Tips
  • Don't be afraid to edit! Just find something that can be improved and make it better. Other editors will help fix any mistakes you make.
  • It's normal to feel a little overwhelmed, but don't worry if you don't understand everything at first—it's fine to edit using common sense.
  • If an edit you make is reverted, you can discuss the issue at the article's talk page. Be civil, and don't restore the edit unless there is consensus.
  • Always use edit summaries to explain your changes.
  • When adding new content to an article, always include a citation to a reliable source.
  • If you wish to edit about a subject with which you are affiliated, read our conflict of interest guide and disclose your connection.
  • Have fun! Your presence in the Wikipedia community is welcome.

Happy editing! Cheers, Julietdeltalima (talk) 20:07, 30 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Gong Fu Cha[edit]

Hello Sofi Juang,

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username TheLonelyPather, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I have tagged an article that you started, Gong Fu Cha, for deletion, because there's already a page about that topic at Gongfu tea. Please don't be discouraged; we appreciate your effort in creating new articles. To avoid this in the future, consider using the search function to find pages that already cover what you want to write about.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top. If the page is already deleted by the time you come across this message and you wish to retrieve the deleted material, please contact the deleting administrator.

For any further query, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|TheLonelyPather}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

Your contributed article, Gong Fu Cha[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Gong Fu Cha. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Gongfu tea. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Gongfu tea. If you have new information to add, you might want to discuss it at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Cheers, --The Lonely Pather (talk) 00:17, 20 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Some thoughts for you[edit]

Dear @Sofi Juang,

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. This is the Lonely Pather, a new page patroller. I proposed to delete your article Gong Fu Cha because Gongfu tea already exists on Wikipedia, and it is better to improve "Gongfu tea" rather than to make a new article.

I am writing to you to raise another issue. It is not good to create Wikipedia:Gong Fu Cha. The "Wikipedia:" space is reserved for articles such as essays and policies of Wikipedia. It is also not a good practice to redirect your user page to Wikipedia:Gong Fu Cha. I am encouraging you to delete the page Wikipedia:Gong Fu Cha (note it's not the Gong Fu Cha article).

I will assume good faith and take that you performed these actions because you are new to Wikipedia. Forgive this message for being too blunt, but I am more than happy and willing to help you. Please also don't hesitate to visit WP:Teahouse for more questions.

Let me know if you need any help. Cheers, --The Lonely Pather (talk) 00:25, 20 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

If you intend to translate more articles, I encourage you to read User:TheLonelyPather/Essays/Guide for a translator as well. Cheers, --The Lonely Pather (talk) 00:26, 20 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

If this was the first article that you created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice that Wikipedia:Gong Fu Cha, a page that you created, has been deleted. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. As the page met any of these strictly-defined criteria, it was deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been deleted are:

Please do not recreate the material without addressing these concerns, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If you think this page should not have been deleted for this reason, or you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Notice

The article Western brewing style has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Lacks notability. Just references blogs

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. — GhostInTheMachine talk to me 19:56, 22 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you translated text from Feng Qing Jin Si Baota to another page. While you are welcome to translate Wikipedia content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing requires that you provide attribution to the contributor(s) of the original article. When translating from a foreign-language Wikipedia article, this is supplied at a minimum in an edit summary on the page where you add translated content, identifying it as a translation and linking it to the source page. For example: Content in this edit is translated from the existing French Wikipedia article at [[:fr:Exact name of French article]]; see its history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if translation is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{translated page}} template on the talk page of the destination article. If you have added translated content previously which was not attributed at the time it was added, please add attribution retrospectively for that also, even if it was a long time ago. You can read more about author attribution and the reasons for it at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. microbiologyMarcus [petri dish·growths] 16:45, 18 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
