License tagging for Image:9605411a-92e3-47b2-a4f0-ae0c285416f7.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:9605411a-92e3-47b2-a4f0-ae0c285416f7.jpg. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 00:04, 4 June 2006 (UTC)

It might not have been your intent, but you recently removed content from Superman in popular culture. Please be careful not to remove content from Wikipedia without a valid reason, which you should specify in the edit summary or on the article's talk page. Thank you. Thanks for uploading Image:Normal Superman 1 Year Later by Dodson.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. User:Angr 08:49, 13 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Utility belts[edit]

Hey. Why, did you move Batman's utility belt to utility belt (comics)? As stated in the talk page,—which you should apparently be watching more carefully—the article is about one utility belt. Even afer your move, it was still the same article with the same focus and content. In the future, please don't move it or other articles without more thorough discussion and consensus. Also, consider making a new article or something. You could use utility belt or utility belt (comics)—which are both only redirects—as titles and starting points. Whatever you do, please just be more considerate. Wikipedia only works or "gels" when all of its users work together and pay attention to each other's actions and opinions. You action caused me to question whether I can keep working with you in good faith. Ace Class Shadow; My talk. 22:13, 9 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I mentioned it to you afterward. That's really all you deserved. I made the situation very clear on the article talk page. The fact that you just went ahead and moved it anyway shows ignorance and/or a willful disregard of objections. Wikipedia doesn't appreciate the "My way or the highway" mentality, so I'd recommend you let that behavior go. Also, I've already explained , clearly, why the article for one subject should not be moved to make it about multiple subjects. Fee free to make a new article as the redirects, as I stated before. But realize your move has no defense. Also, keep calm and WP:CIVILIcivil. I'd rather not see another angry comment on my talk page. Ace Class Shadow; My talk. 23:15, 16 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Watchmen.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Watchmen.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Unspecified source for Image:Batbullet.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Batbullet.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then you need to specify who owns the copyright, please. If you got it from a website, then a link to the website where it was taken from with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 04:43, 17 January 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. — pd_THOR | =/\= | 04:43, 17 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Tgunn -- I have attempted to help you out by supplying partial fair-use rational on the image's page. I have not, however removed pd_THOR's tags. If you would double-check the rational I have provided (which I believe to be correct) and fill out any missing information, the tag can then be removed once the rational is complete. ~CS 23:14, 27 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image copyright problem with Image:Utilitybelt01.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading Image:Utilitybelt01.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. BJTalk 04:03, 28 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Doomed.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Doomed.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 01:19, 3 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
