New Page Review newsletter December 2019
- Reviewer of the Year
This year's Reviewer of the Year is Rosguill. Having gotten the reviewer PERM in August 2018, they have been a regular reviewer of articles and redirects, been an active participant in the NPP community, and has been the driving force for the emerging NPP Source Guide that will help reviewers better evaluate sourcing and notability in many countries for which it has historically been difficult.
Special commendation again goes to Onel5969 who ends the year as one of our most prolific reviewers for the second consecutive year. Thanks also to Boleyn and JTtheOG who have been in the top 5 for the last two years as well.
Several newer editors have done a lot of work with CAPTAIN MEDUSA and DannyS712 (who has also written bots which have patrolled thousands of redirects) being new reviewers since this time last year.
Thanks to them and to everyone reading this who has participated in New Page Patrol this year.

- Redirect autopatrol
A recent Request for Comment on creating a new redirect autopatrol pseduo-permission was closed early. New Page Reviewers are now able to nominate editors who have an established track record creating uncontroversial redirects. At the individual discretion of any administrator or after 24 hours and a consensus of at least 3 New Page Reviewers an editor may be added to a list of users whose redirects will be patrolled automatically by DannyS712 bot III.
- Source Guide Discussion
Set to launch early in the new year is our first New Page Patrol Source Guide discussion. These discussions are designed to solicit input on sources in places and topic areas that might otherwise be harder for reviewers to evaluate. The hope is that this will allow us to improve the accuracy of our patrols for articles using these sources (and/or give us places to perform a WP:BEFORE prior to nominating for deletion). Please watch the New Page Patrol talk page for more information.
- This month's refresher course
While New Page Reviewers are an experienced set of editors, we all benefit from an occasional review. This month consider refreshing yourself on Wikipedia:Notability (geographic features). Also consider how we can take the time for quality in this area. For instance, sources to verify human settlements, which are presumed notable, can often be found in seconds. This lets us avoid the (ugly) 'Needs more refs' tag.

List of Public Performance Rights Organizations
Hello, This is a list of USA based Public Performance Rights Organizations only Draft_talk:List_of_Public_Performance_Rights_OrganizationsMusic Publisher s (talk) 04:24, 23 December 2019 (UTC)
- @Music Publisher s: I linked to the article that actually already has all of the PPROs listed out on a global scale. Since the list is not extensive overall, it does not require an additional article on it as we have a page that already covers it! :) Let me know if you have any other questions. Happy editing. Snowycats (talk) 04:27, 23 December 2019 (UTC)
Thank you! i'll go check that out, Happy holidays! Music Publisher s (talk) 04:29, 23 December 2019 (UTC)

There is no location on the web or on wikipedia where a compact list of car makers with their social media accounts is listed. If you'd like this in another place, fine, please cite that place. The Yearly top-20 car makers list is not applicable because by volume, Ferrari and Lambourghini are NOT high volume enough to make the list. We need a simple place to get this data. Would be very handy. I can't hunt this stuff up even now, except one by one. Is there any place you can find with mult carmakers / truck-makers social media info on one page? Please take mercy on me, I'm trying to do the world a solid by making it easier to find how to contact car makers or at least tag them on twitter easier. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Justanyone (talk • contribs) 18:01, 24 December 2019 (UTC)
- @Justanyone: Hi! Thanks for reaching out. I totally understand your purpose of creating this article, however, on Wikipedia, we don't have a purpose for that information. I love that you are a car enthusiast! I would recommend visiting your favorite car manufacturer articles and editing them with any new information that you feel would make the page even better. Happy editing! :) Snowycats (talk) 18:11, 24 December 2019 (UTC)

Article Creation Question
how can I create a page for Dr Omar Al sheikh — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mamonem123 (talk • contribs) 17:40, 24 December 2019 (UTC)
- @Mamonem123: Hi! Thanks for reaching out. It seems like you are currently creating an article for him at Draft:Dr Omar Abdul Aziz AlSheikh - please keep editing that draft. Happy editing! :) Snowycats (talk) 18:11, 24 December 2019 (UTC)
Hi please help you keep declining my article Starquality182 (talk) 06:25, 26 December 2019 (UTC)
Border Kindness
You just declined a new article - Border Kindness. Your reason is not accurate. The sources are NOT passing mentions - have you read and viewed all the sources? Do you consider PBS, Los Angeles Times, Guardian, etc., not valid media sources? Do you consider quotes and on air interviews not part of a news story? Please explain? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mexicalimike (talk • contribs) 18:50, 25 December 2019 (UTC)
- Mexicalimike, Hi! Thanks for reaching out. I declined your submissions because, in my opinion as a reviewer, your article did not have *significant* coverage via reliable and secondary sources. You also submitted your draft again, without making any changes to the content of the article and another reviewer declined your submission because it reads like an advertisement. I suggest that you review the information provided on those templates on your draft for more information on how to improve your draft. Snowycats (talk) 03:04, 26 December 2019 (UTC)
Re: Draft:Kariera Nikodema Dyzmy (miniseries)
Hi -- I don't understand your comment on my suggested article. Please advise. Zeldathequark (talk) 04:06, 26 December 2019 (UTC)
- Zeldathequark, Hi! Thanks for reaching out. It seems like you did understand my feedback to some regard, as you have since added some additional sources in - which is great! It seems that another reviewer has decided to accept your draft into our mainspace after those edits were made. Happy editing! Snowycats (talk) 04:23, 26 December 2019 (UTC)
How can you state this is NOT significant coverage? Though I’m not impressed with royal family - the selection of Border Kindness as one of only 17 charities in the world to be featured in new “charitable” approach by Royal Sussex and a feature article on that selection ALONE is wiki-worthy for an organization.
Did you view the PBS feature? Have you read ALL the source articles?
The article does not read like an advertisement. It states facts in simple first paragraph - location, USA corporate determination status. Many wiki articles on nonprofits start with exactly this info.
The simple mention that organization is important in response to two Trump policies is not debatable - not untrue - again read and view the media - Border Kindness is ONLY org responding to Migrant Protection Protocol deportations in Mexicali - as Baja was ground zero for this issue. Do you understand MPP and what you are reading? Do you understand the asylum-serking issue - if not are you appropriate to decide the orgs importance? Maybe it’s the politics of the org you don’t like?
Was attempting to help by adding the article. Will have someone else do it - and also proceed to third party involvement. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2806:1000:8101:8186:B153:2256:32DB:4D4E (talk) 04:21, 26 December 2019 (UTC)
Please Accept Ricardo P LloydStarquality182 (talk) 02:18, 28 December 2019 (UTC)
Hi I made the neccessary changes to the article Ricardo P Lloyd following all wikepedia guidlines. Please accept this article as Ricardo P Lloyd is an upcoming actor his team is bulding his online image and reputation. He has some major blockbuster films in the pipeline comming up. We want his brand image to be reconisible for fans and general consumers.
Please note Wikipedia:Proposed deletion of biographies of living people#Nominating point 4. Phil Bridger (talk) 10:46, 28 December 2019 (UTC)
- Also point 1. Trevor Jesty contained a source in the info box. It is clearly marked "source: Cricinfo". Another editor incorrectly tagging it with BLP Unsourced was bad. You doubling down and prodding it was awful. The-Pope (talk) 17:41, 28 December 2019 (UTC)
I have removed the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
tag from Pilar Mateos, which you proposed for deletion. i added an award with reference. If you still think this article should be deleted, please do not add {{proposed deletion}}
back to the page. Instead, feel free to list it at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion. Thanks! Coolabahapple (talk) 14:08, 29 December 2019 (UTC)
