WWE 2K24 is an upcoming professional wrestling sports video game in development by Visual Concepts and to be published by 2K. It will mark the tenth installment under the WWE 2K name and the twenty-fourth entry in the series overall based on WWE and is the successor to WWE 2K23.
Development
In May 2023, during an annual quarterly earnings call held by 2K's holding company Take-Two Interactive, WWE 2K24 was announced as an upcoming title set to be released in March 2024 fiscal year.[1]
On January 17, 2024, WWE 2K updated their header and profile pictures on X (Twitter), to include the new WWE 2K24 logo and announcement date of January 22, 2024.[2] That same day, they uploaded a teaser photo of a referee T-shirt, with Stone Cold Steve Austin tagged in the Tweet.[3]
On January 22, 2024, it was confirmed that Cody Rhodes is the cover star of the Standard Edition, while The Judgment Day's Rhea Ripley and Bianca Belair are the cover stars of the Deluxe Edition. A "40 Years of WrestleMania" Edition will also be released, which includes the WrestleMania XL arena and five playable superstars, based on their respective WrestleMania appearances, marking the first time since WWE 2K14 players can play through a WrestleMania showcase mode. MyRise will feature two new storylines: Unleashed and Undisputed. All editions will be available on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Series S.[4] All editions will also include a month of Peacock Premium, which is only available in the United States, with the offer available until April 14, 2024, with codes expiring on May 31, 2024.
The Standard Edition will be released on March 8, 2024, while the Deluxe and 40 Years of WrestleMania Editions will be released three days earlier on March 5, 2024.[5] Ryan Woodrow of Video Games on Sports Illustrated confirmed that special guest referee, ambulance, casket, and gauntlet matches will make a return through the title.[6]
