Information icon Hello, I'm Mattythewhite. I noticed that you recently removed some content from Jeffrey Bruma without explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; I have restored the removed content. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Infobox dates[edit]

Hi, when updating infobox stats you should update the |pcupdate= or |club-update= parameter by adding five tildes (~~~~~), which generates the specific time the update was made. Thanks, Mattythewhite (talk) 18:44, 4 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

February 2016[edit]

Information icon Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Robbie Rogers, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Please stop making random changes to the infobox format when you edit a page, as you did with this edit to Guirane N'Daw. Thank you. Struway2 (talk) 12:18, 1 March 2016 (UTC)

Following up on this: it looks like it's a problem with the interaction between Visual Editor and the infobox coding. See Wikipedia:Village pump (technical)#VisualEditor messing up infobox wikitext layout. I did wonder why anyone would be doing this by choice, which is why I checked that page. Sorry for the unduly aggressive warning above, which I've struck out. It might be an idea to leave off adding images using Visual Editor until the bug's fixed. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 12:33, 1 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

March 2016[edit]

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to blank out or remove portions of page content, templates, or other materials from Wikipedia, as you did at Héctor Herrera (footballer), you may be blocked from editing. Thank you. Struway2 (talk) 15:52, 1 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Please note:

  1. there is nothing wrong with including clubs' B-teams in the infobox, if those teams play in recognised leagues;
  2. blanks in player stats mean there's no source for the correct figures: it doesn't mean the player made no appearances, so the blanks shouldn't be replaced by zeroes;
  3. figures in the infobox require sources: we shouldn't add figures to the infobox without a note as to where they come from; if you don't know how to add the source to the article, then please note the web address in your edit summary.

Thank you for listening. Struway2 (talk) 15:59, 1 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you add unsourced material to Wikipedia, as you did at Luis Garrido.

Again, you've put zeroes in the infobox where there are no sources currently for the correct figure. Mr Garrido has more than zero appearances: the article states that he started his career playing for Juticalpa in the second division, and ref #4 in the article confirms that he made his professional debut with that club. Please don't keep making unsourced and inaccurate changes to biographies of living people. Struway2 (talk) 14:41, 2 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon This is your only warning; if you remove or blank page contents or templates from Wikipedia again, as you did at Stoppila Sunzu, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Mattythewhite (talk) 19:11, 7 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Stats in football players' infoboxes and update of career stats[edit]

Hi.

When you update the stats in football players' infoboxes please remember that you should also update the timestamps as of when the stats are correct. This is done by updating |pcupdate= (or |club-update=) parameter when updating club appearances and goals, or |ntupdate= (or |nationalteam-update=) when updating national team appearances and goals. The easiest way to do this is to use five tildes, which automatically converts to the current time. For example |club-update=~~~~~.

When you update the career statistics please remember that you should also update that timestamp as well to a time when the stats are correct. This is done by manually updating the date above or below the statistics table. By doing this we show when the stats were last updated and it prevents other editors from accidentally updating the stats again.

This is done to show other editors when the stats were last updated and prevent them from accidentally updating the stats again, and also it shows readers that it has been updated.

Please keep this in mind. Thank you. Qed237 (talk) 11:24, 22 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Héctor Herrera. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be undone.

Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continual disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges.

Please don't start removing B teams from infoboxes again, as you did at Héctor Herrera, or duplicating images, as you did at Dale Stephens (footballer). Struway2 (talk) 15:07, 4 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

September 2016[edit]

Information icon Hello! Thank you for your recent contributions to Guillermo Sara. I did have one note for you. I am working on a maintenance project to clean up Category:Pages using infoboxes with thumbnail images. In the future, please do not use thumbnails when adding images to an infobox (see WP:INFOBOXIMAGE). What does this mean? Well in the infobox, when you specify the image you wish to use, instead of doing it like this:

|image=[[File:SomeImage.jpg|thumb|Some image caption]]

Instead just supply the name of the image. So in this case you can simply do:

|image=SomeImage.jpg.

There will then be a separate parameter for the image caption such as |caption=Some image caption. Please note that this is a generic form message I am leaving on your page because you recently added a thumbnail to an infobox. The specific parameters for the image and caption may be different for the infobox you are using! Please consult the Template page for the infobox being used to see better documentation. Thanks!! ArbCom Elections 2016: Voting now open![edit]

Hello, FranklinAJ. Voting in the 2016 Arbitration Committee elections is open from Monday, 00:00, 21 November through Sunday, 23:59, 4 December to all unblocked users who have registered an account before Wednesday, 00:00, 28 October 2016 and have made at least 150 mainspace edits before Sunday, 00:00, 1 November 2016.

It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2016 election, please review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 22:08, 21 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
