Welcome to WikiProject Conservatism! A friendly and fun place where editors can easily ask questions, meet new colleagues and join A-Team collaborations to create prestigious, high quality A-Class articles. Whether you're a newcomer or regular, you'll receive encouragement and recognition for your achievements with conservatism-related articles. This project does not extol any point of view, political or otherwise, other than that of a neutral documentarian.
- Have you thought about submitting your new article to "Did You Know"? It's the easiest and funnest way to get your creation on the Main Page. More info can be found in our guide "DYK For Newbies."
- We're happy to assess your new article as well as developed articles. Make a request here.
- Experienced editors may want to jump right in and join an A-Team. While A-Class is more rigorous than a Good Article, you don't have to deal with the lengthy backlog at GA. If you already have an article you would like to promote, you can post a request for co-nominators here.
- Do you have a question?

Appeal to tradition[edit]
- Appeal to tradition (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) – (View AfD | edits since nomination)
- (Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL)
Very poorly cited and not at all neutral
- Note: This discussion has been included in the deletion sorting lists for the following topics: Logic and Conservatism. Spiderone(Talk to Spider) 21:31, 23 June 2024 (UTC)
- If this is to stay, it needs to be rewritten and better sourced, and discuss the benefits of tradition as well as the negatives. This currently lacks any depth, logic alone is nothing — Preceding unsigned comment added by Alexanderkowal (talk • contribs) 21:24, 23 June 2024 (UTC)
- Keep - the article is about the logical fallacy. There is a separate article for the broader subject of tradition. Citations, etc. are a WP:SOFIXIT/WP:AFDNOTCLEANUP issue. — Rhododendrites talk \\ 23:05, 23 June 2024 (UTC)
- It qualifies tradition from only one POV Alexanderkowal (talk) 16:04, 24 June 2024 (UTC)
- It's not the article about tradition. That's tradition. It's about a logical fallacy appealing to tradition. — Rhododendrites talk \\ 16:46, 24 June 2024 (UTC)
- You have just ignored what I said Alexanderkowal (talk) 17:04, 24 June 2024 (UTC)
- It's not the article about tradition. That's tradition. It's about a logical fallacy appealing to tradition. — Rhododendrites talk \\ 16:46, 24 June 2024 (UTC)
- It qualifies tradition from only one POV Alexanderkowal (talk) 16:04, 24 June 2024 (UTC)
- Keep if article can be rewritten to sound more neutral and objective. Would also help to add more sources. —Mjks28 (talk) 00:31, 24 June 2024 (UTC)
- Keep. Not a convincing nomination, no policy cited and irrelevant personal opinions such as "logic alone is nothing". I don't see any problems with it not being "neutral". Geschichte (talk) 04:00, 24 June 2024 (UTC)
- It is a single POV, arguably an uncommon one. Obviously when I say neutral I’m referring to WP:NPOV Alexanderkowal (talk) 16:03, 24 June 2024 (UTC)
- What I should've said is that logic alone without rational appreciation for the content is at best superficial and vain, at worst very destructive Alexanderkowal (talk) 17:04, 24 June 2024 (UTC)
- Keep because the ways of our forefathers and our forefathers forrfathers would have been to keep this. See what I did there? Hyperbolick (talk) 06:38, 25 June 2024 (UTC)
- Didn’t really make sense, I don’t think our forefathers would’ve kept this article Alexanderkowal (talk) 11:37, 25 June 2024 (UTC)
- Forefathers would've fixed it. They were fixers of fixtures. Hyperbolick (talk) 08:32, 26 June 2024 (UTC)
- This is more to draw people’s attention to the article because I can only write on the positives and negatives of tradition Alexanderkowal (talk) 10:31, 26 June 2024 (UTC)

I could not find in-depth coverage. He ran for public office but does not meet WP:NPOL nor WP:BIO. LibStar (talk) 00:08, 18 June 2024 (UTC)
- Note: This discussion has been included in the deletion sorting lists for the following topics: People, Conservatism, Politics, and Canada. LibStar (talk) 00:08, 18 June 2024 (UTC)
- Keep. Agree that he doesn't pass NPOL or NBIO, but does clear WP:GNG with WP:SIGCOV in Atkins, Kinsella, Bartley, Sherren, and Perry and Scrivens, plus newspaper coverage. His notability seems to go beyond a single event so WP:BLP1E does not apply here. Dclemens1971 (talk) 01:26, 18 June 2024 (UTC)
- Delete Fails notability and RS guidelines. Go4thProsper (talk) 12:05, 19 June 2024 (UTC)
- Keep per Dclemens. Some of the books linked go into a decent amount of detail. A non insignificant figure in Canadian white supremacist groups it seems. PARAKANYAA (talk) 11:37, 20 June 2024 (UTC)
Relisted to generate a more thorough discussion and clearer consensus.
Please add new comments below this notice. Thanks, Liz Read! Talk! 01:18, 25 June 2024 (UTC)
- Delete The author of this is a now-blocked sock puppet. The article has been here for 17 years, and only has 3 sentences. He doesn't even qualify as WP:SINGLEEVENT. We know he participated in one event where a cross was burned, but gives no details. He could have been just a spectator - or anything - we are not told. Given that the article claims, "he led Aryan Nations's Canadian branch and staged a major rally and cross burning in Provost, Alberta", sourced details are needed here. — Maile (talk) 01:54, 25 June 2024 (UTC)
- Did you look at the sources I linked above? We aren't evaluating the condition of the current article but all sourcing that's available. Dclemens1971 (talk) 05:39, 25 June 2024 (UTC)
- Delete: I don't even see coverage in Canadian sources. What's used now seem to be trivial mentions. Lack of sourcing Oaktree b (talk) 03:00, 25 June 2024 (UTC)
- Keep Again, agree with Dclemens. Appears significant academic discussion of his role. Definitely seems notable and significant. Article should be improved with those sources, not deleted. Flatthew (talk) 16:44, 25 June 2024 (UTC)
