The Tropical Cyclone Collaboration of the Fortnight is a collaborative effort to improve tropical cyclone-related articles, in order to help them reach featured-article standards. Anyone, no matter what their level of knowledge about tropical cyclones or meteorology, is welcome to lend a hand.

Selecting the next collaboration[edit]

The selection process involves three steps:

  1. Nomination: New nominations can be made at any time and should be added at the end of the Candidates for next week section. Insightful comments may assist others in casting their vote.
  2. Voting: To vote for an article, add your ~~~~ under the article's support section. Any registered Wikipedian can vote on this page, regardless of their level of knowledge about the subject.
  3. Selection: The colllaboration is selected by approval voting; thus, you may vote for as many candidates as you like, and opposition votes have no bearing. The article with the most support votes is selected as the winner. In case of a tie, the candidate that was nominated first wins.

A nomination will be removed and archived if it does not receive at least 1 vote per week.

Preparing the next collaboration[edit]

To change to a newly selected article, first close the previous one:

  1. Change the noticeboard to reflect the change.
  2. Note the selection in the collaboration archive.
  3. Send the article to the assessment page to check where it falls on the grading scale.
  4. If appropriate, the article should be referred to Peer review and later to Featured article candidates.

Now prepare the new article:

  1. Announce the new selection at the noticeboard by replacing the old article with the new.
  2. Remove the new article from the Next collaboration section, and note it on the collaboration archive.
  3. Contact the Wikipedians who voted for the winning article in their talk pages.

  1. First, decide if it is necessary for the article to require a collaboration. Minor grammatical errors and other simple tasks can be done by one person. Be bold!
  2. Add the nominee to the Next collaboration section, and follow the following format:
  3. Add TCCOTF=yes to {{Hurricane}} on the top of the article's talk page.

Next collaboration[edit]

Selected to start collaboration. No real need for formalism, since this one is already happening. Titoxd(?!? - cool stuff) 19:32, 5 January 2011 (UTC)
