Change of release dates

Hi, so following on from those Fat Joe edits - I checked discogs (which admittedly isn't the most reliable source, but is possibly the only easy source of info for the release of such a 12" and it confirmed my revert. The concern here is that you have changed a number of release dates on a range of articles and they are all completely unsourced. For example, what is your justification for this change on Redman's Whut? Thee Album? Where are you getting the information from that states it was released in September not October? Please also note that you should add references. I can show you how if you are unsure. Have a look here Wikipedia:Identifying reliable sources and Wikipedia:Verifiability and let me know your thoughts about referencing, but please don't make any further edits without sources. Using sources on Wikipedia

Hi there. I’m Serge, and Admin here on Wikipedia. While I appreciate your recent interest in the List of concept albums article, please know that you need to add a source that verifies that each entry on the list is a concept album. I’m glad you started adding sources, but multiple sources you’ve added that I spot-checked did not actually verify the claim. The source must literally state “this album is a concept album”.

Hopefully this was just an accident, as purposefully adding info with fake sources could lead to your account being blocked.

I just spot-checked two more of your additions, and neither sources states they were concept albums. I couldn’t even really see any indirect statements that could be interpreted or misconstrued as verifying it. If you keep doing this, and cannot provide any sort of rational explanation, your account is going to become blocked from editing. Please stop doing this. • • • You don’t necessarily have to stop editing it, you just have to stop adding unsourced entries or adding fake sources that don’t actually verify your additions. But if you are unwilling or unable to correctly add sources, then yes, it would be best you not edit the article.
    • The problem with concept albums is that often people make mistakes in interpreting whether or not an album is a concept album or just an almost with some vague common things. The article underwent a massive 2 year review, and there were a staggering number of entries that were incorrect. Now that the article has been fully cleaned up, a source is needed to verify each entry to make sure the article doesn’t fall back into disrepair.
    • Technically, per the Wikipedia policy on verification and sourcing, all content added to Wikipedia requires sources. So, while your reaction may be to just walk away from the concept album article, know that if you keep adding unsourced content to any Wikipedia article, you’ll likely eventually find your account blocked from editing. Correctly using sources

It’s very simple. You already know how to add sources to articles, it’s just that your sources don’t say anything about concept albums. You can’t just add Allmusic reviews randomly. The source has to say “(Album) is a concept album”. If you can find a source that says that, you can add it. If the source doesn’t contain the words “concept album”, then don’t add it. If you can’t find a source then don’t add it.
