References[edit]

I see that at Isle of Wight you had got confused with the syntax for references. Try reading WP:Referencing for beginners. --David Biddulph (talk) 13:59, 26 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

September 2014[edit]

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Isle of Wight may have broken the syntax by modifying 2 "{}"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

List of unpaired brackets remaining on the page:
  • Fallow and Red being seen in recent years, the latter of which are breeding in the wild.<ref>{{cite web | url http://www.mammal.org.uk/60for60_weekly_blogs/there-are-deer-isle-wight</ref> <ref>{{

Isle of Wight[edit]

Hello Timbrayford. I have reverted your edits about deer on the Isle of Wight, for several reasons. First, the references that you used were blogs; these are not generally considered acceptable sources on Wikipedia (see here). Second, it appears that the references were written by yourself; this may constitute a conflict of interest, which can also be problematic. Third, the references appear to be original research, which is not allowed on Wikipedia. Please do not restore the information you added. If you have questions regarding this matter, I recommend you start a discussion on the article's talk page. Thanks. PaleCloudedWhite (talk) 07:19, 7 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Also please do not remove cited content (that does not come from a blog) just because you personally disagree with it. The information in Wikipedia is based on sources, not personal opinions. PaleCloudedWhite (talk) 07:50, 7 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Minor edits[edit]

Great to see new editors coming to Wikipedia, so welcome. Can I make a polite request that you don't mark edits as minor unless they really are? If you need guidance on this, please see WP:MINOR, and if you're ever unsure whether to make an edit, there is always the article's talk page to discuss it first. Cheers!
