June 2012[edit]

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button or located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when they said it. Thank you.   — Jeff G. ツ (talk) 22:21, 20 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Atlanta Braves Roster[edit]

Even though Brandon Beachy is out for the season, he is only on the 15 day DL. Teams do not usually place guys on the 60 Day DL unless they need to free up roster spots on the 40 man roster because guys on the 60 day DL do not count toward the 40 man roster and guys on the 15 day DL do count as part of the 40 man roster. Braves still only have 37 players on the 40 man roster right now. Braves may put him on the 60 Day DL at some point- probably around September if they call up several guys who are not already on the 40 man roster.

Please quit changing Beachy to the 60 Day DL or any other edits that are not verifiable. I'm not trying to be a jerk about it, but by continuing to do things like this after it has been corrected numerous times by other editors could get you reported for Vandalism on Wikipedia and you could be Blocked from making any edits on Wikipedia. Just trying to help you out by warning you about this. --(BravesInsider13)

Your edit appears to have been considered "awkward". May I suggest looking at other articles of people who go by their initials and doing something similar? Cheers Jim1138 (talk) 04:37, 27 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of Paul Bargas for deletion[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Paul Bargas is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. Secret account 07:58, 30 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Jdp123, nice article and I'm a big Twins' fan, so I appreciate it. Unfortunately, Secret and the rest of the deletionist bastards on wikipedia who get off on killing-off worthy articles will probably win this fight. I took most of the article and copied it to a baseball wiki website at the following link - http://www.baseball-reference.com/bullpen/Paul_Bargas. It will have a permanent home there.Take care. thank you david for that comment although I dont know why would sercet delete it Jdp123 (talk)

July 2012[edit]

Thank you for your contributions. One of your recent contributions to Jordan Williams has been reverted or removed, because it contains speculative or unconfirmed information about a future event. Wikipedia has a policy called "Wikipedia is not a crystal ball", which discourages such edits. Please only add material about future events if it is verifiable, based on a reference to a reliable source. Thank you. NBA's trade moratorium means no trade or free agent signing can happen until July 11 at the earliest. Today is July 6. Mosmof (talk) 17:53, 6 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry I'm new here so thank you for the comment Jdp123 21:53, 12 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Latin American 10,000 Challenge invite[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Latin America/The 10,000 Challenge ‎ has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Brazil, Mexico, Peru and Argentina etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Latin American content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon. If you would like to see this happening for Latin America, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Latin America, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant!♦ --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 00:53, 27 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
