Adding reference to Wikipedia articles
[edit]Hello Uploadsou14! Please do not forget to add references from reliable sources for the content you add to Wikipedia. This helps maintain our policy of verifiability. Adding well-formatted references is easy.
- While editing any article or a wikipage, on the top of the edit window you will see a toolbar which says "cite". Click on it.
- Then click on "templates".
- Choose the most appropriate template and then fill all relevant details. You can start with the field (e.g. URL) that has a magnifying glass icon and then click the magnifying glass to automatically populate the fields for you.
This will add a well-formatted reference, which will allow other people to see where you got your information from. You can read more about this at Help:Edit toolbar, or watch this video: File:RefTools.ogv. Thanks and regards. —DBigXrayᗙ 19:23, 23 January 2019 (UTC)

[edit]DBigXray Please publish my two articles. These are about two places in West Bengal India the history of which not known to everyone. Bhandirban is related to Lord Krishna and Bahira MaaKaali is related to Vedic he did his. Please help to let people know about the truth- not only popularised truth. Article Publish.
[edit]The article name which I previously noted as Bahira. The correct will be BEHIRA instead. Sir please change the draft name as Behira Kaalimaata. Behira- is a village at Purandarpur block , in Birbhum District .Goddesses name is in the name of village.
Bhandirban/ Bhandir Bon/Bhandier Bon- all are same names of a village in Khatanga Gram- Panchayat in Birbhum District. As Lord Krishna wished he is called Bhandirban Gopal.
Uploadsou14 (talk) 07:40, 24 January 2019 (UTC)
- I will change the names but need sources first, Please provide reliable sources such as newspaper website article link or government website link to prove the correct name of the temple. Also add these refs into the draft. No article can be published if the WP:NOTABILITY is not proved. generally articles of villages can be published if it can be proved that the village exists and name can be checked in reliable sources according to WP:V. The temple should be independently notable with many news paper articles published about the temple in media, only then can it have a separate article. If the newspapers do not consider the temple as important enough to publish articles about the temple then the temple article will have to be merged with the village article where it exists. --DBigXrayᗙ 12:54, 24 January 2019 (UTC)
- Remember Wikipedia:Wikipedia is not a reliable source. So do not add wikipedia URL as a source or reference, it will not help the draft.--DBigXrayᗙ 20:38, 24 January 2019 (UTC)
I am hopeless now. Creating a dozens of edit and looking at other articles I now know that all my attempts have gone in vain. It seems that any issue will be raised whether I do any changes .A pilgrimage site will remain under dark. Wikipedia is a site for known things only. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Uploadsou14 (talk • contribs) 20:53, 24 January 2019 (UTC)
- Do not loose hope. I have copied your comment and I will reply here to keep the discussion at one place. The thing is Wikipedia can only have articles on subjects that are notable. Wikipedia cannot be used for promotional purpose or advertisement of a temple or a tourist destination. That is the job of government. If the place that you are trying to write article about, is important then the local newspapers will publish articles about the place. You can use those articles to create a Draft and that draft will be approved. If you are unable to find any newspaper article or mention in reliable books about the place, then it means that Media and authors do not consider that place as a notable place and they will ignore it. If there is nothing in the media, then Wikipedia cannot have an article about it. Because it will be impossible to verify any claims made in the article about the place because there is no reliable source such as newspaper or books or magazines talking about the place. --DBigXrayᗙ 21:02, 24 January 2019 (UTC)
- If you want to write about this tourist destination then perhaps Wikipedia:Wikivoyage is a better place for the kind of tour guides that you are trying to write here. So you should create a page on Wikivoyage. --DBigXrayᗙ 21:14, 24 January 2019 (UTC)
- Remember, even if the draft has been declined, you still have six months time to improve the draft and add good reliable sources to the article. The draft will not be deleted for another six months. So no need to take screenshots of the page and no need to upload these useless screenshots. Please use the time to search for the good sources. If you can solve the sourcing issue, and then resubmit it for review then the article can be published. Do not submit the draft again without adding good sources. I do not have any power to publish the article that does not have proper sourcing. Only you can help with that. hope you understand. thanks. --DBigXrayᗙ 22:08, 25 January 2019 (UTC)

The file File:Draft Bahira Kaalimaata.pdf has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
This is a screenshot of a declined draft on wikipedia, with no useful purpose. The new user seems to have created this to preserve the draft in fear that the draft will be deleted since it has been declined. I have explained the new user that the draft can stay for six months, for him to rework.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.
Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. DBigXrayᗙ 22:18, 25 January 2019 (UTC)

[edit]Hi User:Chandan Guha I feel that this Draft:Bahira Kaalimaata is a non notable temple in either located in Purandarpur village or near to it. see Purandarpur#Places_of_interest. The draft Draft:Bahira Kaalimaata can either be converted to a Beharia village article and the temple can be a section of the village article. Or else if the temple is notable enough to have its own article, then it can have a seperate page. What is your advice here. thanks. --DBigXrayᗙ 23:41, 25 January 2019 (UTC)
- Census data includes a place called Beharia with a population of 707 in 2011. Google maps show Beharia as being located near Purandarpur. Behira Kali Mondir is shown in the map. There also are a Dharmaraj temple and 2 Shiva temples in the vicinity. What the editor has placed as sources hardly refers to any notability of the temple. The “history” is mostly hear-say, so common in our country. My opinion is that neither Behira Kali Mondir nor Beharia village deserve a separate page with mostly unsourced hear-say information, but it can be included in the Purandarpur page. There can be rethinking on the matter if the editor furnishes further reliable source material. Cheers. - Chandan Guha (talk) 01:24, 26 January 2019 (UTC)
- Chandan Guha thanks a lot for your kind response on this. I agree with your advise and suggestion to proceed here. Let's see if this editor can find further reliable sources on Beharia or this temple . --DBigXrayᗙ 01:40, 26 January 2019 (UTC)

Behira Kaalimaata Maata
[edit]I have given the websites of West Bengal Government Labour Ministry Hotel where village is noted as Behira. As Goddess Kaali Maata (Mother) is worshipped here She is called Bahira Kaali Maata or Behira Maakali. I am giving the Facebook page where a number of people has stated in support of the Greatness and Dignity of this Goddess. The Goddess is very old may be 3000 years as per some one.
https://m.facebook.com/people/Behira-Kali-Tala-Mondir/100009689374160
There are the pictures where the Book of History of Behira Nimbabasini Kaali Maata is noted with the name of Author also.
- Where is the link for the website of West Bengal Government Labour Ministry Hotel? it seems to forgot to post the link.
- Wikipedia cannot write what is believed by some people. Only verifieable fact from reliable source can be written into the article. Truth may be different but what is written in reliable source only counts.
- Facebook is not a reliable source for anything. pictures of facebook are of no use or help for this article. --DBigXrayᗙ 14:20, 27 January 2019 (UTC)
Bhandirban and Beharia
[edit]As per the census 2011 Bhandirban has total population of 1,168. It also marked on the Google maps and both Bhandeswar Shib Mandir and Gopal Bari are marked. On his blog page Amit Guha atleast mentions Bhandesvara as a large deul. Blogs are not generally accepted as reliable soures, but this one seems to be well researched. I feel that a page named Bhandirban may be allowed. If the editor cannot put up the census data, I can add it, after the page is put up, or I can insert it earlier also, if you so feel.
As regards Behira Kalimata Mandir, it may noted 1. Amit Guha (mentioned by the editor in connection with Bhandirban), does not mention anything about Behira Kalimata, in his long list of temples in Birbhum district. 2. Facebook entries are not considered reliable sources. 3. The West Bengal government site is under maintenance and cannot be reached, but it may just be a passing mention. 4. The question is not whether Beharia / Behira Kali Mandir exists or not but whether it is notable enough for a page in Wikipeida. The editor can enter the information with sources in the Purandarpur page.
Cheers. - Chandan Guha (talk) 03:21, 27 January 2019 (UTC)
- Yes clearly Bhandirban can have its article.
- regarding Behira/Behira Kalimata Mandir agree with all points you said. " Census data includes a place called Beharia with a population of 707 in 2011", Is this the same Beharia in Birbhaum district ? if so is is listed in the villages ? the census data listing makes it verifiable and villages are settlements that can have their own article. per WP:GEOLAND so if the Census data is indeed about this place, then we can keep this draft as a village article for Beheria. --DBigXrayᗙ 14:20, 27 January 2019 (UTC)
Behira/ Beharia
[edit]Yes,But Behira Kaali Maa is very ancient, why there is not many websites or historical statement I don't know. I am researching for books. Surely I will get. The place is ideal and favourite to Tantrik and Sadhaks , the place is inside jungle, any spiritual place has certain energy and that can be felt. Therefore I am emphasizing and place is also related to Kashi Varanasi. Then there must be some information at least mentioning in some Well known spiritual text. I want to state that this is Historical place, but Historian can pull out the fact mixed with spiritual flavour. In almost all spiritual facts there is some kind of physical truth carefully preserved like food preserved in Refrigerator. Uploadsou14 (talk) 11:55, 27 January 2019 (UTC)
- Please see Wikipedia:Verifiability, not truth. Wikipedia article can only mention what is already published in reliable media. We cannot write things based on our personal knowledge even if it is true.
- Since you are still working to find the sources, I am marking these draft as work in progress from submitted.
- Please only add lines that have a source in reliable sources.
- Either delete any line for which you cannot find source or move such lines to the article talk page, so that you can work on their sources later on.
- submit these articles for review only after these steps are taken. --DBigXrayᗙ 14:20, 27 January 2019 (UTC)

- Demographics
- As per the 2011 Census of India, Bhandirban had a total population of 1,168 of which 605 (52%) were males and 563 (48%) were females. Population below 6 years was 147. The total number of literates in Bhandirban was 704 (68.95% of the population over 6 years).[1]

- Chandan Guha, This is an excellent find. Please feel free to add this content into the draft yourself, You deserve the credits for the text and this citation. The draft will be moved into the mainspace, so its edit history will be preserved. Based on the WB govt tourist website and this census link you provided, clearly Bhandirban exists and its mention in the gov tourism site, makes the village notable enough to have its own article. So there is no reason to delete this. I will only move the draft bhandirbon to the mainspace once the citations are added or the unverified comments removed from the article.--DBigXrayᗙ 14:41, 27 January 2019 (UTC)

- The biggest problem was the sourcing and notability problem, After your hard work you have already found a few good and reliable sources that verify the existence of the village, so this article will not be deleted.
- The article has been rejected for style issues which is a very small problem to fix, Please read and follow the advice given by the reviewer and change the tone of the language. it must not be like an advertisement. you can click the blue coloured link in the advice from the reviewer to understand more on what it means.
- If you do not understand how to fix the style issues to a neutral tone, You can ask me how to do it. But first I would like you to give it a shot and do it yourself. It is not a very big issue.

- And regarding your comment
That means we common people are being traumatised in name of correction
Please understand that I am also a common person like you. Chandan Guha is also a common person just like you. The only difference is you are new to editing on wikipedia and Chandan and Myself have been editing for some time now, so there is only a difference in experience here. I have no special power to publish the articles and I have no special interest in traumatising you. Even the reviewer has replied in a very kind and gentle way explaining the problem for you to fix it. if you want to publish the article, you can fix the problem and ask me to review and then submit it again for review. I am sure if you can fix the problem the article will be published. cheers. --DBigXrayᗙ 20:19, 28 January 2019 (UTC)
- Bhandeswar Shiva Temple was rebuilt by Ramnath Bhaduri, the Diwan of Murshidabad Nawab Muhhammad-Ul- Zaman Khan in the year 1754.
- The above line should be included in the Shiva temple section.
- Bhandirban village is a heritage tourism site in Birbhum district of West Bengal state
- Can you mention the line from the source that states the above information. The source you linked in the line does not say this. Please add the source with the link.
- This place was under Zemindari of Burdwan Maharaja [2] in British Era.There are two heritage temple
- Which source says that is a heritage temple, can you please mention the line of the source that states it is a heritage temple.
- Gopal Bari also known as Gopal Mandir is a temple of Lord Gopal
- This should be changed and copy edited to say. Gopal Bari also known as Gopal Mandir is a temple dedicated to the deity Krishna.
- Local legend says that when a hermit named Dhruv Goswami[9] has placed the idol of Lord Gopal during his wanderings at Bhandirban at present temple site. The Lord then refused to go further and from then on he is worshipped here.
- This should be changed and copy edited to say. According to the local legend, a hermit Dhruv Goswami while wandering at Bhandirban had placed the idol of Gopal. The idol then refused to move from the location it was placed after which it is being worshipped there and a temple was built at that location.
- Can you provide the lines from the source 9 that says this ? Copy paste the line in English here on this talk page.
- At back side of this Gopal Mandir there is Bhandeswar Shiv Mandir[10][2] .
- This should be changed and copy edited to say. Bhandeshwar Shiv Mandir is located behind the Gopal Mandir.
Please provide the sources I asked above, here as a reply on this talk page. Then make these changes that I suggested above into the article --DBigXrayᗙ 11:00, 30 January 2019 (UTC)
A stone-plate on top of the temple describes its origin in Sanskrit. As to the image of Gopala the legend says that in course of his wanderings a hermit named Dhruba Goswami came to this place at the end of the 15th century. He had twelve images of Gopala with him, and when after two days he was about to leave the place he could not move an image of Gopala which got stuck there. The temple on top of it was later erected by Ramnath Bhaduri. Fairs and festivals on the eve of Goshthashtami are celebrated every year there in the Bengali month of Kartik.[1] Uploadsou14 (talk) 17:25, 30 January 2019 (UTC)

- Please read WP:INDENT and stop making new section again and again, you can use the existing thread and comment on the existing thread that has the same name.
- I got a mail from you that said. "Now as the site is mentioned in Archeological Survey of India report I had previously included as heritage tourist sit e."
- If the site is mentioned in Archaeological Survey of India report, it only means that it is "mentioned in Archaeological Survey of India Report", it does not mean that this temple has become a "Heritage tourist site." the word has a different meaning, unless clearly mentioned by an official document that it is a heritage site, you cannot just make up things that it is a heritage site. Stating wrong things without sources is another reason why the article does not gets published, we should only state in our own words, what is mentioned in the reliable sources. Done
- Thanks for sharing the quote from the original source, As you can read above, this is clearly different from what you wrote in the article. In the article you wrote "According to the local legend a hermit Dhruv Goswami[8][9] while wandering at Bhandirban had placed the idol of Gopal. The idol then refused to go from the location it was placed after which it is being worshipped there and a temple was built at that location."
- The source never said that the "idol refused to be moved", the source says that the idol was stuck there. Done
- So the lines should be corrected to state.
- "The stone plate on the temple credits the origin of the temple to a local legend, according to which a hermit Dhruv Goswami[8][9] while wandering at Bhandirban had placed on the ground, the twelve image of Gopal he was carrying. One of the images got stuck on the location where it was placed after which a temple was built at that location, by Ramnath Bhaduri." Done
- You can also include the information about the fairs and festivals and mention the same reference. Done--DBigXrayᗙ 03:29, 31 January 2019 (UTC)
I have included the corrected portion as per guideline. Please see SirUploadsou14 (talk) 06:13, 31 January 2019 (UTC)
- You have said in the article that wandering at Bhandirban had placed on the ground, the twelve idol of Gopal he was carrying . but the source says he was carrying pictures, so please correct it and make it picture. No need to e-mail me again and again, I am checking this page regularly, just reply here and WP:PING me from here. Done --DBigXrayᗙ 06:22, 31 January 2019 (UTC)
- The article says Bhandirban [1]village is a famous tourist destination, but the source, district website, only lists him in a list of tourist destination. it does not say it is famous. either add source that says it is a famous tourist destination or remove the word famous entirely. Done --DBigXrayᗙ 07:09, 31 January 2019 (UTC)
- Who is Ramnath Bhaduri ? "Ramnath Bhaduri, the Diwan of Murshidabad Nawab Muhhammad-Ul- Zaman Khan" should be added at the location where Ramnath name is mentioned for the first time and not the second time, so move the intro of the person to the first instance where this name is mentioned. Done
- The article says " Goshthastami" ? what is Goshtastami ? if it's a typo of Gopasthami then correct it. the external link as to be added as a reference and not as a WP:HOTLINK
- In the shiva temple section what is "bolder" ? looks like a typo for boulder. fix it. Done
- Also the shiva temple section can be expanded by the ASI source, it has good information on the temple. you can copy the ASI document as it is and mention it inside the "quotation mark" and provide attribution. Also do not make up your own things, only state what is written in the doc Done
- [ Plate XXVIIb- ASI Annual Report 1921-22] ? what does this mean ? if it is a ref, then it should be moved in the ref, this looks bad. in the article text, please fix. Done --DBigXrayᗙ 07:20, 31 January 2019 (UTC)
- I have made some changes in the draft please check the history and see the difference.
- In this section named #Bhandirban/Bhandir_Bon Chandan Guha has provided demography information. you can add that information as a new section into the article.
- Some of the references are showing up errors in red colour, fix the errors in the ref so that no red colour is shown. Done
- Add a reference for the [citation needed] tag in Bhandeshwar section. Done
- Please fix these last 3 problems and let me know by replying here. the draft is almost completed after you fix these issues. --DBigXrayᗙ 11:33, 31 January 2019 (UTC)
- Since you have already added the reference in Bhandeshwar section. Please remove the [citation needed]. Please add the Demographics section as given by Chandan Guha. Done --DBigXrayᗙ 11:49, 31 January 2019 (UTC)
Respected Sir, DBigXray As per your valuable suggesstion I have corrected the errors as far as possible and I have included the portion edited and referenced by Respected Editor Sree Chandan Guha Uploadsou14 (talk) 12:55, 31 January 2019 (UTC)
- Well done, Uploadsou14. I think the draft is now ready for submission. So please click the submit button and wait for review. You can also make a request at the talk pages of old reviewers to take another look at the draft and see if it can be accepted after your improvements. The reviewers who reviewed that draft are RoySmith (talk), CatcherStorm (talk) and Theroadislong (talk). I hope this time the draft will be accepted. good luck. --DBigXrayᗙ 13:02, 31 January 2019 (UTC)
Respected Sir, Many many thanks. Your constant suggestion and Edit has led to this Acceptance. Uploadsou14 (talk) 13:55, 31 January 2019 (UTC)
- Can I edit or add any image on the draft Bhandirban?Uploadsou14 (talk) 14:06, 31 January 2019 (UTC)
- The draft has already been moved to the new location at Bhandirban so dont edit the draft, you can edit the Bhandirban article directly. if You want to uplaod pictures, please upload at Commons and then link it here in the article. --DBigXrayᗙ 14:17, 31 January 2019 (UTC)
Can I edit any image or add any image given in the article Bhandirban now and publishUploadsou14 (talk) 14:37, 31 January 2019 (UTC)
- First you need to upload the image at http://commons.wikimedia.org . remember to add appropriate description about the image along with address where the picture was taken. while uploading the image Only upload images that are useful for Encyclopedia. after uploading you can add the image to the article with link. Normally too many images are not added to the article, instead a {{commons category}} link is added on wikipedia that provides a link to the album of images on commons.
Sir where is the Quoted portion of ASI regarding Bhandeswar Shiv Mandir. Is it edited from your side or somehow I deleted this?Uploadsou14 (talk) 14:49, 31 January 2019 (UTC)
- The reviewer Theroadislong had removed the quote as unnecessary. you can see the article history by clicking the link history on the top of the article here is the direct link for the page history, [2]. I still feel the information was useful. May be you can add the information about the temple from the ASI by writing it in your own words instead of directly quoting the ASI. hope this helps. --DBigXrayᗙ 14:59, 31 January 2019 (UTC)
Thanks Sir. I want to add later but please help me to arrange the sentencesUploadsou14 (talk) 15:02, 31 January 2019 (UTC)
- Ok, you can post your version and I can help to change it. you can find the quote in the article history. You can drop the word Sir. no need to use Sir here all are equal. thanks. --DBigXrayᗙ 15:11, 31 January 2019 (UTC)
PLease correct and edit, then I will put in main article- BHandeswar Shiv Mandir. Starting from Ramnath Bhaduri... . The laterite stone temple built by Bhaduri is tall pyramida sikharal[1] type. The spire is about 45 feet high. The floor of shrine is 5 feet below the level of platform. The enshrine linga is a natural boulder,to the right of which is placed a stone image of Goddesses Durga.[2]}}</ref>Uploadsou14 (talk) 05:52, 1 February 2019 (UTC)

Adding poor quality and un-encyclopedic images on Bhandirban
[edit]Hi, Please do not add back the images that are removed. User:Theroadislong has rightly removed some of the images that do not add any value to the article in any way. if you think that these images are important and add value to the article then please explain why you think so. The article cannot be used as a gallery of multiple poor quality images. 2-3 best images should only be added. so select the good ones and only add 2 or 3. --DBigXrayᗙ 16:19, 31 January 2019 (UTC)
Commons Category:Bhandirban
[edit]hi I have created a commons Category:Bhandirban for your uploaded pics on commons. When you upload new pics of Bhandirban village on commons, please remember to also add "Category:Bhandirban" in the upload page, so that people can easily find this. Also I have added a link to "Category:Bhandirban" in the Wikipedia article of Bhandirban so that people who want to see more pictures of Bhandirban can click on the link to commons category and see the pics. So now no need to add all the pictures in the article and I have removed the old man pic. it is still there in the "Category:Bhandirban" so if someone would like to look at it they still can.
Similarly I have also created commons Category:Beharia for pics of Beharia village. You can add pics of Beharia vilalge into this album by add [[Category:Beharia]] into the commons page where the image is located. --DBigXrayᗙ 04:48, 2 February 2019 (UTC)
- Hi I have added pics in the Category:Beharia , if there is any pic that belongs to Bhandirban and not Beharia then please edit and change Beharia to Bhandirban in the category of that file. --DBigXrayᗙ 13:08, 3 February 2019 (UTC)
Google map is not a reliable source
[edit]Please do not use google map as a reference for the article. it is not a WP:RS (reliable source). you can only use Google map to find the coordinates to add in the infobox, but other than that it should not be used. --DBigXrayᗙ 15:42, 2 February 2019 (UTC)
I have moved the Kaalimaata draft to the new location at Draft:Beharia which is the name of the village. This draft needs lot of work. the Etymology and ancient story section makes absolutely no sense and needs to be improved a lot. Please read what Etymology actually means and correct the title accordingly. --DBigXrayᗙ 08:39, 1 February 2019 (UTC)
- I have moved the coordinates that you wrote in the article lead, to the infobox. The draft looks much better now and has high chances of being approved. Just make sure that any new information that you add there is reliably sourced. When you are done, you can ping the reviewer to take a relook. regards. --DBigXrayᗙ 12:12, 5 February 2019 (UTC)
Thanks. There is an Scholarary article by Dr. Buddhadeb Bhattacharya Assistant Professor NavaNalanda Mahabihar and Andrea Loseries regarding Tantrik culture regarding Behira Kalibari as Sage Baradwaj has performed penance here and got enlightened. I am trying to give the reference regarding the ancient story. If I couldn't then I will not add that section otherwise I will submit. --User:Uploadsou14 15:17, 5 February 2019 (UTC)
