Welcome!

Hello, Rick.zhong, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as Article test by Rick, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines, and may soon be deleted.

There's a page about creating articles you may want to read called Your first article. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on this page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Questions or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! Feezo (Talk) 19:58, 23 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Thank you for experimenting with Wikipedia. Your test worked, and the page that you created has been or soon will be deleted. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Feezo (Talk) 19:58, 23 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

How can I delete articles I original created without your help?

[edit]

Thank you! -Rick

I have moved your question to the bottom. New sections on talk pages should always be placed at the bottom.
You cannot deleted a page on Wikipedia by yourself because only administrators can delete pages. You can request the deletion of pages so an administrator will see it and know you want it deleted. A user has requested the deletion of Article test by Rick by placing {{db-test}} on the page, so an administrator should delete it shortly. Other tags that can be placed on pages to request deletion can be found at Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion.
Please let me know if there are any more questions. Thanks! --Mysdaao talk 20:16, 23 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
As an addendum to the above, you're free to create test pages in your own userspace, for example, at User:Rick.zhong/testpage. Don't worry about having created a test page in the main article space, it'll be deleted soon enough. :) Feezo (Talk) 20:20, 23 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I've deleted the article per the request. --Jezebel'sPonyobons mots 20:32, 23 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

If you go into "my preferences" under the editing tab there's an option "Use external editor by default (for experts only, needs special settings on your computer. More information.)" - the "more information" is a clickable link.  Ronhjones  (Talk) 21:21, 23 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Source information needed for File:Dr. David F. Hardwick.jpg

[edit]

Hello, Rick.zhong!

It was really helpful of you to upload File:Dr. David F. Hardwick.jpg. However, in order to keep and use new images, we need to know their original source.

If you can edit the description page and add this information, that would be great. If you're not sure how or need help, please ask at the media copyright questions page and we'll be happy to assist you.

Thanks again! --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 19:06, 30 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
