1st britannia scout group[edit]

The article 1st britannia scout group has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article seemed to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, but it did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the notability of the subject may be deleted at any time. A tag has been placed on 1st britannia scout group requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a club, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. I was going to be gentle with you until I discovered that you had re-posted your article twice a few days ago despite a clear message above. Now you may think "what does someone from Louisiana (ie. NawlinWiki) know about British scouting? We can ignore him". Unfortunately for you, I am English and a friend of your deputy mayor, Jeff Bannister, and I still say the article should be deleted. I am sorry, but it is well established that local scout troops are not notable enough for Wikipedia. I have sent you a copy of your text. Re your e-mail, I can only repeat what I said above: NawlinWiki and I are agreed that Wikipedia policy is that scout troops - all of them, not just yours - are not notable enough for Wikipedia. You can raise the matter at deletion review but do not expect much joy. Your article did however contain some historical info. about the Britannia Fields which I suggested you could add to the Burbage, Leicestershire article. I e-mailed you a copy in case you had not kept one. I hope you noted that I left your links in place in the Hinckley and Burbage articles. Britannia Fields[edit]

Please could you allow modern upto date information regarding the usage of our field, The current article explains about the history of the field, however it does not discuss its modern day usage after 1970. The Scout Hq and the centenary are an majorly import part of the fields history. Please would you allow, as it seems that Wikipedia is more than a history guide - it should be a notable explanation of what the fields were and are. I feel that this state is a necessary and sufficient statement of your group's presence (but I would let you add "purpose-built"). We certainly do not do as here and add a section heading saying "to learn more … use this link"! Please click here for more details!
