Esa Itkonen moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, Esa Itkonen, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Thanks Jmertel23, that will work fine. Weidorje (talk) 09:08, 9 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Language[edit]

Hello, Weidorje. I undid your edits to Language because I think the kind of changes you seem to have in mind need input from multiple editors. Please comment at Talk:Language#Edits undone March 2020 if you are so inclined. Thank you, and happy editing. Cnilep (talk) 02:58, 2 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Please read WP:BRD. I reverted your addition when you inserted it, you were bold, you were reverted, you then discuss. Given the continued insertion I have started the discussion for you - pending resolution you should not insert that text again. -----Snowded TALK 11:53, 6 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hjelmslev's transformational algebra[edit]

At the article on Transformational grammar, you have inserted the following sentence: "Transformational algebra was first introduced to general linguistics by the structural linguist Louis Hjelmslev", with Pieter Seuren's "Western linguistics: An historical introduction" cited as the source. However, you have given no page number in the source. I've looked through Seuren's book and have been unable to find any reference to "Transformational algebra" or any suggestion that Hjelmslev pioneered the idea of transformations. Would you care to clarify where exactly in your source it says that Hjelmslev introduced the concept of transformational algebra, and how it might relate to Harrisian and Chomskyan transformations?
