Information icon Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

I noticed your recent edit to Martin Ezcurra does not have an edit summary. Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.

Edit summary content is visible in:

Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. With a Wikipedia account you can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → check Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. Thanks! Automated taxoboxes[edit]

Hi, there are two common patterns for automated taxoboxes.

For a genus with multiple species, use:

{{Automatic taxobox
| taxon = GENUS
| authority = AUTHORITY
}}

See, e.g., Fabrosaurus. Note that the parameter must be |taxon=, not |genus=.

For a genus with a single species, you can use:

{{Speciesbox
| genus = GENUS
| parent_authority = GENUS_AUTHORITY
| species = SPECIFIC_NAME
| authority = SPECIES_AUTHORITY
}}

See, e.g., Brasileosaurus. An alternative, which some editors prefer because it uses the same parameter |taxon= as {{Automatic taxobox}} is:

{{Speciesbox
| taxon = GENUS_NAME SPECIFIC_NAME (i.e. BINOMIAL)
| parent_authority = GENUS_AUTHORITY
| authority = SPECIES_AUTHORITY
}}

You don't put the italics or extinct symbol in any of these; the italicization is automatic and the extinct symbol is added based on the taxonomy template. There's a complete guide to the automated taxobox system at WP:Automated taxobox system. Peter coxhead (talk) 05:35, 6 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Also ranks are lower-case Latin in taxonomy templates, e.g. |rank=subfamilia not |rank=subfamily. The system may appear to work with an English rank name, but not all features (e.g. consistency checks) will. Peter coxhead (talk) 05:37, 6 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, you're still creating bad taxoboxes. Please take note of what I wrote above. Peter coxhead (talk) 20:26, 8 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked as a sockpuppet[edit]

Disambiguation link notification for June 9[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Amygdalodon (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver)
added a link pointing to Chubut

Your posts[edit]

You may well have useful articles to post here; but you will not be allowed to do so while you are blocked.. I suspect that you know this, but if you do not, please note that it you personally to whom the block applies, not any particular sockpuppet you may generate. If you genuinely want to contribute, apply for an unblock at your original username. Any article which you create while blocked will be deleted as soon as it is detected.----Anthony Bradbury"talk" 22:11, 9 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

You've made quite a lot of work for me or other editors by creating bad taxoboxes. At one time, of the 8 articles then in a taxobox error-tracking category, 6 had errors caused by your edits, made after I had tried to explain what you were doing wrong. So if you do decide to return legitimately, please do so in a co-operative way, willing to learn how to do things properly. I'll be only too willing to help.
