Sulejman Tihić is a Bosniak politician. He was a member of the tripartite Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, representing Bosniak people from October 2002 until November 6, 2006. He was Chairman of the Presidency between February 28, 2004 and October 2004 and Chairman of the House of Peoples since November 14, 2007.
Sulejman Tihić was born in the town of Bosanski Šamac, northern Bosnia, SFR Yugoslavia. Tihić got his degree in Law from the University of Sarajevo. In 1990, he was one of the founding members of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA).
On October 13, 2001, Tihić was chosen to succeed Alija Izetbegović as head of the SDA party. He was elected to the Presidency on October 5, 2002. He won the elections once more in 2005.
