  • We go by the information we have officially. If you look at the talk page of the season article, there is a large source list of all advisories issued on each storm. The official intensity from the Japan Meteorological Agency clearly states that Goni was not a severe tropical storm. Cyclonebiskit (talk) 13:53, 11 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • That mean you think the information of Chinese Wikipedia does not officially?but our imformation is also from JMA!--An Macanese 15:22, 11 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • I can't read Chinese so I don't know what source they're using, but we use the JMA advisories and those state that Goni was not a severe tropical storm. Cyclonebiskit (talk) 15:24, 11 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Really?Actually,my English is not so good also.Where you can found the proof says that JMA take Goni as a tropical storm?(I don't know Japanese too)--An Macanese 16:19, 11 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Ps—Here is a record from Hong Kong Observatory(although it is not from JMA,HKO is almost as strict as JMA).On 5th of Aug, Goni has become a Severe Tropical Storm.
Hi there - Cyclonebiskit is correct in saying that Goni was only a Tropical Storm per JMA's Advisories. You will find copies of the English advisories issued by the JMA in here which clearly show that Goni was not a severe tropical storm at peak operationally in fact it didnt exceed minimal tropical storm strength of 35 knots. Jason Rees (talk) 17:30, 11 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Is it really from JMA? Why the website does not link JMA if JMA have really issue the Advisories?--An Macanese 18:19, 11 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Yes they really are the tropical storm advisories from the JMA. Jason Rees (talk) 18:35, 11 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Yes i do have proof - the JMA say on page 66 on their ATCR, that this is the way they lay out their advisories. They also give us the offical codes which they release the advisories on. So unless you have something from the JMA saying that Goni was an STS we have to leave it as a TS.Jason Rees (talk) 17:44, 12 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Also, I I may add, from this picture [1] that I took from this document [2], you can see the official JMA scale for the Western Pacific west of the International dateline. --Anhamirak 13:27, 12 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Anhamirak - what are you on about ?Jason Rees (talk) 17:44, 12 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, wasn't thinking right, please disregard my comment above. --Anhamirak 01:51, 13 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Mujigae[edit]

Why did you move it to Typhoon Mujigae when it wasnt ever upgraded past a 35 kts TS.Jason Rees (talk)

I removed those warnings from that talk page because:

  1. Your actions constitute biting newbies. It is action like yours that chase away new editors from continuing to contribute.
  2. None of the user's behaviour is vandalism. Creating an article on a university is not vandalism. It never was, it never is, and it never will.
  3. Because of those 2 points above, you didn't assume good faith
  4. And finally, don't template the regulars like me

Speedy deletion declined: Egongling River[edit]

Hello An Macanese. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Egongling River, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Its a river in China. Thank you. ϢereSpielChequers 21:19, 29 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Declined again[edit]

"No context" means that it is not possible to clearly determine the subject of an article based on the content provided. The article is very brief, but identifies its subject as a river in Longgang District, China. If there is some other reason you feel it should be deleted, consider using proposed deletion or initiating a deletion discussion instead, but please do not re-add CSD tags after they have been declined. This is known as admin shopping and is strongly discouraged. Beeblebrox (talk) 03:56, 30 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Québecor[edit]

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently tried to give Québecor a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut and paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Disambiguation link notification for June 5[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited List of House members of the 41st Parliament of Canada, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Bourassa (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Forces et Démocratie[edit]

While I didn't see that specific instance myself, I think that the current colour choice is the best, as blue is by far the dominant colour in the party's logo (as can be seen here). Hope that helps. Tholden28 (talk) 15:19, 26 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

From what I recall, party colours on Wikipedia are based on the party's logo as opposed to anything else. I think the House of Commons only chose to illustrate them in green because both the Conservatives and the Bloc Quebecois are in blue. Tholden28 (talk) 15:10, 31 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Personally, I'm in favour of keeping the colour as it is, due to the logo. That said, even if I did support changing the colour to green, it really wouldn't be up to me. Changing the colour would require a gerneral consensus. Because of this, it might be better to take this discussion to Template talk:Canadian party colour. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Ian Fang, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Chinese (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Invitation from Wikimedia Portugal[edit]

(English below)

Agradecemos desde já!

Hi! Wikimedia Portugal is the Portuguese chapter of Wikimedia, founded in 2009 and recognized by the Wikimedia Foundation. Our mission is to contribute to the general dissemination of knowledge and culture through the incentive to the collection and creation of content without restrictions on use, modification and distribution, and promote their difusion; we promote and support the Wikimedia Foundation projects, among which Wikipedia, with emphasis on projects in Portuguese and Mirandese.

We would like however to count on the support of (and in turn ourselves support) all volunteers that are citizens, resident, or simply interested in Portugal. Despite being founded in 2009, the chapter has gone through a long period of inactivity that we are trying to overcome. We have sent you this message to invite you, if you are interested, to enroll as associate to the chapter, demonstrate your support to the existence of a chapter in Portugal, and get involved in the discussion of future activities by registering in the mailing list. Recentely, the Wikimedia Affiliations Committee suspended support to Wikimedia Portugal pending, among other things, the support from the community of portuguese editors.
