Fair use rationale for File:Save Me From Myself Single Cover.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Save Me From Myself Single Cover.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. FASTILY (TALK) 00:54, 23 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Why did you

[edit]

I didn't, as far as I can tell - there is no deletion log for Save Me from Myself (Vertical Horizon song). Was the page in question at another title? Hersfold (t/a/c) 02:03, 23 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ah. Save Me From Myself (Vertical Horizon song) was deleted because it did not contain any actual content - the only text on the page was an infobox and a "future single" tag. This falls under Speedy Deletion Criterion A3, which you can check for more information. Hersfold (t/a/c) 03:26, 23 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, adding content without citing a reliable source, as you did to Frankie Jonas, is not consistent with our policy of verifiability. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you are familiar with Wikipedia:Citing sources, please take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. - SummerPhD (talk) 05:19, 28 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add content without citing verifiable and reliable sources, as you did to Frankie Jonas. Before making any potentially controversial edits, it is recommended that you discuss them first on the article's talk page. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. - SummerPhD (talk) 19:35, 4 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Ricky

[edit]

How do you add citing sources Mario.brosfan (talk) 21:03, 12 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please see Wikipedia:Citing sources for details Ricky3374 (talk) 21:04, 12 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Caitlin Crosby requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. ttonyb (talk) 21:28, 17 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This article was changed to a redirect as the result of a valid Articles for Deletion discussion because the subject is not notable. Please do not recreate the article again or you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Thank you. - SummerPhD (talk) 23:43, 18 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This also applies for Staring Down. - SummerPhD (talk) 23:46, 18 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

As I have just outlined on my talk page: You can't control whether or not a subject is notable. A song is usually notable if it: has been ranked on national or significant music charts or has won significant awards or honors or has been performed independently by several notable artists, bands or groups. Additionally, the song must be the subject of significant coverage in independent reliable sources. This song does not meet those standards. As a result, the song, IMO, does not merit its own article. As the subject of an Articles for Deletion discussion, other editors agreed. Please do not recreate this article. - SummerPhD (talk) 21:29, 19 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I agree sir. If I can't make the song notable then nobody can. Ricky3374 (talk) 22:47, 19 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Upload a file

[edit]

Hey Ricky I got a question. How do you upload an image? Mario.brosfan (talk) 16:31, 20 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

If you look on the left side of your computer. The left side should say Upload file. It's right underneath logs. Be careful. If you upload images without the details. It could be deleted. Ricky3374 (talk) 16:36, 20 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your userpage

[edit]

Hello Ricky. Sorry but I've removed File:Mario & Luigi 3 NA Cover.PNG from your userpage. It is a fair use image and such images are allowed only in articles, not userpages. Thanks, —SpaceFlight89 17:47, 20 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I never knew that. But thanks for reminding me. Ricky3374 (talk) 01:34, 21 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'd like if you'd discuss the change of the image against consensus on the talkpage instead of reverting each time you notice it has been removed. The logo you added has been in use but it isn't the official logo, only a variant used on air. Because this isn't a simple issue, come to Talk:Cartoon Network (United States) and discuss so something can be done. treelo radda 11:06, 26 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Again, this song is not notable, per WP:NSONGS. Please do not recreate the article. - SummerPhD (talk) 23:46, 30 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Fine. Then let me say that you are the worst user I've ever seen. Ricky3374 (talk) 01:19, 1 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Probably the wrong user

[edit]

Um, last time I checked, I never did leave a phone number on the sandbox. You probably meant another user. 66.231.12.116 (talk) 21:43, 1 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Actually check again. Go to the sandbox and click on history. If you see where says 17:11, 1 October 2009 It should say 66.231.12.116 (talk) if you don't believe me then check again. Ricky3374 (talk) 23:59, 1 October 2009 (UTC]
The edit at 17:11, 1 October 2009 does not add a phone number, nor was that edit made by 66.231.12.116.
Other edits since then have added phone numbers ([1], [2], [3], [4]), but they were not by 66.231.12.116 either.
The only edit to the sandbox by 66.231.12.116 does not include a phone number. - SummerPhD (talk) 03:06, 2 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Adopting new users

[edit]

Thank you for the enthusiasm! At the moment, I feel you do not have enough experience to adopt new users. As evidenced by the discussion immediately above this, you do not seem to have a firm grasp of the history functions. Based on our discussions on my talk page and elsewhere, it seems you do not understand our notability guidelines. - SummerPhD (talk) 02:25, 6 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
