Yet another table to convert

[edit]

I'd do it, but you seem to be so efficient at it-- It wasn't in List of dog breeds, undoubtedly my brain lapse since I think I create the article originally. Elf | Talk 05:17, 18 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image Upload

[edit]

Thanks. It was my first image upload and came out so big that I feel embarassed. Yes, I have plenty of pix which I take in the New York dog ring, so will fish them out later and try to upload them. The preceding unsigned comment was added by Harry Rolnick (talk • contribs) .}

Many thanks. These were my first entries, since I've been in Asia the past few years. But hope to be a fast learner.

Boston Globe story

[edit]

Dear Trysha,

A colleague and I are working on a Boston Globe story about wikipedia, and we are looking for a few local folks -- we have talked to several already -- who like to contribute and have views about the project. It appears to me that male Wikipedians are more common than women, and I'd very much like to talk to one or two women contributors. Will you call me at 617 929-3263? Or you could also email me at mehegan@globe.com if you want to suggest a number where and time when I could call you. I'm thinking of a short chat on the phone. Also, it's possible that we would want to take your picture.

Thanks so much,

David Mehegan

An interesting thought

[edit]

Doesn't it make you wonder that most of the infighting in dog articles is related to dog fighting and dog fighting breeds? Elf | Talk 21:26, 22 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Shiloh Shepherd

[edit]

Re: Shiloh Shepherd Dog Page

Jareth posted it would be nice to add a 3rd photo of a Shiloh Shepherd (a "smooth coat") to the article. I have a GFDL (self-made) photo of one if you would like to move it into the article. Feel free to do so.

. Please advise.

Thank you. MilesD. 22:42, 27 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I just happened to bip over here to be sure trysha was on the kennel club list (above) and saw this. I'll post. Elf | Talk 23:11, 27 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Rimadyl

[edit]

There really is no reason to remove the information on Rimadyl. That is quality information about the drug which personally has saved many dogs from deaths after dog owners have read this and emailed me after recognizing symptoms. There is benefit to many dog owners to have this information available to them. Should I contact the help desk at wikipedia to get this issue resolved? Regards...Bill The preceding unsigned comment was added by Bigwali (talk • contribs) .

The external link he added to Coastal Pet Rescue is not advertising. It has its own Wikipedia entry and is a nonprofit animal shelter. It has won many awards. Please do research before reverting legitimate contributions. Thanks. --BWD 02:33, 14 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Trysha/archive3, and thank you for your support in my request for adminship! It passed with a final count of 98/2/0. If there is anything I can do to help you, please leave me a message on my talk page! -- xaosflux Talk
[edit]

Hello Trysha, Thanks for notifying that side. I think you need to create an image(with suited copyright-tag) that can be put there, if you did not have that kind of image, just plaease create an empty image like cricketers' infoboxes have . Thanks -- Shyam (T/C) 15:18, 1 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

JKF PREP/SDS

[edit]

I came across the JKF PREP/SDS.You had some dealings with the person who started this article. Okay the title is wrong;it should be: JFK PREP/SDS.This Roman Catholic school in St. Nazianz, Wisconsin was renamed after John Kennedy. The Salvatorians ran the school-they are a Roman Catholic religious order for men. This article has a NPOV tag. I might be able to do something with thw article, but this would mean starting over.Right now, I am trying to track down an alumni association for the Salvation Seminary/JFK Prep students.Would you please make the immediate correction of the article from JKF PREP/SDS to JFK PREP/SDS.Please let myself know of any other ideas you might have.Thank youRFD 19:13, 4 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

My RfA

[edit]

Thank you for your support in my request for adminship. I'm delighted that the RfA succeeded with a final consensus of 52/17/7, and receiving comments including having 'excellent potential to become a great moderator', and I am now an administrator. It did however only just pass, and I shall do my very best to rectify any of my errors, including the general belief that I should do more article work. If you have any concerns, or if you ever feel that I may be able to help you, please feel free to leave a message on my talk page. Again, thank you!

Bulldog spam

Cool, I didn't even know there were other spam templates...I'll have to look into that. Thanks! OhNoitsJamieTalk 22:52, 12 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

adding clubs

[edit]

I take exception to a few key aspects of Wikipedia's effusions.

It would be charitable of me not to mention that Wikipedia's shell games do not pass muster by any objective standards. Fortunately, I am not beset by a spirit of false charity, so I will instead maintain that its apothegms are complete drivel.

Answer me this: If there is a SECTION for CLUBS, why can I NOT add my own?? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by K9to5 (talkcontribs) .

oh sorry if I did something wrong..

[edit]

I thougth it would been usefull to make a list of site relative to the document at hand... and I wanted to add my content but after reading (that it is not accepted to add content as is already on a site) I thought it would be also usefull to at least add a link to the site.

I didnt mean to do anything wrong....

Additions to the Pocket Dragon Article

[edit]

Sorry I didn't quite understand the Wikipedia rules but it was never my intention of putting commerciall inks to the page.

My links are relevent.......

How is a dog forum not relvent under Disscussion forums for dogs..... I dont see how that is not relevent or commertial?

Uploading Images

[edit]

Trysha- I've got a good shot of my old Field Spaniel ready to take over from that spaniel-that-isn't-a-Field on the Field Spaniel page. I just don't know how to do it, so if you could help me out, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

Basset Hound

[edit]

Hello,

Why did you change the "Flush" to "Flash" That does not make any sense. Why would they name the fake dog the same as the real dog? Check this out ~~ Several dogs were used during the filming of the series including a life-sized stuffed replica of the sixty-pound canine called "Flush" used for dangerous situations - http://www.tvacres.com/dogs_bassett_flash.htm

Sorry, I misread your edit and interpreted it as vandalism. I should have been more careful. Thanks for fixing it. Trysha (talk) 16:15, 12 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Etymology Online doesn't mention what?

[edit]

G'day Trysha. I've just seen your 2nd removal the Etymology Online link from the Dog article, and noted your comment. Ummmmm... What doesn't Etymology Online mention? It can't be the origin "dogca", because it's there ("O.E. docga, a late, rare word used of a powerful breed of canine") in B&W. On the other hand, it could be User:Paul from MichiganTalk's contribution from 26 June, which doesn't draw heavily from OE.

I didn't see Paul's offering until well after you had removed the OE link on 28 June, and by that time, given the lapse, I figured it wouldn't be worth the hassle of reverting it, and besides, what he wrote isn't garbage. At least he kept the OE link!

I really don't want to start an edit war, but I also really really want an explanation of what is wrong with the OE link, especially as you are the only person who sees a problem with it. Gordon | Talk, 14 July 2006 @14:10 UTC
