That would depend on your preferred method of editing. With the Visual Editor you can simply click on the little ^[1] (or whatever number it is) in the article text and edit the reference via the pop-up window. If you prefer to edit the source code, you'll find the footnote text between <ref>...</ref> tags at the position in the code corresponding to that little ^[1] in the article text, and you can change it. Many references use citation templates like {{cite book}} or {{cite journal}}; you'll have to check the corresponding template documentation for the list of available parameters (Visual Editor will automatically show you lists of available parameters if the reference uses a citation template). Based upon your recent edits, I would direct you to our policy that prohibits "original research". At Wikipedia, creating appropriate content consists of compiling what experts in the field have already published specifically about the subject and presenting it in the light the mainstream academics view(s). This means that we don't go looking for things that we think are State Crimes Against Democracy and adding them to the article. We find content that experts in the field have designated as "State Crimes Against Democracy " and how much agreement there is in academic circles for that designation. it seems to me that such identification is currently a pretty narrowly held and published topic, and so should be presented as such in the article. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 03:36, 1 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
