Yes, nominate, but, we are already late. --TitoDutta 12:32, 29 September 2013 (UTC)

Lets see. I will nominate though. Sohambanerjee1998 12:34, 29 September 2013 (UTC)
Tito provide me with a hook please. Sohambanerjee1998 12:35, 29 September 2013 (UTC)
I have given credit to you and Nvv who else should I include? and please provide me with a hook and image. Sohambanerjee1998 12:37, 29 September 2013 (UTC)
Titoda, I am going to nominate them soon, weekend after copyediting. As far as I know DYK's go in according to the date of their creation, expansion and we should give importance to older ones and pay respect to those which were added earlier. Which Gandhi Tagore? They are not in the same picture. Sohambanerjee1998 12:42, 30 September 2013 (UTC)

Soham, thank you for your kind message. I have always held Vivekananda with great reverence. In my initial years of service in Bhutan, Sikkim and North Bengal in the 1960s, I came to appreciate the rich cultural tradition of Bengal. I can understand Bengali to some degree. You may know that I was one of the key negotiators of the Farakka water sharing treaty and was very popular in Bangladesh and also with the people who mattered in Calcutta then. It is now16 years since I retired.--Nvvchar. 12:09, 6 October 2013 (UTC)

A brownie for you!

HI Soham,

Thanks a lot for your warm welcome. Himaanshuuuu (talk) 12:14, 6 October 2013 (UTC)

Yuummm... the brownie is delicious. Now I am feeling a bit dizzy, was it spiked? Sohambanerjee1998 14:32, 6 October 2013 (UTC)

Hi Soham,
I hope you are doing good. I have recently prepared an article for Dev Sharma with all possible information I can contribute from my end. As you know I am very new on Wikipedia, hence requesting your assistance to review & guide me further so that same can be move to the main space of Wikipedia.
Thanks & Regards
Himaanshuuuu (talk) 13:17, 7 October 2013 (UTC)

Himaanshuuuu, Do you know the person or has he asked you to write it for you? Please read these articles - WP:RS, WP:Notability, WP:NOR, WP:COI. Tell me when you have read these articles. Sohambanerjee1998 13:21, 7 October 2013 (UTC)
Himaanshuuuu, I took a look at the article and found that a section is completely unsourced and qualifies as original research. Now coming to the references -
  1. Ref 1 - Flickr news is not a reliable source. Moreover it does'n't even metion him, its just a photograph and does not proves the fact with which it is used - In the year 2007 after the finals of his graduation he had been introduced to Modeling field & first time participated in Kingfisher Model Hunt program.
  2. Ref 2 - Again a photograph and has the issues I mentioned above.
  3. Ref 3 - No mention of Dev Sharma in the entire list let alone providing support to the fact along with it was used.
  4. Ref 4 - Ekjute.com is the website of Ekjute theatre group itself and falls under primary source which cannot be used.
  5. Ref 5 - Youtube video not a reliable source
  6. Ref 6 - Same as above
  7. Ref 7 - Same as above
  8. Ref 8 - Same as above
  9. Ref 9 - Wikipedia article as a source, a complete no-no. Plus in the article itself there is no reference that states Dev Sharma is actually working in the film. Please solve these issues along with a strong conflict of interest and read WP:Your first article as also the links I gave you above.

There you go. Sohambanerjee1998 14:00, 7 October 2013 (UTC)

Sohambanerjee1998

Thanks a lot for your spontaneous response. I have read all articles you want me go through. I want to inform you, Dev Sharma is my own real brother. Just because of the very reason I could afford to contribute some genuine & basic information about him.

I really appreciate that you took a look at the article & provided your suggestion. As my brother is not being much high-lighted into media yet. So I thought to write an article about him which could cover his decent information about his journey so far. Very soon two movies Krrish 3 & Yaariyaan are going to get released in which he is playing a major role.

I was thinking to check with you If I need to share some documents or certificates for the proof of genuine information. However now I correctly understood the things work other way around in Wikipedia. Person should be well high-lighted into media, so the article on a person would have all resources in place to cross verify the information.
Your help is really appreciable.
Himaanshuuuu (talk) 15:00, 7 October 2013 (UTC)

Yes absolutely, thanks for taking my advise. Sohambanerjee1998 15:03, 7 October 2013 (UTC)
Himaanshuuuu, don't worry he's just 25 he still has a lot of years and I am sure he'll have an article one day and the paparazzi will be all over him cause he has the fire (what it takes) in him. Wait for few years. In the meantime why don't you become a full time Wikipedia editor? Sohambanerjee1998 16:40, 7 October 2013 (UTC)

Hi Sohambanerjee1998,

Well you are absolutely correct. Let him take his own time & I am pretty much sure about one thing that after these two releases there would be a lot of things which would automatically get covered as far as his references are concerned.

However good thing is that I have learned something new. I also understood that there would be a lot to explore in this interesting field after going through your Kahaani session :). Although my hands are stuck in so many other things, however still I am curious to know how does it feel to become full time editor & what is the deal? Only God knows the probabilities & purpose of our interaction, however I am really glad that you have shown that interest & faith in me :).
Thanks & Regards
Himaanshuuuu (talk) 22:19, 7 October 2013 (UTC)

Yes the from the section below you'll get a fair deal as to what means being a Wikipedia editor. Honey Singh will mention you in his songs with lyrics like mere bare me Wikipediaaaa pe paddhlou'. Plus I am glad that an editor came to understand what Wikipedia means. Sohambanerjee1998 11:55, 8 October 2013 (UTC)

Hi Sohambanerjee1998,

Thanks a lot for being so patient & responding to my queries. Well I want to know what are the formalities I'll have to go through to become full time Wikipedia editor. How does this whole thing work?
Thanks & Regards
Himaanshuuuu (talk) 11:51, 9 October 2013 (UTC)

There are absolutely no formalities start editing any page. Special:Random - Click this and the page which would come edit that with the edit button on top. You can also edit sections as you are doing right now. Teahouse is there for you and also me. You can go to my user page where there are numerous articles for beginners at the bottom. Keep in my mind one thing - there are no rules in wikipedia and if there is a rule that stops you from improving wikipedia Ignore that. Sohambanerjee1998 12:21, 9 October 2013 (UTC)

Start with reading these two articles -

Sohambanerjee1998 12:21, 9 October 2013 (UTC)

Sohambanerjee1998,
I am really glad that whatever links you have shared with me so far, they have a lot of good information for anyone who is new to Wikipedia. I am curious to know the various advantages a full time editor could have than a normal editor (except the knowledge part) in Wikipedia?
Regards
Himaanshuuuu (talk) 14:54, 9 October 2013 (UTC)

With experience and considerable knowledge and understanding about Wikipedia's policies users are given rollback, reviewer, file mover, autopatroller, autowikibrowser, admin and above all Bureaucrat and steward rights. True be true these are the advantages (unfair XD) one gets with experience. More information can be found here. Sohambanerjee1998 15:02, 9 October 2013 (UTC)
Himanshu how can I forget to mention the most important thing - faith and trust of the community. Sohambanerjee1998 15:08, 9 October 2013 (UTC)

Sohambanerjee1998,
That's really good to know information, so specially if we talk sysop or admin the full time editor those who are flaged with any of these roles are nothing but an employee of Wikipedia isn't it?
Regards
Himaanshuuuu (talk) 17:23, 9 October 2013 (UTC)

Himanshu, no. Being an administrator does not necessarily mean he is employed by Wikimedia foundation although being a Wikimedia foundation employee mean he/she can't be an admin. Any normal can be an admin. Sohambanerjee1998 17:28, 9 October 2013 (UTC)

Wao Soham,

So If I understood this correct, all full time editors provide their contribution(time & service) as a charity. Based on their knowledge, experience & time they contribute to Wikipedia, they have been flagged accordingly. There is no time boundation, whosoever is free can login & start their contribution as per their current flag(role) assigned.
Regards
Himaanshuuuu (talk) 18:55, 9 October 2013 (UTC)

Himanshu no, when a particular user starts s/he does not have a flag. After 10 edits he becomes autoconfirmed. A wikipedia user has the right to edit whatever article she wants. Sohambanerjee1998 04:59, 10 October 2013 (UTC)
Himanshu yes, contributing to Wikipedia is community service. At first there are no roles assigned. Even if flags were given that does not mean s/he has to rollback only. Editing in Wikipedia has no bounds. Sohambanerjee1998 05:02, 10 October 2013 (UTC)
