I just reverted an insertion you made to machine vision because it needs a source. Sourcing new material is very important at Wikipedia (WP:V) so readers can verify what we write and so we can make sure the article does not disproportionally cover any particular view. Well it is not irrelevant info. It is just an addition of an Urdu title (which I believe might be that of Chennai). And neither is it spam. Spamming are edits when a user tries to promote an entity or organisation in his edits. So your revert should have been plain with a summary pls discuss on talk page. Hi Anbu, glad to hear that you are updating the Chennai suburb articles. Let me answer your questions.

1) Lists of schools, banks etc. can be removed. Look at Chennai#Education for reference. I guess we need to trim these articles down to what can be referenced to published sources. If no published source covers schools in a suburb, I guess we can do away with the Education section.

2) Sub-localities and major roads, buses, IT companies: Lists should be avoided and these have to go as well.

Have you read the entire article of IIM Lucknow? If not please have a read and let me know if any of the edits that I have made is not written from a neutral point of view. I will be really happy to rewrite it from a neutral point of view. You have asked me to post on the talk page for making every edit and wait 24 hours for comments. The average number of page views for this article before I started editing was around 40 per day and the average number of views of the talk page was 0 (The statistics has marginally increased after I started editing). I assume that a major portion of the 40 views are from IP. Among the rest, how many editors do you think would have a look at the talk page? You are making a statement that you would undertake editorial changes in IIM Lucknow article. Do you remember that you promised on the IIM Lucknow talk page on 23 June 2011 that you are going to initiate some work to develop the article and you asked other editors to follow your work. But I find that you couldn't find enough time in the past 7 months to do any constructive edits to the page except the statement "IIM Lucknow awards only diplomas, and not degrees". (But, I am really happy about the way you maintained this article and other articles related to colleges by reverting copy vio and promotional material) As of now, I am aware of only 2 editors (including you and excluding me) who actively monitor articles related to Indian colleges. What do you think will be the response for my requests on the talk page. It is just going to reduce my productivity by 5 times (assuming that I do 5 edits on average per day) and it is also going to demoralize me.

Don't mind the tag Anbu. It's not to cast aspersions on you. I apologize if you feel that way. It's only to ensure that editors who are experts in making an article adhere to neutral point of view standards will be attracted to the article. If you read COI, you'll realize that despite our best attempts, if we are editing articles that we are close to, our editing would be compromised - for example, if there were encyclopedic material of, say, IIM Lucknow students involved in criminal activities or something like that, you might not feel good about placing it on the Wikipedia page. For example again, a link like this that is used in the article seems purely promotional to me. It talks about peacocks, snakes etc on the campus and seems to provide a promo campaign. This link has been used to quote a 3.4 km walk or something like that. Is that of encyclopedic value? I don't know. More eyes would help to assess such stuff. For example again, the whole section on academic infrastructure has exceptional claims and is based on primary and unreliable sources, which fails on our REDFLAG policy. As per NPOV criteria, they should be removed and reliable sources to validate the citations should be given. A business school claiming on its website that its infrastructure is great is promotional - such a source cannot be accepted. Neither can a source of lucknow.org.uk or something like that. So that's why the tag and that's why I plan to engage editors in due course on the talk page to remove primary source material and questionable sources. At the same time, I'm not saying that you have to prove anything. All I'm saying is that you should delay your productivity by 24 hours. That's not too much to request, given that you've been honest with your involvement. Look, it's a failsafe arrangement I'm providing you to ensure that tomorrow, if there are editors who accuse you of being from IIM Lucknow and therefore accuse you of CoI editing, you can always tell them that you have followed a benchmark procedure while editing the article. 1) Please examine the situation carefully before making a opinion on it. I have used this link only as a citation to support a particular statement. I have not used it in the external links section or in the article mainspace. WP:RELIABLESOURCES only says that there must be a reliable secondary source that supports the information presented in the article (I hope you will agree that CNBC is a reliable secondary source). The policy does not say that the extra material that may be present in the source used must also be non-promotional.
2) I partially agree to your concern on Academic infrastructure. But, do you think that a secondary source like a national newspaper will publish information about how many books and periodicals does the library of a college have? There are around 21 featured articles of colleges in Wikipedia (here). Every single college there has used primary source for supporting information about the college's infrastructure, because it is impossible to get secondary sources for these. WP:PRIMARY says that primary sources can be used to make straightforward, descriptive statements of facts. I have not described anywhere in the article that the infrastructure of the college is great. I have presented all the material only in the form of facts without using even a single adjective. Further WP:SELFPUBLISH gives a list of self-published media: "books, patents, newsletters, personal websites, open wikis, personal or group blogs, Internet forum postings, and tweets". Did you notice that this list does not include official website of institutions.
3) Now, let us come to our main issue. WP:COI does not anywhere mention about this 24 hour concept that you are suggesting to me. It only says that any controversial edit must be discussed on the talk page. If you have read WP:COI carefully, the definition of COI says that a conflict of interest occurs when the interest of an editor and the interest of wikipedia differs. It clearly says in bold that Where advancing outside interests is more important to an editor than advancing the aims of Wikipedia, that editor stands in a conflict of interest. A person cannot be tagged as having conflict of interest just because he is related to the subject. The conflict of interest must reflect in the edits that the editor makes. I have already mentioned that I am more than happy to receive others comments about the neutrality of the article and edit accordingly. There are around 21 featured articles and 76 GA articles of colleges in Wikipedia (here). I have read every one of them before starting to edit IIM Lucknow. Do you think that these articles with such amount of rich information can be written by anyone outside the college. I am sure that the major contributor of each of these featured articles must be a person associated with the college. It is not because of vested interest of any student that these 21 articles have attained featured status. It is because of the reason that the person associated with the college knows where to look for reliable information sources about the college, which an outsider may not know. As you suggested, I have clearly mentioned on the talk page of IIM Lucknow article that I am a student of IIM Lucknow and I have invited other editors to make changes whenever they find the article is not written from a neutral point of view. I have even received a comment from an editor that there is nothing biased in the article and that the article is well written. Based on all these reasons, I kindly request you to remove the tag you placed on the top of the article. (On a personal note: Some of my friends know that I am editing the IIM Lucknow article at Wikipedia. I had even asked some of them to read the article and give feedback to me. Now this tag on the top of the article is causing me a huge embarrassment.)
Wikipedia is built on the shoulders of its People. I do not wish to disappoint or dispute even with a single wikipedian. Hence I will refrain from adding any new content to the article till you post on my talk page that you trust me.   • Quote-"....who has reverted constructive edits as test /vandalism" unquote. Please explain HOW were any of those edits constructive when they were NOT cited or referenced?
  • Quote-"This is a very crucial piece of information" unquote. Please explain HOW is this crucial when the editor has updated date of birth of a 14th century ruler but has not provided any source for information?
  • Quote-"He has been in Wikipedia for an year, but almost 90% of his edits has been in the last month" unquote. Wrong. My account was created in 2007 and I have been active for 14 months now. 90% of my edits have been in past 3 months. And your point it????? I noticed that you have been active only since Dec 2011 and 100% of your edits are since then. So please stop throwing darts at others when you are way more inexperienced than them. Besides you have received several warnings yourself for different violations.
  • Quote-"....he has replied that he is also a human and asked them to relax" unquote. Read the FULL reply and don’t post a part of my statement on noticeboard. It reads, quote "it was an oversight (I am a human being in case you did not notice already). Don’t get upset. I know where I messed up; I noticed word "sucker" and assumed that the page was vandalized. Like rest of us, I also don’t check edit count of every user before reverting changes - so don’t take it personal. If it makes you feel better, please report my change as Vandalism. Cheers". unquote.
  • Quote-"He has also received many notifications regarding falsely tagging articles for deletion" unquote. You should first know that NOT every AfD HAS to be deleted. AfD has a process and opinion of several people is taken into account before deleting an article. Yes I have initiated more than 50 AfD and CSD and I must tell you that majority of them have been deleted.
  • Quote-"Rollback rights" unquote. This is not your lookout. There are administrators for this purpose and mind you; you are not questioning me here but are pointing your figure at administrator User:Fastily here by saying "I do not understand how admins grant rollback rights without even noticing this kind of behavior". So please watch what you say; you are just 3 months old on Wikipedia and should not comment on an Administrators experience or judgement.
  • Quote-"....done approximately 6000 edits in the last month" unquote. I am no IIM guy and hence maths might not be my forte. However having hired couple of IIM & ISB graduates, I atleast have the wisdom to differentiate between whole numbers 6,000 & 4,786. Don't lie blatantly just to prove your point.
  • Quote-"....he has done nearly 400 edits per hour. unquote. OMG, you have too much time in your hand to figure that out and to stalk other users? By the way when did I do 400 edits in an hour @ 6.67 edits per minute = 1 edit per 9 seconds. If this is true then I am very happy with my work speed. Thanks for letting me know.
  • Quote-"....he is hungry for edit count" unquote. Not your business what I am hungry for and how do I plan to spend my time and energy. You take care of your own affairs and stop bothering about me.
  • Quote-"...he is accumulating edits mindlessly" unquote. I suggest you mind your language here. This is a personal attack. See WP:NPA#WHATIS. Any further act like this will not be tolerated by me and I will have no other choice but to report you. I am open for discussions, but in a civil manner. If I go wrong (which I can), then I have no shame in admitting it for future better. Refrain from personal attacks.
  • Quote-"I have notified on his talk page to stop using STiki and review all his previous edits." unquote. What, when???? All you posted on my page was "Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that there is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you.". Why do you have to make incorrect statements all the time? And who exactly are you to post me such warning?
  • Lastly, if you have issues; talk to me and don’t try to do extraordinary things. You are new and I can see that due lack of experience you ended up doing / saying all of above. Please understand that just because you know Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents page exists, it does not mean that you can take baseless issues there. Try to discuss it outside and ONLY if you come to a dead-end, should you take it to an important forum like this. Because of you not discussing with me, you have wasted time of 4-5 people.   • Dear Anbu121, no issues and no hard feelings. I am glad we are on the same page. You could have always dropped in a message on my talkpage. In future, if you feel that there is something that I can do better, just drop in a line. You can also notice that on several counts (when I goofed up), I went on record and said sorry; with a promise not to repeat the mistake in future. Problems like this (arguments in case of reverts) happen often and please understand (you will learn with time) that lot of times when you revert something, the editor will try and get their update back by giving any argument. Also, AfD does not mean that article has to be deleted. Ex. I wrote Nitz 'N' Sony which was nominated for deletion (CSD). These actions are non-punitive (if genuine). It did not get deleted but that does not mean that the person tagging needs to be penalized. One editor even went to the extent of posting on my talkpage "...next time if you touch it i will penalise you". Only thing I had to do was, give him a firm reply AND go and clean up the article by spending more time. I am sure even you will come across such cases where people will try and justify their updates that is not in line with Wikipedia policies. It is just a matter of time. Dear AKS, First of all thank you very much for handling the incident in a kind manner at the administrator's notice board. I wonder how you did that. If I were in your place I would have fired back. Actually, till now I have been involved in the content development side of Wikipedia. I work for projects like WikiProject India. I was not aware that there are people like you who regularly fight vandalism using automated software. I made a serious error in judgement in thinking that you yourself chose the articles purposely and tagged them for vandalism. My extreme apologies for making harsh accusations on you. This incident has opened my eyes on how vandalism is handled in Wikipedia in a collective manner and the level of hard work that people like you are doing. I was not sure which category to tag. The page is an exact copy paste from Panimalar Engineering College. Hence all the information in the page has nothing to do with the title of the page.
