Monks Risborough railway station is the small, single platform railway station of the village of Monks Risborough in Buckinghamshire, England.

The station is between Princes Risborough and Little Kimble stations on the branch line between Princes Risborough and Aylesbury.

History

The Great Western Railway opened the station on 11 November 1929 as Monks Risborough and Whiteleaf Halt.

The station was transferred from the Western Region of British Rail to the London Midland Region on 24 March 1974.[1]

Services

At most times of day passengers wishing to travel beyond Princes Risborough have to change, but in the early morning, peak hours and late evenings there are through services to London Marylebone. Likewise, in the evening rush-hour and late evening through services are available from London Marylebone towards Aylesbury. These peak hour through services are used by commuters living in the area. The fastest through train takes 50 minutes to/from London.

The station is accessible via a ramp and a permit to travel ticket machine is on the platform.

Monks Risborough village adjoins the town of Princes Risborough and the station is on the short branch line that links Princes Risborough with Aylesbury.
