City of Grand Rapids Article

[edit]

This is a shout out to everybody that has worked on that article in the past few months. I plan on doing a massive revision of the article and get this I plan on placing Citations on it. How this article is even a B-Class Article with just 6 citations is a puzzle to me. Everybody just keeps on adding more and more stuff with no shred of a citation anywheres. In anycase I will have the new page in holding while I gather the citations and what not. Sometime in the next month or so I would like to have everybody around here take a look at it and see what else can be improved. Spelling and grammer will deffiationly need be checked over. I am not the best at reading my own typing as you can tell. I think I type too fast for my own good. Well off to the web I go to go searching for info and citations whoo HOO!--Mihsfbstadium (talk) 21:50, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Naming convention for Charter Townships

[edit]

@Bkonrad: WP:USPLACE says: Conventions for titles of articles about minor civil divisions vary from state to state. For example, articles on townships in Indiana are all entitled X Township, Y County, Indiana regardless of the need for the county name to disambiguate; articles on townships in New Jersey are generally titled X, New Jersey or X Township, New Jersey according to common usage. Any change in convention should be determined on a statewide basis. Hence I come here to inquire about the articles in Category:Charter townships in Michigan. Many, but not all of these have the term "Charter" included in the name. I'm here as a result of patrolling Category:Pages with disallowed DISPLAYTITLE modifications. Ypsilanti Township, Michigan populates said category due to {{DISPLAYTITLE:Ypsilanti Charter Township, Michigan}}. Should I comply with that implied request for move? Should all members of Category:Charter townships in Michigan include "Charter" in their title, or if not, what's the criteria for including the term in the title? wbm1058 (talk) 14:29, 25 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Common usage. Some charter townships style references to themselves in websites and official communications as the "Charter Township of X" or "X Charter Township". Other townships may have the status of a charter township but continue to refer to themselves primarily as "X Township". olderwiser 15:24, 25 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
