Welcome![edit]

Hi Telecineguy, and let me echo the welcome to Wikipedia! I notice you've made a lot of edits to television and videotape-related articles, and I just thought I should mention WP:JARGON (ie, just remember Wikipedia is for a general audience) and WP:CAPS (Wikipedia capitalization), though by the looks of your most recent edits, you might have read these already!

As someone who obviously knows something about the tech side of things, I'd be interested on your take on two articles I started, An Evening with Fred Astaire and The Edsel Show, if you can add anything to them. If, for example, you know anything about the technical issues regarding 405-line television (and BBC One, which contains the early history of the BBC Television Service), please add it. Of course, there are lots of other articles - just follow the links or check the categories at the bottom to find those that are related.

I hope you enjoy your time here on Wikipedia! Regards, ProhibitOnions (T) 22:52, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

  • Thank you for the reply, I will try to keep an eye on the cases and links. Telecine Guy

  • About the IVC article, no problem, my pleasure. I suggested making a redirect previously for IVC 2" helical to IVC's main article, due to the former article (IVC 2 inch Helical scan) being a red link at the time, not being writen. Thanks for doing so, and thanks also for the info you added to the 1" type B videotape article too, interesting that there were so many modifications of that format....! :) About the VK format, I could write up an article for that as well, but you can too if you feel inclined to do so... misternuvistor 00:24, 10 June 2007 (UTC)

Deleting files again[edit]

As to the topic at hand, it does not matter whether or not these articles have references. All of the references in question are about Whitewater. All of the articles are coatracks. This means that you're talking a single topic, Whitewater, and splitting it out into multiple articles. None of these people would ever be notable otherwise. The only reason they appeared in the references is because they were involved in Whitewater or the Ken Starr work. That is not notable. Whitewater is, of course, but we already have that article.
If you really feel you need to report this as vandalism, please, feel free! I don't think the results will be to your liking, however.

Three times the this was removed with the claim that the book was not published. I have the ref that the book is in fact published and now you say we do not care.

Dinesh D'Souza giving George Hussein Onyango Obama $1,000 after movie for hospital bill.

Dinesh D'Souza interviewed George Hussein Onyango Obama, the youngest half-brother of Barack Obama. George called Dinesh and asked for help, as his young son was sick and in a hospital. Dinesh sent him $1,000 to cover the medical bills. George was grateful and said: “Dinesh, you are like a brother to me.” [1]

Dinesh D'Souza help is not news also, because we do not care.

I see you have gone to the Wikipedia:Administrators, as a bully. I am not sell any book. The book is a ref about news.

Speedy deletion nomination of Neal Ainley[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Neal Ainley requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.) or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. -- The Red Pen of Doom 23:40, 21 August 2012 (UTC)

Santa Monica Air Line[edit]

Thanks much for the route information. In July you added stops and mile markers to the Santa Monica Air Line page, but did not indicate where this was from. Since it would make sense to add this to the exisiting route side bar instead of the main article—especially since they now conflict, I am happy to do this as it can be tricky. Governors and secularization in Alta California[edit]

Thanks for the new article on the Mexican Secularization Act of 1833. It's an important subject deserving of its own article. A couple of points for reference:

  • There's a section on Secularization in the article Spanish missions in California#Secularization. That section has been thoroughly checked and sourced, so check to make sure information in your article agrees.
  • There's no connection between mission secularization and appointment of Mexican governors. All Spanish and Mexican Alta California governors were appointed until Alvarado's revolt in 1836. After that unrest, however, Alvarado himself was appointed to be governor.

It's good to have another editor with an interest in early California history. Welcome! WCCasey (talk) 23:50, 25 July 2015 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia from the Anatomy Wikiproject![edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia from WikiProject Anatomy! We're a group of editors who strive to improve the quality of anatomy articles here on Wikipedia. One of our members has noticed that you are involved in editing anatomy articles; it's great to have a new interested editor on board. In your wiki-voyages, a few things that may be relevant to editing wikipedia articles are:

Sobo 1909 589.png
  • Thanks for coming aboard! We always appreciate a new editor. Feel free to leave us a message at any time on the WikiProject Anatomy talk page. If you are interested in joining the project yourself, there is a participant list where you can sign up. Please leave a message on the talk page if you have any problems, suggestions, would like review of an article, need suggestions for articles to edit, or would like some collaboration when editing!
  • You will make a big difference to the quality of information by adding reliable sources. Sourcing anatomy articles is essential and makes a big difference to the quality of articles. And, while you're at it, why not use a book to source information, which can source multiple articles at once!
  • We try and use a standard way of arranging the content in each article. That layout is here. These headings let us have a standard way of presenting the information in anatomical articles, indicate what information may have been forgotten, and save angst when trying to decide how to organise an article. That said, this might not suit every article. If in doubt, be bold!
  • We write for a general audience. Every reader should be able to understand anatomical articles, so when possible please write in a simple form—most readers do not understand anatomical jargon. See this essay for more details.

Feel free to contact us on the WikiProject Anatomy talk page if you have any problems, or wish to join us. I wish you all the best on your wiki-voyages! --Tom (LT) (talk) 07:56, 23 November 2015 (UTC)

Thank you for your recent articles, including SS Cedar Rapids Victory , which I read with interest. WikiProject assessment tags for talk pages[edit]

Thank you for your recent articles, including SS Cedar Rapids Victory , which I read with interest. When you create a new article, can you add the WikiProject assessment templates to the talk of that article? See the talk page of the article I mentioned for an example of what I mean. Usually it is very simple, you just add something like {{WikiProject Keyword}} to the article's talk, with keyword replaced by the associated WikiProject (ex. if it's a biography article, you would use WikiProject Biography; if it's a United States article, you would use WikiProject United States, and so on). You do not have to rate the article if you do not want to, others will do it eventually. Those templates are very useful, as they bring the articles to a WikiProject attention, and allow them to start tracking the articles through Wikipedia:Article alerts and other tools. For example, WikiProject Poland relies on such templates to generate listings such as Article Alerts, Popular Pages, Quality and Importance Matrix and the Cleanup Listing. Thanks to them, WikiProject members are more easily able to defend your work from deletion, or simply help try to improve it further. Feel free to ask me any questions if you'd like more information about using those talk page templates. Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 12:49, 1 January 2017 (UTC)
