Fairfield Primary School is an English medium primary school for children aged 4–11, located in the suburbs of Penarth, Wales.

Fairfield Primary School first opened on 13 April 1953, and was officially opened by County Alderman, R.A. Thomas on 20 May 1953.
The school celebrated its 50 year anniversary in 2003 marking the occasion with various events, notably a public exhibition of photographs, documents and mementos which was very well attended, especially by former pupils and previous members of staff. Children worked with an artist to produce a mosaic to commemorate the anniversary. The mosaic is situated in the school's main entrance hall.
Approximately 250 pupils attend the school, although it has a small catchment area, a significant number of the pupils come from out of the catchment area. The school has one resource base class for children with additional learning needs.learning difficulties.

As well as delivering the national curriculum the school aims to instill in the pupils a sense of responsibility and caring for each other and their surroundings and a moral framework.
The school is well equipped with computer facilities and internet access which are used by all ages. The school also operates a Junior Lending Library with the support of parent helpers and a Junior reference library with internet links and an Infant Library area.
[edit] Sport and tradition
Fairfield Primary School offers an extensive range of sporting activities both as part of the curriculum and as extra-curricular activities. Activities available to the children include Rugby, Football, Cricket, Lacrosse, Hockey, Netball, Athletics, Mini Squash and Mini Fencing. Pupils participate in various community based sporting events, such as the Inter Primary Schools Athletic Competition which is held during the Penarth Summer Festival organised by Penarth Town Council, and the ‘We are the Champions’ competition organised by South Wales Police and held at Cogan Leisure Centre.
