A tag has been placed on Technolabs Software Services Pvt Ltd, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Lone boatman (talk) 10:24, 10 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that the username you have chosen, "Technolabs", seems to imply that you are editing on behalf of a group, company or website. Please note that Wikipedia does not allow usernames that are promotional or appear to be shared by multiple people. Please take a moment to create a new account or request a username change that represents only yourself as an individual. You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and remember that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you. Mdann52 (talk) 11:32, 10 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Username and conflict of interest[edit]

To ask for a change of username, go to WP:CHU, read down to the bottom of that page, click on "Simple" and follow the instructions. See WP:Username for advice on choice of username.

You should also read the guideline Wikipedia:Conflict of interest. Even with an individual usename, that would apply to you in editing about your company. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a business listing directory, and is not for any kind of advertising or promotion; and, yes, "telling the world" about your company counts as promotion.

Wikipedia articles have to be of enough general interest for an encyclopedia: the Wikipedia term for that is Notability, which is not a matter of opinion but needs to be demonstrated by showing "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject." The test is, have other people, independent of the subject, thought it significant enough to write substantial comment about? More detail in Notability (organizations and companies) and WP:42. Many worthy organizations do not meet that requirement, which is not at all to their discredit, it simply means they are not suitable subjects for an encyclopedia article.

For more advice, read the FAQ/Organizations, in particular the sections headed:

Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames that give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; please take a moment to create a new account with a username that represents only yourself as an individual. You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose.

If your username doesn't represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice.

If you prefer to be unblocked for the purpose of changing your username rather than creating a new account, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice instead. Thank you. -- Ed (Edgar181) 13:41, 10 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion[edit]

Hi, you can sign your comments automatically using four tildes ~~~~. My comments:

  • I think you were very lucky that you were not indefinitely blocked for using a spam username, and that you were unblocked without giving any commitment that you would not continue promoting the company that you were representing.
  • You have an obvious conflict of interest when it comes to editing articles about this subject. If, after reading the information about notability linked below, you still believe that your organisation is notable enough for a Wikipedia article (and that there is significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources), you could, if you wish, post a request at Wikipedia:Requested articles for the article to be created. See also Wikipedia:Best practices for editors with conflicts of interest.
  • It was written in a promotional tone. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic. Examples of unsourced claims presented as fact include: classic example... POWER OF WE... beyond of imagination... cutting edge technologies... known for its quality products... vision is to become global leader in innovation
  • You tell us nothing about the company — employee numbers, turnover, profits — just a list of what you are trying to sell
  • Your article did not provide independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that it meets the notability guidelines for companies.

Please stop writing articles about this topic, or you are likely to be blocked again Jimfbleak - talk to me? 14:24, 16 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
