Speedy deletion of Byron williams[edit]

A tag has been placed on Byron williams requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Speedy deletion of Jack-6[edit]

A tag has been placed on Jack-6 requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Ironholds (talk) 16:17, 22 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Skulduggery Pleasant 3: The Faceless Ones[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Skulduggery Pleasant 3: The Faceless Ones, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

Fails WP:BK and WP:CRYSTAL

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Proposed deletion of Sungei Kadut MRT Station[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Sungei Kadut MRT Station, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

WP:CRYSTAL; suggest creation of the article once the location actually exists.

§FreeRangeFrog 02:53, 28 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for File:Steve.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Steve.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 18:05, 20 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Boxing Pics[edit]

I noticed some of your edits and it seems you may be having some trouble with images, if you have any questions, you can check out the guideline on images at WP:IMAGE or ask me something on my talk page. In case you didn't know: when you upload a pic that you don't own the copyright to, you have to state where you got the image(a site URL), who owns it, and why the use of pic falls under fair use. Otherwise, it'll get deleted within a couple of days(or hours, depending on the admin). --GD 6041 (talk) 18:35, 20 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Have you listened[edit]

Boxing245, I've deleted all of your uploaded images as unambiguous copyright violations. Before uploading images you need to make yourself aware of the meaning of the licences you use and that you cannot take an image from the web or elsewhere and upload it here with a free licence. If you are unclear on this please drop me or anyone on this page a note. Peripitus (Talk) 13:02, 26 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Ridler in Lego.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Ridler in Lego.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 21:57, 26 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use Image:Rachel Dawes and Harvey Dent.jpg[edit]

Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Rachel Dawes and Harvey Dent.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stifle (talk) 10:38, 27 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free use of File:The Penguin in Lego.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:The Penguin in Lego.jpg. However, there is a concern that the use of the image on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. Details of this problem, and which specific criteria that the image may not meet, can be obtained by going to the image description page. If you feel that this image does meet those criteria, please place a note on the image description or talk page explaining why. Do not remove the {{di-fails NFCC}} tag itself.

An administrator will review this file within a few days, and having considered the opinions placed on the image page, may delete it in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion or remove the tag entirely. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stifle (talk) 10:38, 27 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for File:DanielCraigOO7.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:DanielCraigOO7.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Orphaned non-free media (File:Joker in Lego.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Joker in Lego.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:29, 28 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please refrain from introducing inappropriate pages, such as True Singapore Ghost Stories, to Wikipedia. Doing so is not in accordance with our policies. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Blocked for a week[edit]

Boxing245, I've blocked you for a week for, yet again, ignoring copyright. Copyright is a very serious matter and you are simply not taking heed. You uploaded the image File:Danilo Gallinari In Action.jpg today on which you claimed "I (Boxing245 (talk)) created this work entirely by myself." with a creation date of the 23rd of July 2009, yet I can see that this is a press image created by Steve Marcus, staff photographer at the Los Vegas Sun. You've been warned repeatedly, had most of your uploads deleted and been blocked before for this. I suggest you read through the copyright policies here and, if you don't understand them, either talk to myself or others once the block has expired or stop uploading images. - Peripitus (Talk) 07:54, 23 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Indiana Jones.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Indiana Jones.jpg.

Thank you. Rodhullandemu 15:11, 25 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:John Duddy.jpg[edit]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:John Duddy.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. (ESkog)(Talk) 14:47, 1 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Possibly unfree File:John Duddy punches Bonsante.jpg[edit]

A file that you uploaded or altered, File:John Duddy punches Bonsante.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Possibly unfree files because its copyright status is unclear or disputed. If the file's copyright status cannot be verified, it may be deleted. You may find more information on the file description page. You are welcome to add comments to its entry at the discussion if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. --Peripitus (Talk) 03:45, 27 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thumbnail Size[edit]

Please consider readers with smaller monitors when adding a forced size to thumbnails or infobox images. Also, having a image in the main infobox at over 400px or 500px[1] is really an eyesore that distracts from the article itself and can unnecessarily clog up the page for users with lower resolutions(800x600). In most cases, 200-300px is enough. Thanks. --GD 6041 (talk) 21:10, 20 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

As you deprodded, I figured I'd alert you to this AfD.--Milowent (talk) 18:52, 5 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there. Please do not remove copyright problems templates like you did here without addressing the problem. Copyright violations are a serious problem and Wikipedia cannot tolerate them. Also, please remember to always use edit summaries, especially when you make edits that might be controversial. Regards SoWhy 20:29, 1 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add unsourced or original content, as you did to Shrek (film series). Doing so violates Wikipedia's verifiability policy. If you continue to do so, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Thank you. -- Doniago (talk) 18:47, 26 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Boxing245. I noticed you created a Requests for Adminship page some time ago; I was wondering as to what the status of that request might be. I think it's fair to warn you that new users are rarely successful at RfA and that the Wikipedia editing community sets very high standards for editors running for adminship. That being said, I strongly urge you to read WP:GRFA, User:Davidwr/Administration is not for new users, and WP:NOTNOW, and ask you to reconsider whether you really do wish to go through with your candidacy; please understand that you stand very little to no chance of passing RfA at this point and that you are strongly discouraged from running for adminship. If you are still intent on running for adminship with that RfA and are absolutely positive this is what you want, please do let me know; otherwise, I'll go ahead and delete the RfA page for you in about a week or so from today. Speedy deletion of Ugly Betty (season 5)[edit]

A tag has been placed on Ugly Betty (season 5), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a redirect to an article talk page, file description page, file talk page, MediaWiki page, MediaWiki talk page, category talk page, portal talk page, template talk page, help talk, user page, user talk or special page from the main/article space.

If you can fix the redirect to point to a mainspace page, please do so and remove the speedy deletion tag. However, please do not remove the speedy deletion tag unless you are fixing the redirect. If you think the redirect should be retained as is for some reason, you can request that administrators wait a while before deleting it. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the page and state your reasoning on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. DASHBot (talk) 18:00, 30 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Important note[edit]

Wikipedia is not a free webhost for you to store your own fiction.

In particular, you cannot use your userspace to store articles about movies and video games that do not exist outside of your own imagination, celebrities who do not exist except insofar as they share the names of your friends, or the fifth-through-eighth seasons of television programs that were canceled after four seasons. Your proposed "user universe" is not acceptable; the pages have been deleted.

The exception is your page about the heavyweight boxer from Mars Attacks!, because this is not something that you invented. DS (talk) 14:19, 14 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing in accordance with Wikipedia's blocking policy for violating copyright policy by copying text/images into Wikipedia from another source without verifying permission. Nomination for deletion of Template:Skulduggery Pleasant[edit]

Template:Skulduggery Pleasant has been nominated for deletion. You are invited to comment on the discussion at the template's entry on the Templates for discussion page. -- /Alex/21 02:03, 15 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Chica and the Man has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Sources include IMDB and SpoilerTV--notability questionable. Episode doesn't seem all that notable. Should be deleted or redirected to main series article at Ugly Betty (season 4).

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

This bot DID NOT nominate any of your contributions for deletion; please refer to the history of each individual page for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 09:01, 11 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
