CueCat et al.

[edit]

I have removed the material you added at CueCat given that, from my reading of the literature, you attempted to hide the fact that it was one of the most conspicuous and widely remarked-upon failures of the dot-com era. Now I see that you are attempting to add a similarly dubious article about the man behind the failure. I would suggest either writing something more accurate or moving on to some other subject. Re. your edits to the 'CueCat' article

[edit]

Your recent edits seem to have the appearance of edit warring. Users are expected to collaborate and discuss with others and avoid editing disruptively.

Please be particularly aware, the three-revert rule states that:

  1. Making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24-hour period is almost always grounds for an immediate block.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss the changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing without further notice.

Please discuss article content on the talk page - do not edit war. 02:51, 30 October 2011 (UTC)

Cue Cat

[edit]

Hello, I have submitted suggestions for Cue Cat. Seems you have some reserach. Would like to begin a dialog about improvements to the cue cat record. Could you please join the discussion on the cue cat talk page? Thank you (ProofPlus Professional Researcher 19:40, 2 November 2011 (UTC)) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Proofplus (talkcontribs)

Thank each of you, wiki editors and such, for giving me such great pointers and also for the direct emails of encouragement in learning this process. Shabbat Shalom - and since it's Friday I plan to make my additions and updates to the record on Monday. Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, such as Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/J. It may also be necessary for the text be modified to have an encyclopedic tone and to follow Wikipedia article layout. For more information on Wikipedia's policies, see Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.

If you would like to begin working on a new version of the article you may do so at this temporary page. Leave a note at [[Talk:Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/J. Thank you, and please feel welcome to continue contributing to Wikipedia. Happy editing! Nil Einne (talk) 17:40, 3 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

As the above states, you will need permission for the material to be released under the CC-BY-SA 3.0 licence, not simply to be used on wikipedia. Note: This means anyone even outside wikipedia can modify and use the material in any way they desire (print it, put it on a website, put it on a billboard, put it in a book, put it in a newspaper), including for commercial purposes or even to make fun of the subject if they obey the licence without worrying about copyright (obviously it doesn't overide any libel and other such concerns). Ran can you help me?

[edit]

Ran Kurosawa can you help?

I posted to Cue cat as I said I would. Once again Bbb23 undid my work as he has done to all other. But in the process of dismantleing my work he left out the Codie Ward for cue cat. Would you look over my links for the award and consider improving the file of cue cat on my behalf for the codie award? Seems, me being new and female is hurting me. Can you help improve the cue cat file? I have left the links and info in the discussion page. Thanks ProofPlus Professional Researcher 16:21, 8 November 2011 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Proofplus (talkcontribs)

Hello, Ran kurosawa, and thanks for your contributions to Wikipedia!

I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you worked on, Net Talk Live!, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  1. edit the page
  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. save the page

It helps to explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you have any questions, feel free to ask on the Help Desk. Thanks again for contributing! MikeWazowski (talk) 21:21, 10 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Ran kurosawa,

Any article on this person must be based on the significant coverage that reliable, independent sources have given him. Self-published material, or claims from unreliable, user-submitted websites are not acceptable and will not be used either to establish notability or for assertions of fact or judgments about significance. In particular, IMDb as a user-submitted website is not acceptable as a reliable source in the body of the article, although it is OK as an external link. Please remove all such unreliable sources from the draft article immediately. Since most of his career has been in Dallas, a good selection of references from Dallas newspapers and magazines should be used in the article. The article will summarize what the full range of what reliable, independent sources say about him and his notable invention, good and bad, and will be written from the neutral point of view. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 16:25, 11 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of Net Talk Live! for deletion

[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Net Talk Live! is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Net Talk Live! until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on good quality evidence, and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. —C.Fred (talk) 13:32, 13 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Big Blue Baja

[edit]

Hello Ran kurosawa,

"Big Blue Baja: Travel, Food, Wine and Lifestyle in Baja California", which you used as a reference in CueCat, is a self-published tourism blog that has no credibility regarding technology and patent issues, and is unacceptable as a reliable source on Wikipedia. The material you referenced from that blog comes directly from another blog, scancommerce.org, which is not a reliable, independent source, since it appears to be under the control of J. Jovan Philyaw, also known as J. Hutton Pulitzer, who is the inventor of the CueCat, and has a clearcut interest in portraying that device in a favorable light.

Please declare any conflict of interest that you may have regarding this topic and Net Talk Live! as well. What connection, if any, do you have with Mr. Philyaw/Pulitzer? What connection do you have with any company or entity connected with the patents or technology associated with this device? Please be aware that conflict of interest editing is "strongly discouraged".

Bbb23 removed this content you had added before I had a chance to do it myself. I am in complete agreement with that editor's actions.

Please do not add any content to this article unless it is fully verified by reliable, independent sources. Discuss any controversial edits on the article's talk page first. Thank you. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 01:46, 15 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that there is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you. Mangoe (talk) 18:24, 15 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
