Removing artical improvement candidates
[edit]Thanks for notifying about that, I am extremely sorry. I will take care of that in future. Regards, Shyam (T/C) 21:02, 1 April 2006 (UTC)
- It's done now. I have not removed them from removed section right now, if they got enough votes to retain in less than 3 hours, i will remove them. Cheers, Shyam (T/C) 21:15, 1 April 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for visiting at my edit counter. No, I am not a bot. I do all the things manually. I like to do so. One more thing, actual contribution in March is about 15,000 in which approximately 5,000 images have been deleted. I am associated with untagged image project too. Regards, Shyam (T/C) 06:35, 2 April 2006 (UTC)
Thank you
[edit]Thanks for your support in my RFA. The final vote count was (88/3/1), so I am now an administrator. Please let me know if at any stage you require assistance, or if you have comments on how I am doing as an administrator. Once again thank you and with kind regards Gryffindor 18:22, 2 April 2006 (UTC) |

şehir isimleri
[edit]Selam Uğur,
History of Turkey sayfasına bakarsan şehirlerin çogunun latince ve yunanca isimleri oldugunu görürsün. Muhabbetle, --TuzsuzDeliBekir 17:14, 3 April 2006 (UTC)
- Merhaba TuzsuzDeliBekir, şu sıralarda gerçek yaşam işlerinden vikiye ciddi anlamda fazla zaman ayıramıyorum ama senin eklemiş olduğun o sayfalar dikkatimi çekti. Bir kaç tanesine copy-edit yaptılar sanırım. History of Turkey sayfasının zaten ciddi anlamda genişletilmeye ihtiyacı var. İyi çalışmalar --Ugur Basak 19:01, 3 April 2006 (UTC)
- Tekrar selam, evet birkaç sayfayı copy-edit yaptılar. Ben elimden geldiğince uğraşıyorum. Şİmdi Anadolu beylikleri ile ilgili tek tek yazmaya başlıcam. Umarım yüzüm kara çıkmam bu işten. Sevgilerle, --TuzsuzDeliBekir 19:19, 3 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit]Sorry about the sluggish reply, my blackberry was hating me and wouldn't let me type anything in. I've taken a look at the edit, I think I know how I can prevent it and I'll implement it. Sorry about that talk page message / revert its fully automated and isn't quite 100% yet (though its fairly close). Again, sorry about that and I'll implement the fix right away -- Tawker 23:07, 3 April 2006 (UTC)

Do you know its name in Turkish? I know that it's somthing like Serhat, but I need that in plain Turkish language. Thanks, mate! --HolyRomanEmperor 15:16, 13 April 2006 (UTC)
- This time i'm really sorry. I checked online sources, then searched on encyclopedias at home but can't find anything. At least i can tell you Krajina is used in Turkish encs. And about Serhat, it means border, frontier. I guess they only used Serhat word, when i search online Turkish sources on google there are enough references. Again sorry. Take care --Ugur Basak 19:03, 13 April 2006 (UTC)
- Oh, this was a misunderstanding. What I meant is could you type that in Turkish letters for me to copy-paste? Thanks in advance! --HolyRomanEmperor 15:12, 14 April 2006 (UTC)
- Ok, Serhat is plain Turkish for frontier, actually its meaning is Sınır boyu. Serhat is an old word Ser is Persian and hadd is Arabic :). Serhat is used as person name in Turkey, Sınır boyu is modern Turkish word for Serhat. And to help you i add some references to Bosnia and Serhat
- Oh, this was a misunderstanding. What I meant is could you type that in Turkish letters for me to copy-paste? Thanks in advance! --HolyRomanEmperor 15:12, 14 April 2006 (UTC)

- Merhaba Karaman sanırım ne yaptığının farkında değilsin, bunun nedeni wiki yapısına yeni olmandan kaynaklanıyor olabilir. Bu farka bakarsan sen maddenin içinde bulunan metni siliyorsun, o yüzden eski haline geri getirdim. Bunu 2. kez düzeltiyorum resim orada kalabilir ama metni niye kaldırdığını anlayamadım. Kolay gelsin. --Ugur Basak 08:44, 14 April 2006 (UTC)

{{Turkey-geo-stub}} split
[edit]Thanks for your reply. Of course, I checked before and found that there were regions. However, the geography stubs are sorted by province. I can't quite tell where certain provinces fall with respect to the regions, and so I need help clarifying which provinces are classified under which regions. Can you recommend a resource? User:Retau and User:Moby Dick
[edit]Both these are the sockpuppets of a Kurdish extremist trying to push kurdish pov on turkish related articles. Look at the edit history for Doğubeyazıt and Elazığ. Is there any action we can take against this?--Teccen 13:17, 28 April 2006 (UTC)
- I am no one's sockpuppet. --Moby 13:20, 28 April 2006 (UTC)
- Hi Teccen if you think something is wrong, you can check this page Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard. It can attract sysop attention. And these pages are more specific Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents, Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/3RR and Wikipedia:Requests for CheckUser. But first its better to solve the problems with that users, if you can't come to an agreement with other users you can report them. Btw try to avoid WP:3RR, you and other users who involved in 3RR can be blocked. Try to discuss in related article discussion pages. Cheers --Ugur Basak 14:22, 28 April 2006 (UTC)

02:16, 29 April 2006 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.174.201.38 (talk • contribs)

- şimdi Turkey sayfasını tekrar inceledim ve nedense dış bağlantı sayısını çok azaltmışlar nedenini öğrenmeden bunu eklememiz komik olabilir sen istersen ekleyebilirsin bir neden belirterek. Ben tekrar göz atarım --Ugur Basak 14:07, 1 May 2006 (UTC)
help with translation
[edit]Hello, could you help me find a suitable word for "altyapilar" in English? I was looking around the dictionaries online but couldn't find anything tht would mean the same for this term used in music. Thank you. --Teemeah Gül Bahçesi 11:21, 29 April 2006 (UTC)
and the full sentence? 19:50, 30 April 2006 —Preceding unsigned comment added by Teltel (talk • contribs)
- there's no full sentece, it is the term itself. They use it in album covers:
Altaypilar: Haluk Kurosman (see maNga (album))
As I said it is a term used in music. --Teemeah Gül Bahçesi 13:34, 1 May 2006 (UTC)
- Hi Teemah sorry for this late answer i wasn't active this weekend, and i don't ask that and the full sentence? part. First of all correct form is altyapı it's difficult for me to give you and exact translation but i'll try to help you. this is a link for meanings of altyapı but none of them give proper meaning. But most proper word is underwork:low-level work. Really if i can see a sentence it would be better, but Altyapılar: Haluk Kurosman can mean musical underwork or maybe in technical part. Maybe about rhythm etc. Haluk Kurosman seems to be producer. I hope that will help you --Ugur Basak 13:58, 1 May 2006 (UTC)
- thanks. I translated it as underworks, for I didn't fin any suitable translations at all, also. Maybe someone with a musical background could...? yes haluk kurosman is the producer of maNga'ss elf-titled album :) there's no problem with that, I wrote the article, LOL. :D I was just not sure how to translate altyapilar correctly. I know it separately means alt - low, under, down, yapi - work but ... anyway. Thank for the help. --Teemeah Gül Bahçesi 12:40, 2 May 2006 (UTC)
- Really its a tough word to translate, it has a wide usage but difficult to translate directly. I just search on google and find these "müzikal altyapısını kısa zamanda oluşturmayı başarır." one of many links to müzik+altyapı. I guess you can understand that sentence, it just says in short time he succeed to form his musical underworks or we can just say basics or his style:) Really a tough one. Btw, i guess you've translated Şebnem Ferah article to :hu from :en which i translated from :tr. Görüşmek üzere. --Ugur Basak 13:08, 2 May 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks a bunch :) Yes I did the translation of the sebnem ferah article. I take care of the Turkey portal as well. And right now I'm in the middle of translating all the provinces and cities into Hungarian. Tough job, there are so many :P --Teemeah Gül Bahçesi 13:22, 2 May 2006 (UTC)
{{Turkey-geo-stub}}
[edit]Hi again, I finally took care of creating and sorting the stubs. In sorting them, I discovered some stubs which rely upon the 1911 Encyclopedia for their information, meaning that their information references Ottoman provinces, etc, as being up to date. Because some of the information may still be relevant or otherwise useful, I don't want to delete the articles. However, at the moment I don't have access to references on the subject. Could you check the articles or suggest someone who can (or a suitable reference online)? Aelfthrytha 04:39, 5 May 2006 (UTC)
- Hi Aelfthrytha sorry for late answer i was busy with real life stuff. If you can show me links, i can try to take care of them. If i could not do it, i'll try to find help:) --Ugur Basak 16:14, 10 May 2006 (UTC)
- Here are the relevant articles (which I could find right now): Enos, Turkey, Euyuk, Iskelib, Süleymanli, and Yuzgat. All of them reference which vilayets they were located in, as well as some discussing what sanjak. Of. How current. Aelfthrytha 17:39, 10 May 2006 (UTC)
- Aelfthrytha, i can take care of these. Maybe some of them can be merged like Yozgat and Yuzgat, both is about same subject. When i finish updating them i will inform you. --Ugur Basak 17:43, 10 May 2006 (UTC)

Can you help me?
[edit]Could you help me with defining what "yüksek lisans" is in English? I need a proper equivalent. Is it some stage after finishing uni but before starting a PhD programme...? or the PhD programme itself? Or something completely different? One of my friends is going to be a "yüksek mimar" and I'd like to know what kind of architect he actually is going to be :). Yardimin icin tesekkürler --Teemeah Gül Bahçesi 08:59, 26 May 2006 (UTC)
- I don't know the exact term in english, but it must be graduate or postgraduate:) As you say it's after finishing university but befor starting PhD. But it's not necessary to start PhD without yüksek lisans. like; both of these ara possible. university -> yüksek lisans -> PhD and university -> PhD . I guess this page can be the exact term Master's degree. Now i've to quit, if you want more explaination i could help you:) Saygılar --Ugur Basak 10:00, 26 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit]i've blocked our burak friend again, this time for 48 hours. Please be aware, in the future, that 3rr applies to everyone, and you too have reverted more than 3 times today. as burak's edits are border-line vandalism--at the very least they show a complete disregard for wikipedia policy and the manual of style--you won't be blocked. But just please keep that in mind when dealing with people, as you, too, are edit warring . . . cheers, and happy editing. --heah 19:13, 30 August 2006 (UTC)
- Heah you are right, i realized my 3rd revert after i did it and started thinking will i be blocked for this:) but i won't make a foolish mistake in future like this. Next time after my 1st (or 2nd revert) i will let others or admins to deal reverting etc. But i'm not sure what can be done with Burak18, he seems to not mind warnings etc. Btw as you can see in history part he understands English and he made an interesting edit summary:) I've one more question, adding continously inappropriate content like "rumoured transfers" etc. count as vandalism or not? Do you've any advice for dealing this kind of users? Cheers --Ugur Basak 19:33, 30 August 2006 (UTC)
