A tag has been placed on your user page, User:TWTDDA, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be advertising which only promotes or publicises someone or something. Promotional editing of any kind is not permitted, whether it be promotion of a person, company, product, group, service, belief, or anything else. This is a violation of our policies regarding acceptable use of user pages — user pages are intended for active editors of Wikipedia to communicate with one another as part of the process of creating encyclopedic content, and should not be mistaken for free webhosting resources or advertising space. Please read the guidelines on spam, the guidelines on user pages, and, especially, our FAQ for Organizations.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. A tag has been placed on Draft:Taiwan Digital Diplomacy Association, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

Thank you for reviewing the page, I am a bit unsure as to why its being deleted as I was upfront on the COI and I was not writing the draft in order to promote anyone and I have not received any compensation for its creation.
If you have any advice on how I can improve the submission as I continue to gather 3rd party resources and citations please let me know. My apologies for the inconvenience. (Also my name my change between messages, I am asking for a name change in order to further avoid COI, I had the original name in an attempt to be transparent).

Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because of the following problems: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

You may request a change of username and unblock if you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization. To do this, first search Special:CentralAuth for available usernames that comply with the username policy. Once you have found an acceptable username, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement.
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. Widr (talk) 07:01, 6 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Requested username:

Request reason:

removal of potentially self advertising Username. As I noted in my attempt to create a wiki page, I am an unpaid intern at TDDA, I do not receive any compensation for my work and was hoping to create a neutral wiki for the org only using non-1st person sources. Please let me know if I have made any further mistakes and how I can comply with COI requirements. The use of the original username was an attempt to be transparent*

Decline reason:

Your choice of new username would be fine. Please note that under our rules(see WP:PAID), being an intern counts as paid editing, even if you receive no money, as you are compensated with the experience of the work. You must make the paid editing disclosure. Please also read conflict of interest. You won't be unblocked to, in the short term, edit about your organization. If that is your only goal here, this is the end of the road. If you are interested in being a general contributor and editing about topics unrelated to your conflict of interest, please tell what those might be. After you build up a good edit history showing that you understand relevant Wikipedia content and sourcing policies, you may later be permitted to indirectly contribute about your organization, but not now. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 10:15, 6 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for the clarification, my original plan was to contribute in other ways, mostly focusing on things I learn about in Taiwan that aren't related to anything I do professionally or as a student (for example landmarks and the history of the area I live) etc. The page for the the org was something I came up with on my own as a start but I understand now that it wont be allowed.
I will avoid making any edits or page submissions for the org, my academic program etc until I have demonstrated the required level of competency.
Thank you for your time. TWTDDA (talk) 01:25, 7 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry for replying again, I just wanted to inquire about the update status of my appeal (2nd appeal down below). I understand that these issues are addressed by volunteers at their own pace but I just wanted to check in. I am unable to comment on your talk page as other users have because of the restriction so I am unsure how else to reply to you.
Thanks again for reviewing my case.

Help me tags are unnecessary and redundant when you have an open unblock request. 331dot (talk) 10:10, 6 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:
In accordance with the last appeal, I am attempting to change this account name in order to avoid promotion and COI. Further, I understand and agree that I will not post, edit, alter or contribute to any pages related to my COI [Taiwan Digital Diplomacy], I have added this COI warning to the top of my talk page and will also place it on my userpage once I am able. My future submissions and contributions will not be related to this COI, areas I would like to focus on would be areas, landmarks and history in Taiwan that do not yet have a Wikipedia or could use additional research and information. I would also like to add images as well to landmarks and pages that currently lack them as I am able to travel around Taiwan to do so. Thank you for your time and consideration.
