Elk[edit]

Wikipedia works by consensus, not strict adherence to rules, although it's also not clear what rule you are referring to. The consnsus time and again, every time this has come up, is to have articles at the names these animals are known by by english speakers who live in their native range, per WP:ENGVAR so there's both a rule and a previous consensus for you on this subject. Also, you removed the entire article on the elk/wapati. How is that helpful? If you want to make such changes, seek consensus for those changes. FSMA Edit[edit]

Hi Sophie means wisdom. Thank you for contributing to wiki. I noticed you removed the "Food Safety Laws in Other Countries" section on the FSMA article page. Hi, I transferred File:Tiberio Fiorelli.jpg, which you originally uploaded, to Commons:File:Tiberio Fiorelli.jpg. I am guessing you probably found this image on the internet somewhere, but I did not see a url for where you obtained it. Is there any chance you can provide that information? Hi! Thanks for the url. I will add it to the Commons copy. The url http://www.photo.rmn.fr/LowRes2/TR1/SNX0DO/06-501420.jpg is not yet at the Internet Archive (see [1]). This may mean that it was added to the photo.rmn website since the last capture on 10 July 2011. It's possible it will show up in the next capture. In any case, that looks like a good primary source, regardless of where you actually found it, since it seems unlikely that this site would copy from Wikipedia. On another subject, the only reason I removed the translation of the caption is that the Gallica version does not have that caption, but I have no problem with leaving it in. BTW, the "+1694" notation is possibly intended to indicate that the subject died in 1694. I would not think that the engraving was necessarily created in 1694. Also, since engravers at this time often copied each others work, it is not totally clear which version of the engraving was created first, the one from photo.rmn or the one from Gallica. Since the one from Gallica gives the creator's name and the date of 1700, it may well be the original version. --Robert.Allen (talk) 20:12, 2 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
