Files missing description details

Dear uploader: The media files you uploaded as:

are missing a description and/or other details on their image description pages. If possible, please add this information. This will help other editors make better use of the images, and they will be more informative to readers.

If the information is not provided, the images may eventually be proposed for deletion, a situation which is not desirable, and which can easily be avoided.

If you have any questions, please see Help:Image page. Thank you. Theo's Little Bot (error?) 10:35, 14 April 2013 (UTC)

Image deletions

Thanks for your support but I'm afraid anything else said about it will get me banned or something. I decided to have my images orphaned so a bot auto-deletes them. I'm not wasting anymore time and energy to save them because it's a losing battle. Yes the deletionists, the reverters and censors have earned this place the suck award. Cyberia23 (talk) 06:05, 5 August 2013 (UTC)

It's interesting the way you managed to expand the ″Aftermath″ section. Thanks for that.--Jetstreamer Talk 15:19, 15 August 2013 (UTC)

Maritime disasters

Hardly any of the entries have pictures. It doesn't seem like a good idea to add a second nearly-empty column to the table: it just makes it huge without adding anything. Do you think it's likely that most of the entries will have a picture soon? If not, that edit should probably be undone. Dricherby (talk) 15:48, 17 August 2013 (UTC)

  • OK, now that most of them do have pictures, I think this is a big improvement. Thanks! While you're editing the page, do you have time to remove the almost redundant "bound for" column from the peacetime disasters? (To be honest, it was that column that sparked an "Oh no, not again" reaction when you added what was, at the time, another nearly-empty column!) Dricherby (talk) 08:14, 21 August 2013 (UTC)
  • Please stop adding non-free files to that list. Werieth (talk) 12:59, 22 August 2013 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (File:Wish Bank.jpg)

Thanks for uploading File:Wish Bank.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Werieth (talk) 22:34, 25 September 2013 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for September 30

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited List of maritime disasters, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Shamia (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Notification of automated file description generation

Your upload of File:Ball And Bucket Game.jpg or contribution to its description is noted, and thanks (even if belatedly) for your contribution. In order to help make better use of the media, an attempt has been made by an automated process to identify and add certain information to the media's description page.

This notification is placed on your talk page because a bot has identified you either as the uploader of the file, or as a contributor to its metadata. It would be appreciated if you could carefully review the information the bot added. To opt out of these notifications, please follow the instructions here. Thanks! Lists of maritime disasters

What's happened to the pre-1700 stuff? Also, you might be able to expand the lists by trawling through the various lists of shipwrecks. Mjroots (talk) 15:02, 31 May 2015 (UTC)

I'd revert the redirection of the C20th page, leaving the List of maritime disasters to cater for up to 1700, and add links to the century pages as separate sections - take a look at List of windmills, you'll see what I mean. Mjroots (talk) 15:22, 31 May 2015 (UTC)
That's exactly what I meant. Mjroots (talk) 16:16, 31 May 2015 (UTC)

Please do not move ship articles to names that include disambiguators (hull number classifications in this case) unless such disambiguation is required to differentiate between two or more ships of the same name. See WP:NCSHIPS and WP:PRECISE.

Now noticing that you have move a bunch of articles in a similar fashion, pleas move them back to their proper titles.

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited USS Wolverine (IX-64), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Saloon (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

The article Shay Motors Corporation has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:CORP

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
