Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) is a multi-campus university with its main campus based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. In which one of the country’s leading technical university. With the unique UniKL City Campus 31-storey building with 228,534sqf of working space is the tallest university building in Malaysia and ASEAN countries. UniKL aims to provide our graduates with the knowledge, skills and attitude required to contribute towards and play major roles in a globalised and knowledge-based economy. Our vision is to become the premier entrepreneurial technical university in the country by 2020 through excellence in research, education, training, entrepreneurship, consultancy and community services. Our research activity is focused on developing new technologies and products to support our techno-entrepreneurship ventures with our researchers, graduates and industrial partners.
The university partners with many other local and international universities and research institutions to bring closer research knowledge into successful application and commercialisation. With the concept of 'One Campus One Specialisation, Universiti Kuala Lumpur integrated educational curriculum is comprised of four major components namely technical, social, learning and entrepreneurship. Our practice-oriented teaching strategy makes learning interesting. It also enables our student to apply their knowledge and acquire hands-on skills required by industry. As such, our laboratory and workshops are well equipped with state-of-the-art equipment to support the teaching and learning process. Many of our faculty members have vast industrial experience, with professional and academic qualifications required to help and guide our students in their development.
UniKL has 11 institutes spread across 10 campuses throughout Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur, Gombak, Bangi, Kajang, Sepang, Taboh Naning, Pasir Gudang, Ipoh, Lumut and Kulim. While each has their own unique character, the campuses and institutes have many similar attributes. For example, each campus and institute has its own Dean, its own Students Affair Department, its own student union and its own specialisation.

Each institute under UniKL has a focus area of specialisation. All educational programmes of UniKL are approved and accredited by Malaysian Qualification Agency (MQA). Although they may have some new courses in waiting to be approved from MQA, the approval will take some time as it is a messy process to go through, and in some cases, it might took years for an approval. The university provides foundation programmes to prepare students for direct entry into the degree studies. Alternatively, students with only SPM (Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia) or O-level equivalent may apply to do the diploma programmes. Universiti Kuala Lumpur Malaysia France Institute (UniKL MFI) was initially incorporated in February 1995 as a collaborative project between Malaysia and France. The institute, located in Bangi, Selangor became a branch campus of Universiti Kuala Lumpur in 2003. The technical programmes offered in this institute were mostly developed in collaboration with expertise input from several institutions in France. The UniKL MFI specialises in the fields of Industrial Automation, Robotics, Mechatronics, Automotive & Industrial Maintenance, Metal Fabrication and Refrigeration/Air Conditioning. The institute also prepares top students for further studies in France.

Universiti Kuala Lumpur British Malaysian Institute (UniKL BMI) was set up as a result of a smart partnership between the Malaysian and British government in 1998. Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA), representing the Malaysian government was given the mandate to provide the infrastructure and manpower while the British government contributed by providing support and expertise through its key players in certain industries such as the BAE Systems, British Airways, Standard Chartered Bank (M) Bhd and Rolls Royce as well as its highly reputable institutions which include Wigan & Leigh College and the University of Hertfordshire.

Established in response to the rapidly increasing demand of the industry and incorporating the most advanced technology in Automotive Engineering, Universiti Kuala Lumpur Malaysian Spanish Institute (UniKL MSI) commenced its operation at a temporary campus in August 2002 and moved its main campus which is built on an approximately 39.27-acre (158,900 m2) piece of land in Kulim Hi Tech Park, Kedah in December 2003. A collaborative effort between the Malaysian and Spanish government, UniKL MSI offers automotive engineering programmes with a combination of theoretical training and practical application.

Formerly known as Institut Infotech MARA, Malaysian Institute of Information Technology (MIIT) has been at the forefront of providing IT education since 1982. It started off as Electronic Data Processing School of MARA and its main objective then was to impart knowledge in computer programming. However, with the change of landscape in the ICT industry globally and locally, MIIT has re-strategised and diversified the programmes that it offers in order to realise the 9th Malaysia Plan which includes generating skilled ICT workforce and technopreneurs. MIIT also has the support of key industry players such as CISCO and IBM Malaysia.

Universiti Kuala Lumpur Malaysian Institute of Aviation Technology (UniKL MIAT) aspires to become the premier aviation training institution specializing in aircraft will be able to meet the demand of current and future aircraft maintenance technology. This campus have been known to have brilliant strategic academy system, where students who followed the academic system thoroughly, it can be considered easy to be in the Dean's list and can be assured a 3.65 minimum of Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) upon graduation. This campus have been approved from Malaysian Qualification Agency (MQA), further understanding of the approval must be done by anyone who is interested to know whether his/her chosen courses has been accredited or provisionally accredited. Student candidates will go through several test and interviews before they can be acknowledged as students. The students are bright and have potential in applying the knowledge carefully in the industry where these graduates will be held responsible for the MILLIONS OF LIVES in the aviation commercial industry. UniKL MITEC, Formerly known as UniKL Pasir Gudang is specialised in Industrial Process Instrumentation and Control Engineering which aims to fulfill human capital needs of the Iskandar Development Region. The ground-breaking ceremony of UniKL Pasir Gudang worth RM 196.5 million on a 24 hectare piece of land was officiated by the former Minister of Entrepreneur and Co-operative Development, Dato’ Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin last March 2008. The campus will be ready by 2010 at Pasir Gudang with the maximum capacity of 1,500 students. The university upholds the philosophy of maintaining the leading entrepreneurial technical university. This belief ascertains a strong merge between the academic and the corporate world. The Universiti Kuala Lumpur Business School was set up to meet the global challenges by closely linking the institute and the industry players to disseminate the knowledge and experience through a variety of its educational programmes, research, training and consultancy. This unique 31-storey city campus building have 7,201sqf lobby area with one mezzanine level, made into a student counselling and discussion area. Besides that, there are other facilities such as sick bay, gym, Bestari Lecture Hall which fits 225 people at one time, three storeys dedicated as the library area complete with an IT Resource Centre, six incubators, 31 laboratories (i.e. Multimedia Lab, JAVA/Ms.NET Lab, Rational Lab, Networking Lab, CAD-CAM Lab, CNC Simulators Lab, CAD & Design Lab, CCM & Metrology Lab, Mechanical & Materials Lab, Mechatronics Lab, Graduates’ Project Lab, Analog Lab and Language Lab), 30 lecture rooms and a studio. Level 4 until 24 are used for academic purposes mainly lectures. Level 25 onwards are the administration levels, which house the Deans’ Offices, Preparatory Centre, Administration, Finance, Human Resource, Corporate Affairs and Entrepreneur Development and Innovation Divisions.
