Date formats

[edit]

Please refrain from using purely numeric date formats on Wikipedia, as you did on Oblivion (roller coaster). A date written as 01/02/03 means 1 February 2003 to a European, 2 January 2003 to an American or 3 February 2001 to a Japanese. Rather, use one of the date formats that is standard across Wikipedia: 1 November 2024 for articles on British/European topics, November 1, 2024 for articles on American topics, otherwise just keep it consistent throughout the article. Please see Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Dates and numbers for more information on how to write dates in Wikipedia articles. Thank you. — Smjg (talk) 11:24, 8 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. At least one of your recent edits, such as the edit you made to The Smiler (roller coaster), did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted or removed. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at the welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make some test edits, please use the sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. Your recent edits

[edit]

Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 22:56, 8 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Pine Marten in the Peak District

[edit]

Derbyshire Mammal Group's views on Pine Marten is worth reading. Even if Pine Martens are present in small numbers, they are not endemic nor are they a characteristic or significant feature of the county's fauna (and the same goes the other species you mentioned). I'm struggling to think of an animal that is characteristic of the Peak District. Dave.Dunford (talk) 00:46, 1 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
