A tag has been placed on Draft:First Financial Bankshares, Inc., requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. creffett (talk) 23:54, 1 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Conflict of interest[edit]

Information icon Hello, Willtherock. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;

  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. – Athaenara 01:16, 2 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Good morning, I see that my First Financial Bankshares page was flagged and deleted. This is my first time creating a Wikipedia page, and I apologize for submitting content that was too self-promotional and not informational enough. After reading the feedback of the speedy deletion, I understand the reasons behind the submission being flagged. I read the how-to articles and also this article about advertising account blocks. I understand the severity of the block and would appreciate the opportunity to correct my submission. My team and I are currently reviewing the content that was submitted and revising the self-promotional and content copied from the First Financial website to put it in our own words. The revisions will be made according to Wikipedia guidelines and the feedback that was provided in the deletion notice. If you would like to add more specific red flags that you can point out, I would appreciate it. Our goal is to share information about First Financial Bankshares, Inc. and not promote or advertise on Wikipedia. Thank you for your feedback and any additional information that we can use to include in our revisions is appreciated.

Decline reason:

> Our goal is to share information about First Financial Bankshares, Inc.
That is promotion. Wikipedia is a volunteer curated encyclopedia; our readers expect independent independent coverage of our subject matter and aren't here to learn about what a company has to say about itself. Anything you write about your employer is promotional because you wrote it. MER-C 18:23, 2 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Why do you believe you should be unblocked?

I believe I should be unblocked because I fully understand and respect the Wikipedia site guidelines. I only intend to provide encyclopedic information from a neutral point of view.

After reviewing the feedback from the block, I compared it to the information I submitted and have since gone through and removed any information that does not comply with these Wikipedia rules.

If you are unblocked, what articles do you intend to edit?

If unblocked, I intend to edit the First Financial Bankshares, Inc. page. My intent is to provide basic, encyclopedic information about First Financial Bank from a neutral point of view.

Why do you think there is a block currently affecting you? If you believe it's in error, tell us how.

I believe the block is currently affecting me because of my original content submission. As a first-time user, I mistakenly wrote my submission in an inappropriate format for Wikipedia.

After reviewing the block feedback‬, I understand the errors in my submission. I believe there is a misunderstanding of what my intentions are. I have no intentions of advertising, self-promoting, or marketing on the First Financial Bankshares Wikipedia page. I understand that is not the purpose of Wikipedia and I understand the rules put in place to protect the website.

Is there anything else you would like us to consider when reviewing your block?

Please consider that I do not have negative intentions for my contributions to Wikipedia. After going through this process, reading the help articles, revising my content, reviewing the feedback, I have a full understanding of the type of content that belongs on Wikipedia.

I also researched comparable company pages on Wikipedia to get approved examples of the type of content other banks have shared and had approved.

If unblocked, any edits I make moving forward will comply with Wikipedia guidelines.Willtherock (talk) 16:51, 12 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Since you still seem intent on editing about your company, there is no cause to remove the block at this time. Wikipedia is not interested in what a company wants to say about itself. If you are aware of other banks that have had employees create similar articles, and done so without declaring their relationship as a bank employee, feel free to point those out so they can be addressed. Bank representatives should not be creating articles about their banks. Other inappropriate pages existing doesn't mean yours can exist too.

You might later be permitted to indirectly edit about your bank if you spend a significant time(six months to a year) developing a good edit history by editing about other subjects, to show that you understand what Wikipedia is about, but you won't be unblocked to edit about your bank immediately. If that's all you want to do here, this is the end of the line for your Wikipedia career, and you should consider alternative forums. If you are interested in being a general, individual Wikipedia contributor, please tell what other subjects you will edit about. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 18:26, 12 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Help me![edit]

I would like to submit a request for a company article to be created by a Wikipedia editor under the Companies category. I have already written content and have sources included. How do I go about making this request? Any help is appreciated to make sure I go about this the right way.

Please help me with...
