[edit] Club Career

Discovered by AEK's Dutch scout Eugene Gerrards, the young Senegalese midfielder left local club Xam-Xam for AEK in 2007 and has been between the youth team and two loan stints. He made his senior team debut on February 25, 2009 against Skoda Xanthi in the Greek Cup quarter-finals. Coming on in the 80th minute he provided a much needed spark off the bench which led to AEK scoring the winning goal. He made is league debut three days later, again, against Skoda Xanthi. He then moved to Blackburn after having a disappointing spell with Sunderland and has since cemented himself into the first team>

On August 20 2009, Diouf was released by Sunderland and on August 31 signed a 1 year contract with Vitória F.C..
