Notability of IGIT

[edit]

A tag has been placed on IGIT, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (below the existing db tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. -- Shadowlynk 08:53, 10 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Apple Tree Railway

AfD nomination of Apple Tree Railway

[edit]

An article that you have been involved in editing, Apple Tree Railway, has been listed for deletion. If you are interested in the deletion discussion, please participate by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Apple Tree Railway. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice?

The criteria for things getting into Wikipedia isn't that having a page doesn't hurt anyone, but that the topic of the article is of interest to a large group of people, and has been written about by many other people than those involved. Model railways don't fall into this (unless possibly you are taking about the huge ones that you see appearing multiple times in Model Railroader [I don't know much about the UK magazines]). Wongm (talk) 14:59, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, but there's no way that this page (about your model railway) will survive here.
What I suggest you do is copy the page to Train Spotting World, a companion wiki where the restrictions are rather lees tight. Indeed, articles about model railways would be welcomed (although yours would be the first, I think!). Would recommend you register first, so everyone knows whose page it is. Note that you can embed YouTube video clips on that site...
If you need any help, ask on my talk page (here or there, same ID).
Regards

Well i hope you recieve this cause i'm not to sure how it works!!

Hi there.
I've seen your article arrived at TSW. You'll want to replace the photo with one of your own railway (must have words with Bluegoblin7 about the default image...) but rest assured there is no particular reason for the article to be removed. There is a small chance that it might be moved, to a separate namespace for model railways, but that shouldn't make any real difference to you.
And don't feel that you have to 'leave' Wikipedia. As long as you abide by the appropriate rules you will always be most welcome both here and at TSW (the two wikis are not rivals, except in the sense of claiming editing time from users!)
Have fun. -- EdJogg (talk) 09:20, 19 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Oh yes I have changed my image now. When I had bluegoblin17's image it must have been when I was testing the images and trying to get it to work! --Smerlinare (talk) 09:38, 19 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've left a message for you on your TSW talk page. There are a couple of important things you need to add to your new pages. EdJogg (talk) 10:59, 19 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Smerlinare, please avoid adding your own personal opinions to articles, as you did to Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway. Wikipedia requires that all articles are written from a neutral point of view, so additions like "Of all the preserved lines in England, Gloucestershire and Warwickshire is one of the better and more impressive ones. " are not appropriate. Thanks, Gwernol 11:10, 19 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading File:A border collie sits on a farm, 2006.JPG. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NW (Talk) 15:31, 13 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Problems with upload of File:Adkins.png

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Adkins.png. You don't seem to have said where the image came from, who created it, or what the copyright status is. We require this information to verify that the image is legally usable on Wikipedia, and because most image licenses require giving credit to the image's creator.

To add this information, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the information to the image's description. If you need help, post your question on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.
