Married or not, there is no indication the character has changed her surname. She is still known as Carly Corinthos by the show itself

Dear Wikipedians,

I have thought about my actions and I would like to have a second chance at Wikipedia. It is your choice but if you let me go, you will lose a wonderful editor. Thanks Flyer22! I will take you up on the guidance lessons.

Hoping to comeback,

Santos Michael Lauzan --Carly Benson Corinthos Alcazar 20:22, 14 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

My To-Do list:

To Redirect all the unnoticable Characters on General Hospital to List of General Hospital characters. I have decided to do this to characters who are deceased or not appearing on screen since 2008. --Carly Benson Corinthos Alcazar 13:22, 16 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Redirecting is fine, but it is probably a good idea to check the history on these pages. If someone has already tried to redirect it, and an editor disagreed with the redirection, then you shouldn't redirect again. Instead, check the talkpage to see if there is discussion, and if not, start one, and check consensus on how the page should be handled. --Elonka 15:45, 16 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Santos, you are certainly eager and hardworking and we want you to put that energy to good use. But considering your history with page moves and that sort of thing, why don't you focus on improving articles by copyediting and adding sources rather than a bold project like redirects. I can foresee opposition based on your subjective "prior to 2008" rule, and with your relative inexperience I'm not so sure it's a good idea for you to be making bold decisions in this way. Your time would be put to much better use making improvements that will assist in your learning about policies, guidelines and general convention. — TAnthonyTalk 16:14, 16 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for helping me everyone!

Removing content from my talk page

[edit]

Removing other editors' comments from my talk page is highly inappropriate. Please do not ever do that again. It is vandalism and if you continue to do this, I will block you from editing. Gwernol 13:42, 16 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Understood, Gwernol. Can you help me with the rules?--Carly Benson Corinthos Alcazar 14:01, 16 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Rediirecting

[edit]

I have no idea why you're not indefinitely blocked, but that isn't my call to make. You should be careful about the characters you redirect though. I was pretty liberal in my redirects, but chose to not redirect characters who were notable. Members of the Quartermaine, Webber, and Hardy families are considered "legacy" characters (for lack of a better word). Their long histories on the show make them notable. If you're going to stay here (and personally I don't think it should be allowed) you ONLY need to work on improving articles. Your judgment has been awful in the past. You've proven you do not understand proper redirects with all of your ridiculous redirects of characters starting back in February with your first redirect of Carly Corinthos. You've also proven you don't understand image policy, so you shouldn't be uploading or attaching any images to articles either. Also, I see you've added Twinkle to your monobook. Scripts like Twinkle are tools that make vandalism fighting easier for trusted users. You aren't a trusted user and you've vandalized the encyclopedia in the past. You should probably remove it. If you are allowed to keep editing, why not try improving articles or refining text. And by improving text, I don't mean a year by year break down of everything Carly ever did. I mean copyediting and looking up sources.

You decided that you were going to retire, can I ask what changed? Was it because an indef block wasn't placed on your account? What do you hope to contribute here? Also, why have you added misleading userboxes to your userpage (specifically the AutoWiki Browser box)? Finally, and this is the big question: Why should we believe that you have changed? AniMate 19:50, 16 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the tip on redirecting. TAnthony told me to stop doing it earlier and now I can trust him and you. He told me to focus my energy on improving articles and thats why I am back. That was the advice I needed. I hope to contribute on TV Series like sitcoms and Soaps and Anime. I am very reliable and I didn't know that those families were legacy. Sorry about that! I thought that they were not notible (but once again, I am wrong). From now on, I will ask you before preforming unsure edits. --Carly Benson Corinthos Jacks 20:31, 16 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Can you tell me why you removed the sockpuppet tag? The matter hasn't been closed you know. AniMate 21:05, 16 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Santos will you please talk about the sockpuppeting and why you reverted me [1] [2] these two times while you were logged out? AniMate 23:33, 16 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I swear I did noy do that. I SWEAR to the lord. I did not do that. Please! Im asking you to give me 3o mintes to stop my Wi-Fi. Apparentley someone is using it.--Carly Benson Corinthos Jacks 23:39, 16 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Someone you don't know is using is using your WiFi to edit General Hospital articles? Is that what you're trying to tell me? AniMate 23:40, 16 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That's it. And they've been using my Wi-Fi to downloead Movies to slow my internet down. I dont even know those characters taht you showed me. --Carly Benson Corinthos Jacks 23:47, 16 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Look. I promised not to vandalize anything. And I can swear to you that from now on, if I remain unblocked, My edits WILL ALWAYS be with my account. --Carly Benson Corinthos Jacks 23:47, 16 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

What are the pages you want me to developp? Give me 5 pages for 2 weeks and you shall be amazed. --Carly Benson Corinthos Jacks 23:52, 16 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Before you start editing why don't you explain this [3]? AniMate 23:59, 16 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use images

[edit]

Just to clarify, FYI, just because you screen cap or even manipulate images in Photoshop does NOT give you any rights of ownership. The studio/series owns the images no matter what you do to them. You may have realized this after you uploaded http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Image:Carly2008.jpg and asserted ownership (I've removed your indications to that effect).

Also, please note the change I made hereto the "replaceable" parameter of Image:Carly-01.jpg. The point of the fair use rationale is asserting that the images is not replaceable by a free version (and in this case, a free version could not exist because the source material is copyrighted).

Unfortunately Santos, you can't seem to escape controversy lately, LOL. If you've decided not to retire after all, why don't you take a real break form WP for a couple of days where you don't even read it? Then come back and jump into some non-soap-related articles. And seriously, perhaps you should resist the temptation to edit General Hospital articles Carly Corinthos in particular. Overall, I would try to make small edits that aren't likely to cause controversy. You may want to check out Category:Wikipedia maintenance categories sorted by month to find articles in need of various forms of cleanup. This should really help you learn about policy and procedures.

And finally, NEVER delete ANYTHING from anyone's talk pages, even your own comments. It is unnecessary and you are inviting trouble. 00:05, 17 June 2008 (UTC)— TAnthonyTalk

Sorry TAnthony. I wont delete things on my Talk Anymore or on anyone's. --Carly Benson Corinthos Jacks 00:21, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Boot camp

[edit]

First lesson

[edit]

Okay, Santos, I thought I would get to guiding you after seeing if you were going to be indefinitely blocked or not, but since you are currently here, I might as well put you to good use. You love Carly Corinthos, so let's start there.

Tense. Plot summaries should be in present tense, not past tense, per official policy and, in particular to soap operas, per Wikipedia:WikiProject Soap Operas#Tense. You suggested that AniMate give you some articles to improve. Well, I'm giving you this simple task: Correct the tense to as many General Hospital character articles important to you as you can. Cut down on a lot of these plot summaries, starting with Carly's article. I wasn't sure to guide you on general policies first or stern policies on fiction... I decided fiction.

Second/Third

[edit]

You are also to visit User:Glo145's talk page and read sections Hello and Time for more. Do all of this, and you will already be on your way to improving as a Wikipedian. Flyer22 (talk) 00:37, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, and a tip... When uploading images, make sure that you label and licence the images correctly. A screenshot is not the same as a promotional image, of course. If it is an image of Carly in a scene from the show, just a plain screencaptured image, that is a screenshot...not a promotional shot. Flyer22 (talk) 00:53, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Tada! Look at Carly's article now and tell me what you think. Good or Bad? 5 Star or 2 Star? And I forgot. THANK YOU SO MUCH! You are the only edittor this kind towards me. Thank you So much Flyer22.--Carly Benson Corinthos Jacks 01:26, 17 June 2008 (UTC)--Carly Benson Corinthos Jacks 01:26, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It was a 1 star. Why? Because you did not correct the headings that needed correcting per Wikipedia policy, which, if you read the parts of Glo's talk page carefully that I advised you to read, you would have known to do. Instead of adding a source for the real world-information section that was in that article, you removed it. AniMate restore it, and I know that TAnthony removed it afterwards, but at least he gave a reason for removing it -- no source. You also did not cut the plot down significantly enough. AniMate did that. That said, you did do what I mostly wanted done at that point, which was correcting the tense of that article, thus that is why you get a 1 star. Now look below to the fourth and fifth lessons. Flyer22 (talk) 17:22, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fourth/fifth

[edit]

Real world-context and sourcing.

If you read the part of Glo's talk page that I advised you to, you know how important reliable sourcing is on Wikipedia and you will see the detail I relayed about correctly formatting references. It is very important that fictional character articles on Wikipedia not only be well-sourced but have real-world information. Real-world information is information that consists of casting information, character creation, portrayal, and cultural impact.

You are to look at and study the Kendall Hart Slater article, since it is an easier type for you to understand at this early point than trying to bring an article up to Bianca Montgomery's standards. Do your best in making the Carly Corinthos article resemble the way that the Kendall Hart Slater article is formatted. There need not be anything about SORAS, of course, since Carly (from what I know) has not been rapidly aged. I'm sure that you know that I only mean that I want the Carly Corinthos article to resemble the Kendall Hart Slater article in how it addresses the actresses who portrayed this character and the impact of the character.

Focus on the casting and portrayals first. Do not worry about creating a Cultural impact or Impact section at the moment. And I have not found enough or enough good sources for a Cultural impact section about her yet anyway.

Here are some sources for you to get started on the Background section about casting and character portrayal:

Sarah Brown

This is not a lot of information about her portrayal of Carly, but it is enough to state something about her portrayal of the character.

http://community.tvguide.com/blog-entry/TVGuide-Editors-Blog/Soaps-News/Gh-Exclusive-Sarah/800031299

Tamara Braun

Not a lot of information about her portrayal of Carly, but it is enough to state something about her portrayal of the character.

http://www.wchstv.com/abc/genhosp/tamarabraun.shtml

http://www.soapoperadigest.com/soapstarstats/tamarabraunbio/

Jennifer Bransford

http://www.soapcentral.com/gh/news/2005/0328-bransford_braun.php

Laura Wright

A lot about her casting and portrayal of the character. And considering that she is the present Carly, it balances itself out okay.

Plot

Use this source to source some of the plot:

Also use the abc.com source to source the plot as well, of course. Flyer22 (talk) 17:22, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Retired?

[edit]

So what was this promise? It lasted all of an hour? Are you retiring (again) or not? I have to say that given the long string of broken assurances and promises that you have made, I am extremely close to indefinitely blocking this account. Please explain to me what is going on, and why anyone should ever believe you again. Gwernol 01:10, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I wanted to retire because no one was helping me and I wanted to help Wikipedia. Flyer22 helped me by giving me the rules and I am on the roead to becoming a good wikipedian. I am not retiring but all my edits from now on are with this account. Animate accused me of editing with IP today to revert her edits but that was not true. I found the problem and now I am working hard to fix articles. Give me 2 minutes and look at the Carly Corinthos article. The Page will fit Wikipedia's citerias. --Carly Benson Corinthos Jacks 01:20, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That promise was a promise that I made because people wouldn't leave me alone. I am returning until someone tells me no. --Carly Benson Corinthos Jacks 01:20, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

People wouldn't leave you alone, because you were hurting, not helping, Wikipedia. That said, yes, you made some improvements to the Carly article. I'd suggest from here on in, you make no page moves, don't change any characters names, and only edit while you are logged in. Also, you should change your signature back to something that reflects your username and doesn't redirect to the Carly article. It's violates the spirit of the signature guidelines, and considering your history with Carly Corinthos, I think it's probably for the best. Finally, I know you think I've picked on you, but I haven't. I offered you advice when we first interacted, but you ignored it and disruptively edited while you were blocked. You're very lucky. You have a long history of disruptive edits, an even longer history of sockpuppets, and the administrators aware of your history have chosen to give you a second (third? fifth? eighth?) chance. Don't blow it, and keep your edits strictly to improving existing articles. Since Flyer22 has agreed to mentor you, you should probably run by her anything outside of copyediting and sourcing... especially page moves, picture uploads, and edits to names. Good luck. AniMate 05:39, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank You so Much, AniMate. I cna promise you that all my edits are made with my account. Anyone else editing under my IP is not me. And I will improve pages from now on.

By the way, AniMate is male. Flyer22 (talk) 17:22, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for Image:Carly-01.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Carly-01.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 12:08, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Images

[edit]

I've fixed the Carly images, but you need to remember to add image copyright tags to your uploads in addition to the fair use rationale templates. Also, please note the difference between promotional images (posed shots usually found on the websites) and screenshots (captures made from an actual episode). — TAnthonyTalk 16:28, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Why was my recent Carly image of Laura in a red dress rejected? --[[|User:Santos25Q|Santos25Q]] 21:34, 17 June 2008 (UTC) It is a screenshot.--[[|User:Santos25Q|Santos25Q]] 21:49, 17 June 2008 (UTC)

Tone

[edit]

Hi, in your edit summary here, I'm not sure that the tone of "No other name in this article is accepted" is appropriate. I really don't want to pick on you, but even after all this trouble you continue to make sloppy edits (bad spelling and capitalization) and a questionable attitude. I appreciate your recent edits to the Carly article, but Animate, myself and others have now worked on it as well, so why don't you distance yourself from this particular article for awhile? I think you are too attached/personally involved, and it negatively affects your editing. Thanks. — TAnthonyTalk 16:43, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

OK. I'm working on other articles now. Make them fit to Wikipedia's standards.

Why did you log out for this edit? Also, from now on do not edit anymore character names. Period. AniMate 18:43, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Work

[edit]

Work on Wikipedia is the only way your're going to improve as a Wikipedian editor. I know that TAnthony advised you to stay away from the Carly Corinthos article for a while, but I don't believe that that's such a good idea. Why? Because I don't believe that you can purposely stay away from it for a few days, and also it is the main character you are invested in. Which is why you should be working on that article right now, doing the rest of what I have laid out above for you to do. You should be in that article making tiny mistakes and learning from those mistakes, learning how to format references properly. I highly suggest you get started on that now. Just make sure to put the sourced text in your own words. Copy and paste the sourced text, then type it in your own words before saving it. Check for spelling errors. And since you don't have a lot of information on all of the actresses' portrayals, it should all go under the simple title of Casting and character portrayal, no individual subheadings. Flyer22 (talk) 00:48, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

I see you removed the notification but haven't fixed Image:HarrrtPotter-Nude.jpg ... just want you to realize that it will be deleted if you don't provide the proper copyright tag. — TAnthonyTalk 17:20, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Can you show me the right tag?--[[|User:Santos25Q|Santos25Q]] 18:51, 18 June 2008 (UTC)

I did some hunting, as the promotional pictures for Equus were done before he was 18, if I remember correctly. Anyway, I'm fairly certain that this is a fake and should probably be deleted. AniMate 18:57, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It is? I thought it was part of the play. --[[|User:Santos25Q|Santos25Q]] 18:57, 18 June 2008 (UTC)

Page moves

[edit]

No more page moves, even if you're 100% sure it is correct. You've proven in the past that you cannot be trusted with them. I think moving the article on Jax was the right move, but from now on you need to ask someone else to do these for you. AniMate 17:37, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank You. --[[|User:Santos25Q|Santos25Q]] 18:51, 18 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit]

An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, Image:HarrrtPotter-Nude.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Please see the discussion to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. AniMate 20:38, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It was deleted. AniMate 21:08, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Parameters

[edit]

There are certain parameters (or boundaries) I think that need to be set for you as an editor that you have to follow.

  • No more page moves. Period. If you feel a page has been moved improperly you can contact me, Flyer22, TAnthony, Gwernol, or post a request at Wikipedia:WikiProject Soap Operas
  • Stay away from character names altogether. That means no changing names in articles, i.e. changing Carly and Sonny have a son named Michael to Carly Leigh Benson Corinthos Jacks and Michael "Sonny" Corinthos, jr. have a son named Michael Morgan Corinthos III". You just don't have a handle on names and how they should be presented.
  • No more image uploads. Period. You don't seem to have a grasp on how to tag images properly and the images you upload are often of dubious quality and origin. The last image you uploaded was a photoshopped fake nude of Daniel Radcliffe. Great care needs to be taken when posting nude photos, especially nude photos that don't add much information to the encyclopedia.

This still gives you plenty of space to operate. There are articles that need to be cleaned up, but done so with an eye on making them easy to understand and encyclopedic. For instance, your changes to Johnny Zacchara:Johnny Zacchara arrives in Port Charles to take over the family buisness. Johnny is accused of many crimes but all charges are dropped. This doesn't make a lot of sense. What business? What crimes? Also, if you notice, certain words are underlined in red. That's Wikipedia's spell checker. It isn't 100% accurate (especially when it comes to proper names) but looking at what you wrote one can tell that buisness should be business. Use the preview button, and spell check as often as you can. Your edits to Carly Corinthos weren't bad, and you should probably try for that approach in the future.

Finally, you need to remove (|) this character from the beginning of your signature. If you can't tell what character I'm trying to type (because looking at it I'm even having a hard time), it's the vertical line at the very beginning of your signature that looks a little bit like a lower case "l" or an upper case "I".

Just to recap:

Courtney Jacks Article

[edit]

Her common name was Jacks and that's the name that she died with. For proof, when Courtney died and Jax remained the father, a paternity test that Carly found said : Mother: COURTNEY JACKS and Father: Nikolas Cassadine. That's why I say this. Plus, she was credited Courtney Jacks.

Courtney and Jax were divorced in 2006. For the majority of her time on the show she was known as Courtney Matthews. The article is in the correct place and shouldn't be moved. AniMate 20:08, 20 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry for wasting your time. You're right. My apologies. Umm... I have evidance that Carly is pregnant at the Soaps.com page and more on Claudia, Johnny, Lulu, and Maxie. --Santos25Q 22:12, 20 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

We don't post spoilers because Wikipedia is not a crystal ball, so if it hasn't happened on screen we can't write about it. AniMate 22:19, 20 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

OK. I'll remove the content that I wrote. --Santos25Q 22:20, 20 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Final warning

[edit]

Moving your user page and talk page was an extremely disruptive thing to do. Please do not ever do that again. You have consistently run into problems moving articles. I very strongly suggest you stop moving anything. You clearly do not understand what you are doing with page moves and the problems you are causing. If you do not stop I will block you for disruption. This is your only warning. Gwernol 01:33, 21 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Santos, I do not know how to help you at this point. You've ignored my recent instructions, the main thing that could quickly improve your editing knowledge and keep you out of trouble. And you continue to make decisions others have advised you against. I have pondered your age due to your not grasping our policies and behavior, but 16-year-olds easily grasp our policies, I mean. Thus, I cannot figure you out, but I do not like having my time wasted. If you are going to ignore me from now on, then I ask do not say that I have guided you. Flyer22 (talk) 19:00, 21 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Start editing productively or you're going to be blocked... again. As it is, you haven't made any good contributions in ages. These edits are disturbing. Moving your user page was stupid. And this edit shows that you still aren't willing to use spell check. I'm done too. AniMate 20:12, 21 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Can I change my password? People are using it to do these. I'm tired of them doing this to me. Please!--Santos25Q 23:18, 21 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Since your account has been compromised and you no longer have control of it, I have indefinitely blocked this account. We do not allow compromised accounts to edit Wikipedia. Thanks, Gwernol 23:20, 21 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
You clearly don't have the maturity to edit here. Please don't continue and create sockpuppets or edit as an IP. You said you were leaving not too long ago. I suggest you do that as you will not and have not edited productively at all. AniMate 23:29, 21 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I hereby Leave Wikipedia, Forever. This is a place of harrasment and unwarmth (thank you so much Flyer22 for being a good Wikipedian). I swear to leave if these account are removed from Wikipedia (Randy Jaiyan, etc). Good Bye!--Santos25Q 00:58, 22 June 2008 (UTC)--Santos25Q 00:58, 22 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

We do not remove abusive accounts from Wikipedia. Any further editing by you on any account or IP will result in immediate blocks. You have proved by your actions that you are not capable of making productive contributions to Wikipedia. Thanks, Gwernol 01:00, 22 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Since you have chosen to descend to personal attacks and abuse, I have protected this page that you can no longer edit it. Please abide by your promise to leave Wikipedia. This account and your other sockpuppet accounts will not be deleted. Gwernol 01:26, 22 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
