Portal:Halo

I am nominating this portal for featured portal status. Admittedly this is a comparatively small topic (less than 100 articles in the corresponding WP:HALO WikiProject), but this portal only showcases high-quality content (all articles displayed in the Selected article, DYK and Selected picture sections are of at least GA-class) and covers the basics well.

This portal includes:

14 selected articles, all FA-class, therefore the section is named "Featured article". If 14 articles is not enough, I can add a few GAs to this section to push the number of selected articles above 20.
27 Did You Know hooks, linking to 29 articles, consisting of 28 good articles and 1 featured list. These hooks are divided into 4 categories. One hook from each category is randomly selected to be displayed.
20 selected pictures, all with credits and captions. All bold links are to articles that are of GA-class or higher and are within the scope of the Halo WikiProject. I did not include any image I used for blurbs of selected articles.
Related portals and appropriate WMF interwiki links. I have no idea why the template looks like that.

Comment by Rodw I know nothing of the content but on a first look at the layout, I note 3 links on two lines below Selected Picture. I had exactly the same issue on Portal:Bristol and User:John of Reading kindly resolved it through the use of {{Random portal component with nominate}} and special layout templates (which I didn't fully understand). It might be worth seeing if similar tweaks could be offered for this Portal.— Rod ^talk 19:50, 8 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The multiple links I mentioned were fixed by User:John of Reading ages ago. Taking another look at the portal:

I am unsure about the use of a graphic for the word "HALO" in the title bar - does this meet the accessibility requirements for those using screen readers etc?
Personally I would have the navboxes under "Topics" ie Halo series, 343 Industries & Bungie start in a collapsed state but I don't know if that is covered by the featured portal requirements.— Rod ^talk 20:07, 28 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
