Page protection

[edit]

Hi again, I'm not allowed to protect the page because I'm involved in editing it, but you can make the request of any other admin on their talk page, or you can put up a request on Wikipedia:Requests for protection. Cheers, SlimVirgin (talk) 04:29, July 18, 2005 (UTC)

Message for you on Talk:PA 103. SlimVirgin (talk) 22:33, July 23, 2005 (UTC)

Good job with the article, it looks really thorough now. Sorry I wasn't as active toward the end, some real life things cut down on my activity on Wikipedia. But the article looks nice now. :) Ben Babcock 17:45, 26 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I just reverted the edit you made for this article, removing the redirect to Homer Simpson. I'm not sure why you redirected this article. — J3ff 01:11, 5 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I added a short disambig to the top of the article, with a link to Homer Simpson for those looking for the Simpsons character. In the future, please do not simply blank and redirect articles because they have more than one definition. — J3ff 02:07, 8 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Formatting conventions

[edit]

Please note that Wikipedia conventions is that publications, films, and TV shows are formatted in italics, and individual songs and short stories are formatted in quotes.

IfD

[edit]

I'm guessing you don't need the two images I added to IfD, since you removed the notice I put here, but please:

Do not remove this notice while the question is being considered.

It's not that hard to miss on the tag. If you don't want them deleted, go to where they are listed and say "keep". Thunderbrand 02:29, 17 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

I am obviously making some sort of error in changing the links to avoid the redirect. See Fixed to Avoid Redirect and Re: Fixed to Avoid Redirect. I understand that the visible part of the link should be what the airport was called at the time. However, what I don't really understand is why the hidden part of the link should not be to the airport directly, rather than through the redirect (which slows page loading down). What is the value to the reader? I'm sure it's a perfectly valid and simple explanation and I'm just being thick (not the first nor I'm sure the last time).

I have no intention of changing them back and I'm not asking this because I want to start some sort of argument. I'm asking because I want to avoid the same sort of error in the future. Thanks CambridgeBayWeather 17:14, 7 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I don't disagree with that, it's just I don't understand why the need to go through the redirect if the visual part is the correct name. CambridgeBayWeather 17:31, 7 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

SAM 27000 and the USAF Museum

[edit]

I see you added the following text to the National Museum of the United States Air Force article:

"(the other 707 that flew as Air Force One, SAM 27000, is on display at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library)"

I am not sure what this has to do with the museum and its exhibits. There is no mention in the museum article of the location of other sister aircraft of any of the other exhibits. For instance, Bockscar is at the museum, but there is no mention of Enola Gay or its location. I wanted to discuss this with you first, considering that you have edited other aviation articles, so I didn't want to just revert your edit without discussion. --Rogerd 20:35, 4 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

3rd US INF (TOG)

[edit]

Thanks for clearing up a few things on the Old Guard entry... when I first came into that article, it was a horrid mess, and as a former member of that originization I could not leave it in that condition; a few minor grammatical details were missed... thanks for cleaning those up too. Spread of French riots to Belgium

[edit]

I'd like to know why you changed the article '2005 Belgian urban violence' into a simple redirect to the French main article, while the discussion was still ongoing. In addition, you did this without merging any content into it, thereby effectively deleting my article, despite the call for deletion being rejected a week ago. 1652186 16:07, 19 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Headline text

[edit]

Not that I object your redirecting this template to main, but was this discussed anywhere first? Do you also plan on fixing the redirect mess that the redirect created (see "what links here")? --Stbalbach 05:13, 15 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I noticed that you removed the merge tag from the Delhi article. Please note that until the discussion is not over and merge process is not complete, the merge tag should not be removed. Thanks --Deepak|वार्ता 14:03, 21 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Apologies. I didn't notice that you had already merged the two articles. Thanks a lot for the help. Cheers --Deepak|वार्ता 14:07, 21 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

USMC peer review

[edit]

Hiho, SN, I put up the USMC article for review, and thought of contacting you since you made several contributions. Look here, please. Muchas gracias, --Predator capitalism 11:25, 26 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

World News Tonight

[edit]

Hello,

Are you sure the World News Tonight entry should redirect to the article on the ABC bulletin rather than the disambig page? I'm not saying you're wrong, it just seems to me users could just as reasonably be looking for info on either the ABC bulletin or the Sky News bulletin (or for that matter any other similarly titled news shows I don't know of). - Matthew Humphreys 21:11, 2 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the swift response. Fair enough view; the one thing I'd point out is that's probably only true within the US. On the other hand in the UK and Ireland the Sky News WNT bulletin is on in primetime, while the ABC bulletin is shown by the BBC at 1:30AM, so for Brits or Irishmen the Sky bulletin might be a more common use. (I have no idea about other countries, though I gather Sky News is carried on pay tv in much of the world.) Matthew Humphreys 21:39, 2 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
