A tag has been placed on File:CayleeCowan2019.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a non-free file with a clearly invalid licensing tag; or it otherwise fails some part of the non-free content criteria. If you can find a valid tag that expresses why the file can be used under the fair use guidelines, please replace the current tag with that tag. If no such tag exists, please add the {{Non-free fair use}} tag, along with a brief explanation of why this constitutes fair use of the file. If the file has been deleted, you can re-upload it, but please ensure you place the correct tag on it.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. @Onel5969:I dont get it what info did I use that was copyrighted?Junerock21 (talk) 15:35, 8 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The information which was removed. If the pages are still there, you can see the sites where they were cut and pasted from. Onel5969 TT me 15:40, 8 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Onel5969:. but why did you delete everything? I can't fix it fix it's gone and it took me hours to write that up. I thought it had to be cited verbatim. I didn't know that. Is there a way I can get my text back? Junerock21 (talk) 16:05, 8 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Hi. Sorry I didn't get back to you again yesterday. Also sorry, but you can't get that info back, as it's been scrubbed from Wikipedia, since it was a blatant word-for-word cut and paste from outside sources. However, the information is still in those underlying sources, verbatim. Please read WP:COPYVIO, has adding copyright violations can get you banned from editing. On another note, I see on another article you used some questionable sources, so you might want to read WP:RS. I had the same issue when I first started editing on WP, particularly with Find a Grave, which I didn't realize it wasn't a reliable source. And don't be afraid to ask questions (as you did here). As long as you are polite, most editors are more than willing to be helpful. I hope this helps.Onel5969 TT me 11:20, 9 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for the calculation of the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. See User:RonBot for info on how to not get these messages. An extended welcome[edit]

Hi Junerock21. Welcome to Wikipedia. I've added a welcome message to the top of this page that gives a great deal of information about Wikipedia. I hope you find it useful.

Additionally, I hope you don't mind if I share some of my thoughts on starting out as a new editor on Wikipedia: If I could get editors in your situation to follow just one piece of advice, it would be this: Learn Wikipedia by working only on non-contentious topics until you have a feel for the normal editing process and the policies that usually come up when editing casually. You'll find editing to be fun, easy, and rewarding. The rare disputes are resolved quickly and easily.

Working on biographical information about living persons is far more difficult. Wikipedia's Biographies of living persons policy requires strict adherence to multiple content policies, and applies to all information about living persons including talk pages.

If you have a relationship with the topics you want to edit, then you will need to review Wikipedia's Conflict of interest policy, which may require you to disclose your relationship and restrict your editing depending upon how you are affiliated with the subject matter.

Some topic areas within Wikipedia have special editing restrictions that apply to all editors. It's best to avoid these topics until you are extremely familiar with all relevant policies and guidelines.

I hope you find some useful information in all this, and welcome again. --Ronz (talk) 19:01, 8 February 2019 (UTC) Thank you ronz!![reply]
