Okay hi um I'm new here and I don't understand these rules or why i can't edit the season 5 page of teenage mutant ninja turtles. Every time i do edit the page i get reported or blocked or something and i don't understand why. In the tmnt fandom there is a controversy between wether or not the mutant apocalypse story arc is canon or not. The creator of the show, Ciro Nieli, and one of the producers of the show, Brandon Auman, have told me on MY instagram that it is canon and i have been told that instagram is not a reliable source but its the only thing i got (Redacted) Also IMDB agrees with me to all u have to do is scroll down [1]

People have been talking to you, and you have been ignoring what they are saying. Here on Wikipedia, we simply do not care what the fandom thinks, and something you learned on Instagram will never, ever, ever be acceptable here. Talking is a two way process. Trying to bring some clarity[edit]

Hi. I'm going to try to help you out here by explaining what's going on.

First, the sources, specifically the Instagram links. The problem with the Instagram links is that they are not directly from the show's creators. They're screenshots from your account, as you said. Screenshots are incredibly easy to fake, so we can't trust screenshots from just anyone. If the original messages are public (I'm guessing they're on Twitter), then you should link to them directly. (And of course we need some way to know that the accounts belong to the actual creators. Hopefully that's not going to be a problem.)

Second, your attitude. Sorry, there's no better way to put it. I understand you have strong feelings about certain aspects of the show. But begging people to let your changes stay isn't appropriate. And you shouldn't belittle other editors by saying things like they "aren't a true fan." We all should have a civil discussion and try to cooperate.

To be blunt, Thefinalchaper. you have a fundamental misunderstanding of what Wikipedia is and what it is not. Although it may just be a website, a great many people use Wikipedia as a first resource and thus the material here must be verifiable. If you want to understand what that means from our perspective, read this link, WP:V, and this one WP:RS. Also, Wikipedia is not Wikia, we have rules and guidelines so no, you are not allowed to "edit it so it can satisfy me and other people". If you want a site where you can edit according to your own rules, then it is a simple matter to go and create your own Wikia.

Your block will last a month, and in that time I recommend you read the policies, which are listed here WP:5P. Scroll down to the bottom where it says "Wikipedia key policies and guidelines" and click the Show link on the right. The links that you need to read are listed under Content and marked with a green tick. Those are Policies and what all editors abide by here. Don't worry about the other ones yet. Just stick to the content ones. The ones marked with a blue tick are guidelines. While they do not have the same strength as Policies, which tend to be fairly rigid, most editors follow them like policies. It is highly recommend you read those after you have read the Policies.
