Templates

A template on my watchlist that had had an accurate designation on it for a long time was changed, with no discussion or meaningful edit note, to a version that was less accurate. I returned it to the status quo, with an edit note explaining my reasons. Rather than open discussion at that point, you started editwar activity by reverting to your change, ignoring the shortcoming in it that I had pointed out, and leaving a sarcastic edit note. Do you believe that the phrase "North America" adequately defines and describes the membership of CONCACAF? If not (and I can only hope that you agree that it does not), and you have become aware that some other templates erroneously summarise it in those terms, then it is in your power to correct those other templates, not to render this one incorrect for the sake of some objective of "matching", nor to assume that I can divine to which templates you are referring. Country data African Union

Hi Tibullus,
I'm afraid I had to delete {{Country data African Union}}: The image it used, File:Flag of the African Union 2010.svg, is non-free and may not be used indiscriminately by that flag template. It's a rather stupid situation since many other union flags are free enough for such use. The African Union is not alone in this though, we have the same problem with for example ASEAN. If interested, the deletion discussion of the previous version of the flag is at commons:Commons:Deletion requests/Logo of the African Union.svg.

Volleyball players

I have seen that you edited some volleyball articles. Some players articles, most of them looks outdated. I would like to improve players by country. Could you please choose a country to contribute with? Please take a look on Yekaterina Gamova, Hélia Souza, Serena Ortolani and Kenia Carcaces for a model to follow. Taça de Portugal

Olá aos utilizadores Secretaria e Tibullus.

Gostaria de pedir ajuda no que diz respeito à manutenção da página da Taça de Portugal, que é constantemente vandalizada por alguns anónimos que teimam em alterar os conteúdos com base no argumento de que o Campeonato de Portugal não conta para as estatísticas desta. Como é sabido, a competição que premiava o vencedor com a "Táça de Portugal" continuou a ser disputada nos mesmos moldes do Campeonato de Portugal e todos os vencedores desde 1922 até hoje estão inscritos no troféu exposto na sede da Federação Portuguesa de Futebol. Por exemplo, o vencedor da prova em 1924, o Olhanense, tem exactamente uma inscrição idêntica à do vencedor de 1961, o Leixões, ou à do Beira-Mar em 1999.

Foi questão de debate se no período de 1934-1938 o campeão nacional de futebol em Portugal era o vencedor da I Liga ou do Campeonato de Portugal (a própria imprensa debatia o assunto à época), por isso em 1938, a nomenclatura das provas foi alterada e ficou oficialmente acordado que o único campeão nacional seria o que vencesse a I Liga (renomeada para Campeonato Nacional da 1ª Divisão). Contudo historicamente os troféus nunca foram alterados e, por uma questão de coerência, não faz sentido estar a discriminar o que conta ou não baseado em empiricismos. A competição manteve-se disputada nos mesmos moldes e o troféu manteve-se sempre inalterado.

Se há contas quanto à legitimidade de quem, a dado ano, era o verdadeiro campeão nacional, essa é outra contabilidade, pois a dúvida poderia estender-se até finais dos anos 40, quando as equipas eram apuradas para o 1º escalão por convite baseado nas classificações distritais de apenas algumas associações, sendo o sistema de promoção/relegação nacional só implementado em 1947 com o fim dos campeonatos distritais. Poderíamos então até argumentar que até 1947 a única prova de cariz verdadeiramente nacional seria à Taça de Portugal, mas olhe-se porque perspectiva se olhar, o Benfica tem 27 réplicas da "Táça de Portugal", Sporting e Porto têm 19 cada um, o Belenenses detém 6 troféus exactamente idênticos e assim sucessivamente.
