Speedy deletion nomination of Planned presidential transition of Hillary Clinton

Hello Specto73,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Planned presidential transition of Hillary Clinton for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Arthistorian1977 (talk) 12:33, 31 July 2016 (UTC)

Information icon Hello Specto73. Thanks for patrolling new pages – it's a very important task! I'm just letting you know, however, that you shouldn't tag pages as lacking context (CSD A1) and/or content (CSD A3) moments after they are created. It is also suggested that pages that might meet CSD A7 criteria not be tagged for deletion immediately after they are created. It's usually best to wait at least 10–15 minutes for more content to be added if the page is very short, and the articles should not be marked as patrolled. Tagging such pages in a very short space of time may drive away well-meaning contributors, which is not good for Wikipedia. Attack pages (G10), blatant nonsense (G1), copyright violations (G12) and pure vandalism/blatant hoaxes (G3) should of course be tagged and deleted immediately. Thanks. AfD listing

While it may be badly named, this is a totally notable topic. I realise you are new on Wikipedia, but I always recommend spending some time on Google Books before deciding to list an article for deletion given how much bother and offence this may cause. Personally, if you're not sure a topic is notable, I've found it useful to look on Google Books and/or ask the article creator on talk, saying that you're concerned about notability and requesting further details. This is one of my attempts at doing this.

So just to explain, J.S. Bach as a composer for a major Leipzig church was expected to compose new music every weekend for services. This is explained here. The result was a gigantic amount of music - CD box set releases of it run to 56 discs. While much of this music is not terribly well known to even many classical music fans (we're dealing with a lot of hurriedly assembled hack-work, after all, and I believe it is thought that he recycled a lot of earlier compositions to generate enough music), Bach is considered one of the greatest composers of all time, and a lot of it is considered of good quality - all of it has been performed and recorded in modern times, and there are many textbooks and articles discussing it. The article was admittedly a bit lacking in inline citations, and I'm adding some at the moment. Blythwood (talk) 17:03, 9 August 2016 (UTC)

Information icon Hi Specto73. Thank you for your work on patrolling pages and tagging for speedy deletion. I'm just letting you know that I declined your deletion request for P G Keshavulu, a page that you tagged for speedy deletion, under criterion A7 because the criterion you used or the reason you gave does not cover this kind of page. The article claims that Keshavulu has won awards and originated new styles of art, and has some sources. Please take a moment to look at the suggested tasks for patrollers, criteria for speedy deletion, and particularly, the section covering non-criteria. Such pages are best tagged with proposed deletion or proposed deletion for biographies of living persons, or sent to the appropriate deletion discussion. Thanks!--McGeddon (talk) 12:07, 10 August 2016 (UTC)

@McGeddon: Hi, thanks for your message regarding P G Keshavulu. I think you'll find that the article actually contains no sources; the so-called "sources" are actually a list of awards and offices that the subject has held. I maintain that the subject does not meet WP:GNG (a Google search reveals no references to the subject's so-called contributions to art) and that the article is written in a style that is quite clearly promotional. I respect your decision, though, but I do plan to nominate the article for deletion on those grounds anyway. Kind regards, Specto73 (talk) 12:16, 10 August 2016 (UTC)
Ah, my mistake, I misread the "sources". AfDing (or even just WP:PRODding) the article for not meeting GNG is fine - speedy deletion under A7 just has a much lower bar, the article only needs to make a credible claim of significance which isn't "blatantly false". --McGeddon (talk) 12:22, 10 August 2016 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Department for Exiting the European Union, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page David Davis. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Speedy deletion of Kigoma Ujiji as a duplication of Kigoma and Ujiji

You tagged that page named above that I created, actually that place exist in Tanzania, there is a region named Kigoma, there is an old town called Ujiji in Kigoma, and nearby it there is another town known as Kigoma, the municipal administration for those two small towns is called Kigoma -ujiji municipal council, I could like for you to recreate that page yourself using available materials on the internet about Kigoma Ujiji Almasimagorwa (talk) 13:28, 12 November 2016 (UTC)

Hi Specto! I just wanted to say that I really appreciate your letting me know about the infobox RfC. As you know, I look at it pretty differently, so you letting me know is the kind of honorable thing that make Wikipedia the special community it is. Thank you for keeping it that way. Let me know if there's ever a favor I can repay. Cheers --Chris vLS (talk) 19:31, 9 December 2016 (UTC)
