[Untitled][edit]

This entry has serious problems. It has mixed the descriptions of two very different religious institutions in Cusco, Peru. The Cathedral on the Plaza de Armas (mostly described here) is called the Cathedral Basilica of the Virgin of the Assumption...not the Cathedral of Santo Domingo. The Church and Convent of Santo Domingo is the one that is actually built on the foundations of the Coricancha so that information should be removed from this entry once the name is corrected. The Church and Convent of Santo Domingo and Coricancha are located several blocks to the southeast of Plaza de Armas.

[Incorrect photo][edit]

The photo 'Roof of the cathedral' is clearly not of Cusco Cathedral and should be removed or substituted. Evidence: not only is the cathedral in the photo surrounded by buildings with no sign of Cusco central square in front, the number of bells and openings in each of the towers is wrong. Corrected title of photograph to 'Church of la Compañía de Jesús' as it is not the 'roof of the cathedral' (original title - see above). Evidence - entry in 'List of Buildings of Cusco.' Gerglish (talk) 15:07, 15 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed[edit]

The entry above is correct! I was in Cusco recently and visited the Cathedral and the "Iglesia de Santo Domingo." These are separate churches. I made an entry at the beginning of the "Cathedral of Santo Domingo" Wiki page that points out the error on this page. I have also just returned from Cusco and concur with both statements above. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Al2401 (talkcontribs) 04:54, 23 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Fixed, with an added reference for confirmation. Dger (talk) 05:29, 27 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
