Since Wack is a religious priest, he is not incardinated in a diocese or an archdiocese, but follows the CSC's provincial territory. At the point of his episcopal consecration, his see will be Pensacola-Tallahassee, but he currently serves in Austin at a parish. The Archdiocese of Miami link is a further error. For bishops we do not list both a diocese AND an archdiocese, we list the diocese where his see is, the metropolitan/province information is elsewhere. So the correct course of action in this article is to have neither an archdiocese nor a diocese field while he remains a priest. Thank You, I understand now. The Archdiocese/Diocese was an error on my part. As for the Diocese/Archdiocese, both are listed (where appropriate) to show the province where the diocese is a part of. It's the standard for the other 400+ bishops, active and emeritus. When consecrated, the top of the infobox links to the province where he is a bishop eg. "Bishop of ..."". Thanks again for the insight.
I feel that this is, however widespread, an error. At the very least it is a misuse of that parameter. There is a "Province" field, which can be correctly used for religious as I have shown, or it could be used for bishops to list their ecclesiastical province, which is essentially the same as the corresponding archdiocese. It is really kind of misleading for diocesan bishops, because their boss is the Pope, not the metropolitan archbishop. The province only matters in minor cases such as HDO establishment and court of appeal for nullity cases, and these things apply more to the territory than to the man in office. 72.201.104.140 (talk) 00:54, 1 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
