Long-Overdue RfA Thanks from Alphachimp
Thanks for your support in my not-so-recent RfA, which was successful with a an overwhelmingly flattering and deeply humbling total of 138/2/2 (putting me #10 on the RfA WP:100). I guess infinite monkey theorem has been officially proven. Chimps really can get somewhere on Wikipedia.
With new buttons come great responsibility, and I'll try my best to live up to your expectations. If you need assistance with something, don't hesitate to swing by my talk page or email me (trust me, I do respond :)). The same goes for any complaints or comments in regard to my administrative actions. Remember, I'm here for you. (Thanks go to Blnguyen for the incredible photo to the right.) alphaChimp laudare 05:41, 3 September 2006 (UTC) |
- By the way, I think a more effective way to damage Wikipedia would be (removed out of reverence to WP:BEANS). </sarcasm> Thanks for the vote. alphaChimp laudare 05:41, 3 September 2006 (UTC)
Indefinite block of 61.112.93.16
I have replaced your indef block of User:61.112.93.16 with 6 months, per the principle that you should never indefinitely block an IP address. The Land 16:15, 3 September 2006 (UTC)
Although I nominated it for deletion, I was surprised that Template:Kayfabe disclaimer got deleted - it looked like the consensus was to keep the template. --Jtalledo (talk) 19:37, 3 September 2006 (UTC)
- Well, you're not going to get any argument from me about the template's deletion, I just wanted to make sure it wasn't deleted in error. Thanks for the explanation. :) --Jtalledo (talk) 20:25, 3 September 2006 (UTC)
Bint Jbeil
Are you still claiming to be a disinterested editor, follwoing your two recent edits to the article? Please use Talk before reverting again. You are out of line. Isarig 02:07, 4 September 2006 (UTC)
- I am no longer a disinterested editor, nor will I claim to be in the future. Also, I did not revert the article, I actually added content. Any administrator actions, besides simple reverts, I will ask other administrators to do. RyanGerbil10(Kick 'em in the dishpan!) 02:12, 4 September 2006 (UTC)
Battle of Bint Jbeil
Hi! I protected this page, Battle of Bint Jbeil, to stop a revert war. I was somewhat disinterested back then, but no longer. User:Isarig keeps reverting anyone who cites a certain MSNBC article, and since I lowered the protection level, in a cautiously optimistic way, the page will need to be protected if he reverts me again. Contact me if you need more details. Regards, RyanGerbil10(Kick 'em in the dishpan!) 02:22, 4 September 2006 (UTC)
- Have the page watchlisted now, if more reverts take place I will fully protect. —Mets501 (talk) 02:35, 4 September 2006 (UTC)
A good start to my 100th day of sysophood. I locked the Srebrenica massacre page and will have dozens of Balkan editors on my page, this, another user is threatening to niggle me, and hopefully tonight, barring a catastrophe, Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/JPD will pass, my tenth.Blnguyen | BLabberiNg 00:06, 5 September 2006 (UTC)
Wikimeet in Pittsburgh?
Since you indicated that you are currently a student at UPitt, you may be interested in a Wikimeet that I'm trying to set up in Pittsburgh. If you're interested, you may join the discussion at Wikipedia:Meetup/Pittsburgh and/or its talk page. At the time of this writing, a total of 3 people have signed up, and we're trying to bring that number up to at least 5 people. (Note: If for any reason you do not wish to participate, simply ignore this message.) Scobell302 01:17, 6 September 2006 (UTC)
TfD
Hi! Can you please take a look at the August 25 TfD? It seems to have been overlooked. Wikipedia:Templates_for_deletion/Log/2006_August_25 dryguy 01:49, 6 September 2006 (UTC)

Hi. You closed the tfd discussion and decided for deletion, but it is still there. Thank you. --Bob 00:22, 7 September 2006 (UTC)
CURRENTHOUR
TfD nomination of Template:CURRENTHOUR
Template:CURRENTHOUR has been nominated for deletion. You are invited to comment on the discussion at the template's entry on the Templates for Deletion page. Thank you. っ 03:32, 8 September 2006 (UTC)
- With regard to your September 3 closing of the TFD; no, the template has in fact been replaced. Try yourself by modifying it and trying to transclude. In any case, as the above user points out, the magic word entry has indeed been added at m:Magic words#Time; CBDunkerson must have been confused. Consider speedy-closing the second nomination and reversing your decision. ~ PseudoSudo 03:41, 8 September 2006 (UTC)
Pittsburgh Wikimeet update
We now have 5 interested people and have moved to discussing the time & location of our first meetup. You may provide your input at Wikipedia talk:Meetup/Pittsburgh#Time & Location of first meetup. Once we finalize something we will indicate it on the front page. Scobell302 02:59, 9 September 2006 (UTC)

RE:Crystal Lake
Thanks. I recently saw the Crystal Lake article and have been looking around at Crystal Lake articles since. I'm a freshmen at South myself. Couchpotato99 19:01, 10 September 2006 (UTC)
AN/I note on your edit of a protected article
Hi Ryan, Can you take a look at Wikipedia:Administrators'_noticeboard/Incidents#rbil10_abusing_admin_tools_yet_agian? I don't know anything about what's going on, or whether indeed you realized the article was still protected when you edited it, but giving an explanation on the noticeboard would seem appropriate. -- SCZenz 04:43, 11 September 2006 (UTC)
- Incidentally, since the user in question didn't bother to discuss the issue with you first, I think the complaint is premature. But now that it's up there, I figure you should know about it and deal with it. -- SCZenz 04:46, 11 September 2006 (UTC)

Go raibh maith agat!
Thank you so much for supporting my RfA! It ended up passing and I'm rather humbled by the support (and a bit surprised that it was snowballed a day early!). Please let me know if I can help you out and I welcome any comments, questions, or advice you wish to share.

I'd suggest changing the block to indef. It's a vandalism only account. alphaChimp(talk) 02:09, 13 September 2006 (UTC)
- Not sure if you're watching my talk page, but sure, I'll do it. RyanGerbil10(Kick 'em in the dishpan!) 02:11, 13 September 2006 (UTC)
Do you think an indefinite block is warranted? He has been problematic at times but that seems a little excessive. gren グレン 03:30, 13 September 2006 (UTC)

Thank you very much for participating in my RFA, which closed successfully today with a result of (50/3/0). If you have any further questions or suggestions, feel free to write me. I hope I will live up to your trust. Michael 01:32, 18 September 2006 (UTC) |
Your reply at Wikipedia:Requests_for_adminship/Chacor
How did I fail to be civil? Would you prefer I hide my disgust behind a dishonest front and just attack him in secret? .. or are you just referring to my statement the claim that NSLE's hivemind entry was a release of personal information was load of crap? .. if so, it might be harsh but I think harsh is an approiate response to an insult to my intelligence. In any case, the people who have claimed that are not participants in the confirmation process, so it's not like I was trying to insult the supporters.--Gmaxwell 15:00, 18 September 2006 (UTC)

Thanks Ryan
Hey Ryan, thank you for supporting my recent RfA. It finished with an amazing final tally of 160/4/1. I really appreciate your support and your extremely generous comments. Cheers, Sarah Ewart (Talk) 05:52, 20 September 2006 (UTC)
How long
You blocked me last week for taking out the sockpuppet template off of my namespace page. The block has expired now, and I am curious how long must this template remain there? Seems like I served the penalty fair and square with a one week block.--CltFn 05:55, 21 September 2006 (UTC)

The Halo's RfA
Re: Ohio Wesleyan University
What kind of formatting issue does the table on the Ohio Wesleyan University page have? You mentioned that 2 months ago on the talk page of the page candidacy. I'd appreciate your feedback! WikiprojectOWU 18:41, 23 September 2006 (UTC)
I reverted your edit regarding the template usage in this article. The reason being is that {{Infobox Town DE}} now has optional parameters that cater for imperial measurements. There is now no need for the previous infobox ({{Infobox Town DE imp}}) so I have listed it for deletion. --Bob 22:40, 25 September 2006 (UTC)
Mr. Lefty's RfA thanks
Hi, RyanGerbil10, and thanks for supporting me in my recent request for adminship, which succeeded with a final tally of 70/4/4. I hope I can live up to your expectations, and if there's ever anything you need, you know where to find me! --Mr. Lefty Talk to me! 00:19, 26 September 2006 (UTC) |
