Hello - this (UEFAlinks) is an internal project from UEFA almost exclusively to fix broken links since the urls on UEFA.com have recently changed making almost all past links for match reports etc different.

Welcome, and thanks[edit]

Hi, standard template to say welcome below, but thank you for working on the UEFA links. MANY need fixing, so your assistance is greatly appreciated! The Rambling Man (Stay indoors, stay safe!!!!) 10:36, 12 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:NewUEFAlogo.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:NewUEFAlogo.jpg, which you've attributed to UEFA. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 21:29, 21 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Notice of noticeboard discussion[edit]

Information icon There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you.--Govvy (talk) 11:32, 20 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi - I'm Girth Summmit, an administrator here. My attention has been drawn to your userpage, where you say that this account is being used as part of a UEFA project. Please could you review our username policy? Usernames that represent organisations or imply shared use are not permitted; I'd also point out that, per WP:NOSHARING, more than one person is not permitted to edit from the same account. Judging from the comments I see above, you have been making useful edits to the encyclopedia, which I thank you for, but I'd be grateful if you could confirm that only one person will ever edit from this account, and if you would consider changing your username by making a request at WP:UNC. If there are several people editing from this account, I'd suggest that you each create an individual account; note that, while usernames that purely represent organisations aren't permitted, names that include the name of an organisation are fine, so a name like 'Susan@UEFAlinks' would not be a problem.
Just so you aware, we also have guidelines on editing with a conflict of interest, and on editing for pay (for example as part of your job). Please read these carefully and comply with the requirements - let me know if you have any questions about them. Thanks GirthSummit (blether) 11:44, 20 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello The UEFAlinks thing came after discussions between some people at UEFA (my bosses) and Wikipedia, basically to fix all the broken UEFA.com links on wikipedia which are legion, due to a change in how UEFA.com urls are built. Can provide more info though the relevant people (2 of them) are away for the rest of this month. Anyway I have made a request to change the username to UEFAlinks_Paul (which is me, and in any case uses my email address). UEFAlinks (talk) 14:25, 20 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for confirming. So, please can you read those links I gave you about COI and paid editing - they both apply to you in this case. Fixing links to UEFA websites would, in my view, be sufficiently uncontroversial that you would be able to do that directly within articles, but for anything more substantial than that you should consider making an edit request on the relevant talk page. Please also make the appropriate disclosures on your userpage, as given in that guidance. I'm grateful to you for looking to fix our articles, but people editing as part of their jobs makes people twitchy around here - best to follow the rules carefully. ArbCom 2020 Elections voter message[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2020 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 7 December 2020. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2020 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 02:57, 24 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
