Help me!

Please help me with... why i even try... i just want to help my friend get some recognition for his work. I get blasted for copyright... I cited his page and i am not a writer.

now i am discouraged and wondering why i even donated for all these years.

We (as in Wikipedia) only accepted a limited amount of fully copyrighted material, regardless of whether or not that work is cited. We much prefer public domain or free cultured licensed works.
We also only accept a small number of people or subjects. It would be impossible to include every person on the earth and all of their ideas and discoveries, even with paperless methods, so the subjects we write about are already known about to some extent. It has nothing to do with how much recognition your friend deserves, and more to do with how much recognition he has already.
